Just got news that my son is coming back to live with me and goto school down this way :D Best news I've had in years - Am over the moon. Trying to contain excitement though - his mum has made the same choice before, but pulled out at the last minute. This time it feels definite though. :D :D :D

Could be - perhaps the "Spare/second" key lets you individualise the MFD settings for each driver?

Did the guy who tuned it give a reason as to why it wasn't holding boost or what was holding it back? Did he say the flapper and actuator would be the next step?

Yeah - those were the pipes I meant. Coming from the question of the "cheapest" possible then (other than tune only) I'd probably look at pipes, injectors and tune (drilling a hole in bottom of airbox gets suggested often too) Add in an inline turbo filter for "cheap" insurance. If I couldn't afford those two safety feature (pipes and filter) then I'd probably stay stock rather than risk damage. It's not like the car is a pig as it is now.

Mick's posted in the thread, so will defer to him, but from what I understand the standard pipe is good up to the limit of the small turbo - except for the cat. Injectors and cat with a tune (maybe opening the airbox to help it breath better at both ends) sounds like a good stage to be at for a while/first round. Make sure you speak to your tuner - they may suggest a preferred line of attack or think the cat overkill for this stage. Again though - the pipes might be an issue and one of the first things replaced.

Was thinking as much. Sometimes a bit of humour brings a bit of needed light to a bad situation Would have scared the crap out of the poor fellow. Be a while before he forgets and lives it down.
