  1. Can you flash back to original? Only other hint I could find was someone who seemed in the same (or similar boat) and solved it by updating the Xcal unit to its latest firmware. May want to speak to your tuner before doing anything that drastic - could be something else entirely, or could lock the unit out of your car if done incorrectly of something. Maybe disconnect the battery overnight and try again in the morning? edit: check for blown fuses - maybe ciggy lighter/12v or another one blew at the wrong time and lost the power to the OBD port. edit2: or email their tech support - may have an easy answer/fix for what the error is
  2. Understand that totally - would do the same if I was in the same boat (get my stuff sorted before causing larger ripples while they have my vehicle) Don't know what else to say - sounds like a nightmare. A total nightmare. Have your vent now while you need to and then point fingers/tell the full story once it's resolved at your end. Would be interesting to hear the other side
  3. Was it the one you mention at the end of your "My engine went boom" thread?
  4. Probably also need hose/piping upgraded from stock plastic for even the simplest tune - probably some other bits too.
  5. Hope mine's not in this category Ratter A decent starting point for some info and direction would be here.
  6. Cheapest (and most important) is the tune. If you're only after a one off improvement then an HP tune would probably be the cheapest (no other hardware required, just an ecu flash by the tuner). If you want to run a couple of different tunes or have the ability to switch back and forth to stock then an Xcal3 is needed (and preferred by many) Should get you around 250+?? rwkw, but drive so much better (and even be more economical) across the whole rev range. Any work you do after this will require a re-tune so you're better doing as much as you can all at once. From there there is a few other mods that can take you up to 280, 300 and 320+rwkw (about where the standard turbo runs out of puff). You asked for cheapest - tune only is the only thing that satisfies that requirement. Give a budget and you'll get some answers that fit within it. More important is to work out where you want to end up and work with your tuner to find the best way to get there. ZF tune will be an extra $500 or so, but also requires an Xcal3 which is another $800 or so. (look up the Xcal3 to see the benefits they have over an HP tune). Probably not something you need unless you're unhappy with something the ZF does or want to improve it. Heaps of info here on what people have achieved with different levels of work and budgets. Keep in mind that any changes you make after the first tune will require a retune - be patient, do your research, find a tuner you trust and work with them to get the best result and insure you only buy things once.

  9. Only good thing is it's Friday and you can wipe out the memory of it tonight?
  10. Pics of tonight's dinner: Jalapeno Poppers for entree Wagyu Porterhouse
  11. Am sure Dags will post a pic of it on his tumblr - bit too raw for on here :( I got told
  12. Meat and veg - all covered in the 1 condiment
  13. Puts things into perspective. They probably write off more cars during manufacturing than we produce in total. No way we can compete with that - we're just a small, boutique car maker in the grand scheme of things.
  14. From a different forum: Bacon Salt Love the style of the recipe write up almost as much as what the outcome is edit: I don't think it needs a login to read - if it does I'll copy and paste, but it really deserves to be viewed as written
  15. Haha - didn't even think of them Baconflip
  16. Cheers - thanks for the explanation. Makes sense when put that way
  17. Just found an awesome, easy recipe to make your own BACON SALT every food from now on until I die is going to be sprinkled with this concoction, Soy sauce on dim sims - pfft - I've got BACON SALT Tomato sauce on pies - nup - got BACON SALT Sugar in coffee - nah - BACON SALT
  18. Sent you a PM Freeze, best I could do on short notice
  19. Or just not take tablets that have the word "thistle" in them and expect it not to sting coming out? edit: or get rid of the ring finger from the frozen hand and change your name to freeze_dp
  20. Newb question, but would the wrong intercooler for the application have reverse results? EG - sct911 as posted above running a stage 2 or a 1000bhp cooler when all he really needs is a stage 1? and getting a stage 3 to fix it not help? I guess what I'm asking is could too big an intercooler for the airflow your engine is breathing mean it heats up (too long in the box or something - doesn't move through quick enough and ends up storing heat)?
  21. Reads like overkill for the small turbo You prepping for a big snail or wanted one with the lot?
  22. "No officer - it wasn't me" "Dude - there's a trail of rubber beads from your mums house, to the milk bar, to your girlfriends house and then through the speedtrap 50kms ago that leads right to your rear tyres. If Hansle and Grettle had 60 tread wear on their sandles they wouldn't have got lost"
  23. Invo's seem the safe bet for what I'm after (daily driver, rain, hail or shine. Freeway or hills) If I want something to have "fun" with then a set of 18's with grip will be cheaper and last longer than trying to get the best sticking tyres on the 19's and using them for general duties. Plus - I love the stock rims - a set of wide 18's to swap out would give me the best of both worlds
  24. No worries Am headed to Adelaide next month - wanted to see if anyone wanted to show me round the hills on the Saturday or was up for a feed on the Friday. Could have been a good excuse for a few to get together for a catchup. Posting anywhere else drowns a question like that out. I have sent a message to the SA cruise control, but (no offence to him) it's a bit below his pay grade to worry about (and only sent it earlier tonight - he probably wont see it til later).
  25. Ah - my son (14 now) has followed Illy for years. Have taken him to Sydney to see him a couple of years ago and Adelaide last year (only ones that he's done under 18/all ages gigs at) We live in Frankston and half his songs mention the Frankston train ride lol The kid doesn't ask for much and is pretty mature with the way he thinks, so the trip for the show is sort of a way of acknowledging it. Plus it gets me a day or 2 cruising the Adelaide hills :D
