Sounds like what I'm experiencing right now. Last week they diagnosed a faulty TPS but it wasn't replaced until yesterday. For the past few days the engine check light would come on under moderate load and turn off a second or so later. Last night I did a twisty run and it was coming on all the time. Don't care anymore, can't feel any performance difference and I'm sick of going back to the dealers for bullsh*t fixes. When it breaks, its their problem heh

After waiting a week for the service department to "fit me in" for a f#cking reflash which they required the car all day, I get there this afternoon to find out that they didn't do sh*t! In 6 or 7hrs all they managed to come up with is my TPS is faulty and a new one has been ordered. Don't worry about any other issues I might have, they just don't have time to look at them heh. I specifically asked about the PRGC309 update as this was the main reason for booking the car in and was told quite clearly that it was NOT the cure for overboost, my car did not need it and they did not do it!!! The service manager claims that my car already had the "latest" software. Which clearly isn't the case seeing as the previous dealer who did the 3000km service stated on the invoice that they could not do the PRGC309 reflash as their equipment had not yet been updated and it was to be done next time my car was in. I guess my car has been updated with the magical happy fairy pcm reflash that just floats on in as you drive past your friendly ford dealer Guess I'll have to bring in a copy of the service program thing posted earlier in this thread along with a swift kick to the freaking head! Feel much better now, dont think I even made any sense hehe

Only done 5365km since picking up the car on Dec 7th or something, so hardly worth reporting but... Odometer says 5363.0 Trip B says 5365.00 How the hell can Trip B be higher than the actual Odometer? Crazy fords!!!

Some of the tyre milage posted here would make honda drivers look good!!! The go pedal is on the right you girls!!! Close! You get a job where they pay for new ones

Thursday, 10 March 2005 is the confirmed release date on the Sony Australia website. The news was added/updated today... http://au.playstation.com/news/gt4_release.jhtml

I'd think long and hard about ex-lease/auction cars that come from the fleets of large companies. I'm on my second BA company car. To be perfectly honest, *I* wouldn't buy them at the end of lease for half their market value let alone auction price
-
Agreed. Used them on a previous car and found them to be excellent especially for the money they cost! Absolutely destroyed my rotors but chances are my driving style will see the factory rotor/pad setup of the premiums do the same thing  Like JB, rotor wear doesn't bother me if it means I can stop every time without fail and they did just that, never faded once. Only negative thing I can say about them was in the morning from a cold start they took a couple applications to work some heat into them and operate at their best.
-
Exactly. Lets be realistic here, the market for any edit in Australia is small. There is a sh*t load more cars on the road than represented in these forums, let alone the ones that even care to modify, let alone the ones that will narrow their ECU choice to the edit product! If Ford hasn’t done anything in America, I can't see them bothering here!

LOL! Are your fingers painted on? :o When it's hot turn the knob to cold, when its cold turn it the other way

Well had the 3000km non service done today and their solution to my gearbox issues, which are getting worse was to tighten up the shifter. I have no doubt that my problems are related to a fault from manufacture as its gradually getting worse. 1st thru to 4th now all rattle while accelerating above 3000rpm and while cruising. 300m down from the dealer after turning the radio off, I could hear the noise. The sooner these idiots solve my niggling issues, the sooner I can get an edit and take matters into my own hands
-
Haha you could be right! If I recall correctly some threads posted way back in 2003 may have been white also!In any case the dealer did not seem the least bit worried about it when it was mentioned today for the 3000km checkup. Just have to keep an eye on it myself.
-
Had my 3000km 'non' service today and on the paper work was PRGC309. But the next 2 lines say "NOT ABLE TO COMPLETE - FORD STILL TO RELEASE UPDATED SOFTWARE FOR OUR EQUIPMENT" I told them I had overboost issues twice but further down the paper work in relation to overboost it says "Reconnected wiring plug and carried out PCM reflash". So I am guessing that maybe PRGC309 is related to something else? Everything else I had issues with they didn't fix, but that's another story

