Internet, social media, trash current affairs TV shows etc 20 years ago you'd only know about a couple of turds in your own neighbourhood and the occasional incident you'd see on your travels. Now you hear all about all the turds in your own neighbourhood, my neighbourhood, everyone elses neighbourhood, as well as those in other states etc. And you hear about them instantly and every day - with someone carrying on as if it's "The worst thing I've ever seen", "OMG, how can anyone let their kids do this", "Click 'like' for police to do their job and stop all this" etc. That said - the drugs etc that are getting through to the kids/teens are a lot more aggressive than back then. I think Ice is even overtaking mull in a few of the country areas etc Yeah - every generation has looked down at the future ones and shaken their heads, but I do think that things are getting a bit more "raw" as time goes on. edit: add to it the political correctness etc - a whack over the ears now gets the adult up on charges instead of an additional kick up the butt for the kid when they get home to their parents and young punks in the street are "troubled teens" now rather than "sh*theads"

Am seriously considering heading this way myself. Should have a decent tax return to cover the handling improvements on the car this year which will pretty much finish everything I was looking to do to get the car how I want it. Is there anything else (suspension wise) that should be done at the same time that I should be looking to budget for to make sure I knock it all over with the one session? Yep Bring in public caning for indiscretions like these - for the kid and/or the parent of the kid if the kid is underage. They know they can get away with whatever they want because they have nothing to take from them. Put the threat of a bit of pain and public humiliation over the head of the parents and they may just start taking a proactive interest in what their kids are up to. "So... WTF are you going to do about it" "Not my fault the kids a menace" "So sue me - can't take my government payment/housing away" would change real quick edit: says me, who just got his centerlink family payment application approved. Does that mean I now have to send my kids out with a spraycan after dark?

Finally - over 2 months for what is meant to take "maybe over 3 weeks, could be up to 5 weeks" centerlink have processed that my son now lives with me Didn't realise they'd be back paying me to keep him lol - today is a good day, I might even let him eat dinner tonight Now all I need to do is get child support to register the change - they still show me as having to fork out money to his mum. (doubt I'll be seeing anything come the other way, but want my name to stop showing that I have a commitment) Getting the child support mob to take my name off as owing was the main thing I wanted to do - couldn't do that though til centerlink processed the change :S
