  1. So still no tinkering by fleet drivers?
  2. I had the upgraded wheel (liked it) on my first turbo and the standard one (hated it) on the 2nd. But I reckon the standard wheel on the FG is as good as the upgraded BA one, actually feels a bit nicer IMO.
  3. Anyone tried an iPhone 3G yet? The accessories page on the Ford Website doesn't list compatible models?
  4. Yeah I found the same in my BA's, mostly in the rain. The dry wasn't so bad. But this is like 10x worse. Only done 1500kms so far, I'll keep trying
  5. Tried the modulating but I'm still getting a lot of axle tramp in 1st and and sometimes after the change into 2nd under hard acceleration. Sounds like the diff cradle is gonna smash into a hundred pieces! Initially I thought it was the quality of the road but tried it in a few places now with the same result. So I got a fault somewhere there or a decent set of polyurethane bushes will sort it out. Either way I'll be getting the dealer to look at it during the 3000km checkup?
  6. Yeah I know, damn kents abusing forums for information! The answer will show up eventually. Providing the thing doesn't break on me there isn't much I'll have to say. Especially given I can't modify it but the thing has more than enough grunt to keep me amused that's for sure!
  7. For a moderator you should know not to bother posting something stupid like that. If you don't understand the problem or have anything useful to say, pipe down. Yeah couldn't find any thing fuse related. For the BA one, someone posted the install instructions of the additional loom module. Hopefully someone else figures it out before I do!
  8. From what I can gather the ICC functions are the normal auto modes which is a standard feature of the car such as leaving them on for x mins after you get out etc.
  9. OK so my employer has a stipulation that all cars are delivered with the daytime running/always on lights feature. In short, ignition on = headlights on. Putting the headlight stalk switch to any position does not effect it. My previous cars (BA/BAII's) used an additional loom under the steering wheel area near the fuses. This must be a standard ford bit of gear as it integrates well and came with an info card from Ford stating how the system works. On those cars, you'd fumble under the dash, finding a matchbox sized plastic casing wrapped in foam and open the cap at one end exposing a standard blade fuse and removing it. You could then leave the headlight stalk in the "AUTO" position and let the sensor determine when the headlights were/weren't needed. Fast forward to FG....can't find anything similar under the dash in the same area :( Manual does not indicates any of the fuses in the panel relate to this feature. Probably early days but hopefully someone comes up with a solution!
  10. I played with it all the way home today and don't think the sound quality is any better or worse than the previous models premium sound. The rest of the kit, ICC and new features make it a step forward. You can't have everything for $45k. Fast, Cheap, Features/Quality. Pick 2!
  11. I don't think its good enough that they don't fit bloody auto up/down switches for the power windows either or don't fit better brakes...but every other car has compromises too.
  12. Will do and thanks for the help with the SIDO's too!
  13. Had premium sound in my BA XR6 and BAII XR6T. For factory systems, they were good enough. But I played with the FG system for a bit this morning, spent most of my time with it off listening to the engine/tyre noises hehe. So far at moderate volume (20-22 I think) it sounded pretty good (CD full of VBR MP3's) to me. If I can manage to drive slightly less stupid on the way home I'll pay more attention to the sound....
  14. LOL yeh I know, but my foot only works in on/off mode. Got plenty sets of lights between work and home to perfect the launch. Its all part of the run in procedure!
  15. LOL the Fleet guy said that if I wanted them to ring me first, so what you said without saying it haha. I rang him and he said $75, hopefully he was talking XR mats and not standard ones. Did a quick test of the launch control too, revs were around 3500-4000 I think, let the clutch go and it was sort of an anti climax. Ford still cannot make a car that doesn't axle tramp/diff going stupid/whatever you want to call it. Had to back off as it sounded like the rear end was about to come thru the back seat!!! Gonna give it another shot on the way home from work but from the lunch time thrashing it got, seems to need some throttle control to avoid/minimise the clunks and rear end going crazy. Its definitely got some balls though, lets you hang the tail out with TC on so will be good for the people who have a false sense of confidence. Needs a few more thrashings to get rid of that new part burning off crap smell. But the gearbox is sweet!
  16. Picked mine up today. But forgot all about the fact its fleet, they don't give me mats. Gonna have to swing past on the way home and get a set, the plastic under the pedals is farken annoying! What are they worth, $50?
  17. Yep. I think they call them "Daytime Running Lights", lots of big fleets do it sprouting it as a safety idea. Pretty sure all the cop cars do it. Ignition on = lights on. Put the lights to any setting you want, they stay on. BA/BF used an additional loom to achieve it as its not a function of the standard car/ICC. I hope this remains the same with the FG as it was a 2min job to defeat meaning you can use the Auto lights on feature as tab mentioned above.
  18. The install an additional loom under the dash that makes the headlights "always on" if the car is running even if the headlight stalk is set to off. Given the car has auto-on headlights, its a stupid so called "safety" item. It was easily disabled on BA's by finding the little box attached to the loom containing a blade fuse and removing it. You can then let the auto-on feature decide when the lights need to come on.
  19. Some chick from fleet emailed me to say there was a delay and we should monitor that spreadsheet for further info. Little while later I emailed her back and said the spreadsheet hadn't been updated in ages and she replied same day with my SIDO. (PM me your details and I'll fwd the info) Anyways got an update. Fleet sent me the info to say car is at the dealers (got VIN etc), spoke to dealer but they're waiting for fleet to send them the drivers kit (most importantly, fuel cards hehe), so should be picking it up next week sometime. Wasn't that worried about the delay, just rang them to make sure they don't fit those old man mud spats and she said same thing Senna did about them being on backorder so don't worry.
  20. love your work That'd be the one hehe. order was placed end of Feb when FG specs were confirmed. Did it purposely before the pricing changed so I got a good deal compared to what they became after they were re-added in May. Given the standard 16wk deal, original delivery date was June 15th. I was checking that spreadsheet all the time but every time I looked it was still the May/June data and my SIDO wasn't even listed (Plus how did you pull the data out of that thing without my EX number hehe?). Had to get it from some chick in fleet. Besides, Senna is far more reliable
  21. Can I get one last update Senna hehe (SIDO 353934). Delivery has to be soon? Also, mines Fleet with a rather large company that does the bloody 'Always On' lights and fits the mud spats (along with not allowing bloody tinted windows). 2 questions: 1. Is the always on thing same as BA? last 2 cars I just pulled the blade fuse out to defeat the system. 2. Please tell me they dont have mud spats available hehe, had a bastard of a time finding the lugs to replace the ones I broke removing the spats as I didnt have any tool close enough to remove the original ones without breaking them!
  22. If the useless idiots at Ford/Toll/Dealer/Whoever give me my car, I'll take you up on this. Have done it for the last 3 new cars I picked up from a dealer, so this car won't be any different. Run in periods don't exist when its a fleet car
  23. LOL, could be a part of their v8 supercar contract with the Expensive Daewoo team haha
  24. Just spoke to a fleet person at my nominated dealer and had them look up my SIDO (353934). Was told that the car is still in final assembly and I should expect another 2 weeks for delivery? Sorta confused, last week it was ready for shipping, now its not? Anyone getting any closer to taking delivery yet?
  25. lol they probably had to melt it down and start again!
