  1. Your car has had work done to it? Does the traction control actually kick in? It could already be disabled.
  2. Damn, why can't it be released before next weekend? Looks good, can see some fun happening next year Bathurst weekend
  3. I've got clients (different line of business) where if something like that happens I choose to wear the time and fix it myself. I've got others where I'd charge them only disbursements. I've got others where I'd charge them double because they annoy me. In almost all cases though they all know it wasn't my fault but that I'm the one who has to fix it for them. What I charge them at that point is determined by the relationship they have with me. In a case like this (new customer, maybe repeat/long term) I'd probably look at only charging what it would cost me to pay the bloke who has to rectify the issue (hourly fee if he's prevented from doing other work fixing this mishap). If it was someone who'd been trouble then they'd probably been charged my rate for fixing it. Long time/regular then I would have done it in my spare time for a slab (while they drank half of it watching me do the work) Basically OP - you got charged what it was worth it to the mech to fix the issue - up to you to accept it or whinge. Strike a relationship with them and they may look after you next time an extra bit needs to be done.
  4. How long's the warranty on a Gramps? Was he modded?
  5. Taking off in 1st is almost reason enough for me - so bloody annoying. Should have remembered to add that to the list I worked out with Bel this arvo
  6. Just settled on a date to hand in the divorce papers with the ex - we're going to go, hand them in and then get smashed together - it's a good thing
  7. Business losses this year :( Meant I claimed back some tax so I can have a play
  8. Ford felt the vibration - kept it for a few days, came up empty and put in a request to HQ - job's still open.   They tried a fair few things and gave up - said they didn't have a T in stock to see if it was normal or not lol.   Am tipping that if they can't work out what the hell the problem is then they can't refuse a warranty after I get a tune ;)
  9. Tax return :D Almost $10k - got to get an extra spring in your step when it's $6k more than you were expecting
  10. Yeah - it's through yourselves I'm getting the gas and tune - spoken to Bel a few times and she's told me to wait a little longer each time (to iron out any warranty kinks)   Last/first service with you found a warranty issue I'm still waiting on Ford to fix (vibration/pulse once up to fan temp) - once they do I can move forward and gas/tune.   Am figuring the cat is a no-brainer to have done (correct me if I'm wrong)
  11. Any point (or reason not to) to adding the cat to a stock car?   I'll be getting the vehicle tuned and put on gas later in the year (after a warranty issue is sorted) and will be jumping in on the group buy for the cat if it goes ahead. Just wondering if it's something to chuck on the shelf til later or if it's worth installing on a stocky.
  12. Does too large a difference in profile front/rear on the FG cause any issues with traction control or the auto's holding gears? I think it does L/R, but not sure F/R (car can think you're in a corner due to different wheel speed and not shift up a gear etc)
  13. The middle pick looks a bit different from the 1st and last
  14. Not sure if mentioned, but I reckon you guys have found the real reason the auto's are quicker than the manuals - extra pedal (clutch) = extra weight = slower speed
  15. Pfft - I bet you go the soft option and combine them with socks as well. Absolutely zero feel or feedback.
  16. My old tuner recommended Crocs as an intermediate. Needless to say I've replaced my tuner.
  17. Proper warmup was followed - they did suffer a bit of heatsoak at the end of the run though. Repeated runs wouldn't be recommended.
  18. Sorry - was talking about the sets of rubber shown above your last comment, not the boots themselves.
  19. I've got a couple of used sets at home you can have cheap - 90% tread left, only used for a single event. edit: they are good for a speed test/run, but I've had a couple blow out during extended testing/long distance trials.

    Coffee

Anyone using the pod/capsule machines - I just got a Breville milk warmer/frother to replace the Aldi one I had been using. Frigging awesome. This one Adjustable temperature, large capacity and easy to clean. Can now make 2 large mugs of coffee and use the single jug of milk instead of having to heat up another for the second mug.
  21. Just take it easy when you first get a new tyre. The shop will probably warn you when you get it, but they are really slippery until scrubbed in - especially if the road's a bit wet.
  22. I go with the same rear and front as much as possible. If it's just the front you need to replace then use the same as your rear (unless they're a dodgy brand/model) Wait to look at changing them both until the rear is due and do both at once.