I agree, my driving style hasn't changed and the 2 previous new cars I've had didn't use a drop of oil ever. Got under the car and checked as much as I could, no sign of oil anywhere. No marks on the ground outside where I park or in the Garage. No smoke that I've seen. I oil light came on for like a fraction of a second, only noticed it that one time. The dealer can sort it out on Monday when they get the car for the 3000km service.
-
Driving to work yesterday the oil light blinked as I was pulling upto a set of lights. Thought nothing of it at the time, but decided to check the oil today. Dipstick showed zero after the typical wipe and reinsert. Did it a few times just to make sure I wasn't going stupid. Grabbed 2x 1L packs of Mobil Super XHP 15w-40 from the servo. Put in the first pack, run the engine a bit, let it settle and check....nothing still Half of the second one and finally start to see something on the dipstick, put the rest of it in and let the engine run upto temp, settle again and check.... Still about half a cm from the "Ok" region. I'm guessing it needs around another half litre. Car has done 3100kms (first checkup service is being done on monday so I'll mention it to them), but does this sound right? I did a search on consumption and came up with 1 other person that had something similar way back in 2003. I've definately driven the car like I stole it since delivery but 2-2.5L in 3000km, that's LS1 territory
-
LOL! Excuse me, had one too many scotches and seem to have misplaced my car

Well said XRT! For someone trying to sell a product, he appears to have the mentality of a 5yo child! Or is a sensible answer too much to ask for?

Stupid question time Whats Kryal Castle?
-
Completely agree with you macka. Which is why I find it very hard to accept that a reflash from the CAPA unit will clear everything. Ford no doubt know about this bit of gear just as Expensive Daewoo would have known about LS1 edit. My interest here is not being able to get warranty work knowing full well I caused the damage. I'm more concerned about being put on the so called blacklist and finding it causing problems down the track with issues unrelated to an edit. I'm pretty sure one of the SCT reps on the "other" forum said that everything was cleared with a reflash, again find it very hard to belive! ** **Note, I haven't read the "other" forum since before xmas and since there has been a few drinks between then and now, errors and omissions are expected

Walk all that way? Check http://www.whereis.com.au/ for directions. Should be able to grab a tram all the way up Elizabeth street to near where the dealer is. From memory the trams stop right in front of the dealership.
-
Not a chance! Even with little items mentioned in this thread, the 6 speed is just so much better to drive with. Autos are for taxi's
-
that's a good point. If Trip data is saved somewhere, you have to wonder what else is? Good question!
-
While I'd like to try it, I can't help to think that it will only get worse after they've "played" with it!! "If it aint broke, don't fix it" ....or in fords case "If its broke, they'll break it more!"
-
Yep, that's what I'm wondering. Anyone that's used a computer before would know that as soon as you change something, the date and time you did it is logged. Even if you flashed the stock tune back into the PCM say this morning and drove to the dealer so it populated all those "records", I'd still say that when the dealer plugged their diagnostic equipment in, it would be possible for them to see that the current tune/data only goes back to the same time you did the stock flash this morning. I don't know how creditable it would be to say you disconnected the battery etc but surely they'd raise an eyebrow eventually?
-
I'm interested to see what happens when these edited cars make a visit to a ford dealer. I know its been said that if you flash back the stock tune Ford is none the wiser but I just need some convincing

Haven't read any SP9000 threads on here yet but I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks they're living proof of the phrase "You get what you pay for" not always being the case!!! The car tramlines and under any form of moderate cornering they squeal like nothing I've ever heard before (~32 right upto 40psi). So steer clear of them IMO. While the BA I had before this one, was not turbo nor fitted with 18's, I think the factory SP3000's did a great job. Their performance was more than adequate and you always see them on special for around $230? Milage was also excellent in my case as they gave me 50% more than I'd ever achieved previously (Altho most here wouldn't agree with 30k being a milestone ) The last set on my old BA were Bridgestone Potenza G-Grid 3's, which were excellent performers in the wet and dry. No idea on the cost comparison to the SP3000's however as fleet got the bill  Only driven Jap cars that weigh some 400-500kg less than our boats so won't comment on performance. One thing I will say is, steer clear of loose stone driveways. Those F1's seem to pick up every little rock and when you drive off you hear this annoying "tick tick tick" noise
