  1. Ok so I finally got my car back after 3.5 weeks. All looks good so far, got a new/reco ecu, which took 3 weeks for them to sort out. And also had the put in a new wastegate actuator. The car goes great now, no missing/overboost and no stalling.. Now I'm going to install my gauges on the weekend.. Any tips on where to get power from and also how to hook up to the dimmer..
  2. Ok took it and had the codes read on it, came up with 16 different codes!! So rang the dealer and told him, now it goes back tomorrow and I get a loan car.. Looks like the ecu seems to be overheating I think? An engine management tech told me when it stalls cool the ecu with a wet rag and see what happens.. I did and it started straight away after only 20sec of the rag being on.. Hope it gets fixed properly.
  3. Yeah your right. Found the statutory warranty. Will look into it. Just can't go without a car, need to get to work. But if its going to be an expensive fix then it's going back for sure.. Just found the dealer to be a little dodgy.. If its an easy fix then I'd rather do it myself, I've always fixed my own cars. Not that I know a lot about turbos but have always owned fords. Have the wastegate actuator, plugs and coils. So gonna just put them in first. And give the tb a good clean. Is it easiest to do the wastegate actuator by pulling the manifold and turbo out together?? Looks to be the best way to me, but will be my first time...the bottom turbo bracket looks like a bitch... Any advice??
  4. Only got a 12 month warranty that covers bugger all. Electrical and the turbo are only covered up to $300 each. Labour to change the wastegate actuator would cost that much. That's why I'm doing that myself, under$200. But if I can diagnose the stalling prob, may get that done under warranty.. Seeing what codes it's been throwing tomorrow so I hope that gives a better idea of what's going on..
  5. Ok , sounds as though cleaning th tb is a good place to start.. Its a little hard to tell if its been tuned, as the actuator is stuffed and it hits the overboost cut. All looks standard. Bought from a dealer in brisbane, they had no idea. And it never stalled till afew days after I got it home.. Really only was able to boot first gear and it didnt cut out, as it was wet and had an old guy sitting next to me. wasnt till the drive home that I noticed the massive boost and it was cutting aroung 3k... Its a 6 speed manual and has 120k on the clock, motor sounds nice and quiet. Hope I didnt buy a lemon....
  6. Thanks.. I have new coils to put in and plugs aswell. will do them the same time I do the actuator. will clean the tb aswell. Hope that's the prob! Didnt think it would be the throttle body as it only does it when hot? But anything is worth a try..
  7. Just bought a Ba11 xr6t. The problem im having is that once its up to running temp, if I let it idle too long say at a set of lights or just in the drivewayit will stall.. Then it will fire back up but stalls imediately.. I have to let it cool for a few min then it will run no prob.. The temp gauge never goes over half way and when I pop the bonnet it doesnt seem too hot.. Im guessing a sensor?? It does have a stuffed wastegate actuator that is causing overboost. Will be putting in a new one this week.. Is it easiest to take the whole manifold and turbo out together or should I just try taking the turbo out??? And is it the overboost problem causing the stalling or something else??? Any ideas would be a great help as im worried every set of light its gonna die....
