Hey looking for some advice on the fuel filter when running e85.. Should I be getting a reusable one or is it best just to use the stock paper one and replace it more often (how often does it need to be replaced with intermittent tanks of e85?) What reusable ones have people out there used? There is a golebys part for $90 or earls for around $180, they are both 40 micron so should be same same? Is 40 micron acceptable? Theres a KPM one which is finer again but its like 300 bucks which seems a bit ridiculous to me Thanks in advance

I had nankang ar1 on the rear but only little 235 cos that's all they in stock that would fit on my spare 17"s. They were ok after second gear. Might run them in 265 next year on my normal 18" rims instead. 263 is killer for the little gtx!! I wonder if it was the bigger gen 2 one ?

Thanks man. Is on e85 so around 340rwkw. Just rolled off the line with no stall up at all so probably could have squeezed a few more kmh out of it but with very few runs I wanted to make sure I hooked up and got a clean run as that was my last run of the day before the big boys took over Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

I did. 242 kmh over the 1000m which I was pretty happy with considering the stock baby turbo and exhaust and that killer head wind.

You can't You'll have to make it or get someone to make it. I cut one out of sheet metal in the end

Fmd... Penrite racing brake fluid as mentioned above, freshly changed the day before by the mechanic. This was months ago, I can't remember a play by play of what happened to the car, I just remember brakes not working well and lots of smoke, the pedal still worked just required more pressure. All I know is that I won't be buying them again, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone else to use on the track, if you guys want to use them on the track go for it. I won't.

They would just lose their ability to pull the car up. Pedal went to mush. Mechanic had just serviced it and put in fresh penrite racing brake fluid for me. Each time I came off the 3 fast laps 1 cool down lap smoke was wafting out of them. This was a pretty short tight track (collie), little time to cool down the brakes before you were slamming them on again. Wouldn't buy again.

I feel like with the amount of dust the bendix ultimates make, you'd want them to hold up on the track as well. IMO they don't at all for any more than a lap or two.

$$$$ Zf rebuild done, got to take it back and get rev limiter taken off, fuel pump and e85 retune (hope I wont need valve springs), tail shaft done and a set of ar-1s for the rears. Why do cars have to be so fun..
-
After having ultimates for a year I wouldn't buy them again. They stop great on the street but the dust is out of control. Despite what some may say they are not suitable for any track work at all. One lap of collie race track and they were fading, 3 laps and when I came off all 8 were literally smoking, and basically no longer working, every time I went out.

Wow that's dodgy did you get any refund from the first tuner? Can't speak highly enough of Monsta torque either. Rob was busy as with 4 cars in the workshop still took the time to talk to me for ages and explain everything he does. His rebuilds are actually a bargain in comparison to others. I even tried regular transmission shops for a cheap rebuild you can't find a better price than MT for all the work he does

2750

Yeah that's why they make you do 1500km with a rev limiter for the box to relearn Haha Marco thanks mate think the wife will get stuck doing it though
-
Got the car back with stage 2 built zf. Maaan that gearbox is so much tighter now. Love it. Now to drive 1500km stop start so I can get the rev limiter taken off.. no easy task considering I do around 3000km a year usually.

Got a hold of them. Emails I <3 Bananased apparently. Booked in for rebuild
-
Zf rebuild
-
I assume they're just too busy, was just wondering if anyone else has had trouble getting quotes etc
-
xft is around 5 minutes from my house it's just way more expensive. I also had my car tuned by monsta torque and it's great so no reason not to go back to them..
-
Nah trying to get in for some work and no deal.. that or they don't like me
-
Anyone been in to Monsta Torque lately? Falcon tuning business must be booming
-
I'd be putting an lsd in it before coilovers..
-
Nah. Been cooked since I got it tuned 3 years ago. It's fine most of the time just shifting into 4th at full throttle slips, can hesitate into second gear sometimes as well. And it makes a whirring kinda noise and stuff when its cold. Not a huge problem on the street but seeing as Racewars will need the higher gears I'm gonna get a rebuild
-
I'm heading down. Looking forward to it.. not looking forward to the 4.5k+ zf rebuild first though
-
You used them? They're pretty pricy and need the rims a long time
