    15000km Service

BP Visco 5000 is a fully synthetic oil, rated at 5W-40. I swear by the stuff and personally feel that it's the best oil on the market for the $$$. It's a decent horsepower oil and is also has an excellent wear rate on the internal components of your engine. A few years ago, Fast Fours and Rotaries magazine did a comparison of 10 leading oils on the market (ran the test in conjunction with COME Racing) and from memory BP Viso 5000 was second overall? The only better oil was from the US and was considerably more expensive, which is a factor considering the amount of oil required in the 4.0T. As has been mentioned before though, make sure you run mineral based oil for the beginnning of the engine's life. My first oil change with synthetic oil was at 7,500 km's.
  2. There was an EF turbo running 10's at Drag Combat in April. Wouldn't that be the fastest turbo Falcon in Perth?
  3. I'm from Perth and am interested. If bulk order goes ahead, I'm in!
  4. From memory, a newton meter is the amount of torque exerted by a force of 1 newton acting at a perpendicular distance of 1 meter from the specified axis of rotation. I was of the understanding to convert from Newtons to Newton meters was to divide the amount of Newtons by 9.81 metres per second per second (ms-2). Therefore, if you are producing 5700N on the dyno, it would be safe to say that you are producing 581Nm. Then again I'm probably wrong??
  5. Blackwrx, To answer your previous question regarding the installation of amps and a sub in your Ford ute, here is the stage that I am up to at the moment. Im currently in the process of installing the following components in my Ute: - 2 x Earthquake amplifiers - 1 x 10" DD 9110 sub - 40 Farad capacitor - Extra battery (Odyssey) - Audio Control EQX pre-amp and crossover - 2 x pairs of Boston Acoustic 5 x 7's (to go into factory locations) - Pure silver (99.9999) interconnects The above setup is really only for SQ purposes and not for outright SPL. All of the above will fit in a Ford ute, so I have no doubt that you will be able to install a good sounding audio system too. I will post pics as I start the installation (I'm only just starting to buld the box at present). I dont think you would want to go larger than a 12" sub unless you start modifying the vehicle and installing the subs on the rear tray, then running a port into the cabin.
  6. If you want to upgrade your stereo, I would strongly suggest that you look at the Audio Control EQX. It's such a good piece of kit because it will accept high level inputs (speaker inputs) and convert it to RCA outs. It also cleans up the sound a great deal. This will allow you to add an amp for the mids/highs, sub and also full range outputs. In my ute I'll be installing 2 pairs of Boston Acoustic SL80 (5x7" speakers to be installed in place of the factory speakers). I can then run a sub amp to my DD 12" sub via a 50 farad capacitor. If you're wanting sound quality and need to retain the original head unit, then this is the best way around it.

    Ford T Loses!

There are some seriously quick cars out there on the road, most of them being either highly illegal or seriously underbraked. As an all-round package the XR6T is excellent value for money. I do own 2 rotary's (an R100 and a 10 second RX-7) but at the end of the day they rarely, if ever get used. On the other hand, the XR6T is a brand new car, equipped with a 3 year warranty, good towing capability and effortless cruising. So don't beat up on yourselves too much, because even a standard XR6T is a relatively fast car and capable of towing a boat and caravan and returning good fuel economy. Do you think a Datsun 1200 ute with a 20B triple rotor would have the same economy/warranty/driveability attributes? I think not!!
  8. I'm still waiting for my ute to get manufactured (as I wanted an '05 build for resale value). However, I paid $37,939.00 drive away for a 2005 XR6T 6 speed, with prestige paint (silhouette).
