Maybe try Lysaghts/Bluescope (manufacturer of Colourbond) "installer" list If some of the ones you called are on there I'm sure they'd be happy to hear the shocking service (and may be able to tee up someone) http://www.lysaght.com/where-to-buy-lysaght-products

Figured it couldn't hurt - not sure if was a bad batch or the fuel itself that was causing the issues Remember, I also had a knock sensor code coming up on the xcal as well.

Fingers crossed then :D

On another note: Chucked on the 95 tune - rough as guts - like I was running a real lumpy cam. Stalled Topped up with 98 and octane booster (to try to take into account/negate the remaining P100 in the tank) 20km later - smooth as the proverbial babies behind. Fingers crossed, but I'm tipping that was my problem. Fuel trims should correct themselves or should I be dropping the car in for a kick at some stage?

Cheers Mick I think the quicker and steeper rate the boost comes on in Don's shows the differences him and me were chatting about perfectly. Why he's fighting for traction for the first half of the strip, while I'm flat to the floor the whole way. Will love to see his 60' once he gets some stickier tyres and nails it perfectly off the line. Cool to see both IAT's following the same line (and closing) with the different ambients. Couldn't believe how quick the one with the stock intercooler rose on a single run. Comparisons like this that I can relate to real world experiences go so much further towards tying together the little bits I pick up along the way.

Did you get merged with/bought out by another company or something? Seems like a lot you're giving up with exactly zero gains :s

Ditto Pixy, Colourbond too. Must be a lucrative business when they don't bother returning calls for more work.

Ah - right you are. Optimax is what I was thinking - what caused the fouling. Think they replaced it with V-Power (thus the "V" word confusion) Was in the late 90's - damn, feels like yesterday
-
They told me I'd never have to worry about top end lubrication Put over 100k on the bike over the 3 years I had it with no issues so didn't cause any long term damage lol Only other "fuel" problem I had with it was from Shell Vortex fouling the plugs a few times.

Nah, still the same $20 of P100 - wouldn't be surprised if the P100 had been sitting at the servo for a while too. Testing would have been on the LPG though. Probably 1/4 tank of P100/98 mix left now - put $20 of 98 in last week.. Will fill up with 98 and run it out on my 95 tune. Am tipping/hoping the car will sort itself out once that tank's cleaned itself out. If this ends up being the cause/issue I'm feeling almost as stupid as the time I filled my bike with diesel. Thinking something catastrophic had happened I trailered it to the shop. Pricks couldn't tell me over the phone what the real cause was - they were laughing so hard (just to clarify how I could be so stupid - early morning, usual servo - half asleep usual pump was busy so went to the one next to it was a normal trigger on the same bowser as 95 and 91, just a blue handle - none of the "rab proof" locks they have now)

Definitely my fault - I put it in Was either that or E10. Tipped it was the lesser of 2 evils

Watched a few episodes of Orange - gave up - lost whatever it was that had me in the first season. Think it diluted itself starting to tell 20 different stories with each being a main character instead of 1 story with 20 different and interesting side characters or something. Keep pulling myself back from starting Suits - really should take the plunge. Dominion - no worse than any of the other stuff that's out - also is no better. Hasn't stopped me watching it yet. Tyrant could be OK - if it ends up as a decent into darkness. If it goes all saviour then I'm done. Potential is there for a slow, week by week chipping away at the main guys morals and resolve towards where atrocities seem the natural progression. That'd be something fresh and keep me watching.

Poor guy - gets to do the time and didn't even get a glimpse of the crime. There should be placard waving rednecks out the front of dealerships waving "Don't do Ming" posters like there are out the front of abortion clinics and like the Westboro do at funerals and gay marriages in the States.

Could explain why the trims were out when I dropped it off the other week - and why the car was confused User error could explain it all

Just the one pic do or do you want more?

Just mention to the Sister/Sister in law (his wife) that they usually get bit titted blonde bimbo's to try and con the blokes to go for the "Ming Package" and that they usually get the suckers (don't let her know that you know that he'd already gotten stung)

I've found this to be the best "primer" of where to start with the FG's so far (and will keep posting it until a better one is found) and give a decent starting idea of what you're looking at for the 300rwkw's Heaps of good tuners around - both on and off the forum. Also some that are not so good so best to ask for confirmation that the one you end up choosing isn't one of the duds If coming to Melbourne for a tune I can highly recommend Mick and Pitlane - have looked after me and my car since its first service and through a fair bit of additional work; are VERY active on this forum and am yet to find a bad report or unhappy customer of theirs - including ones from much further afield than yourself They have a section in the Sponsors forum - have a read through there as well as the 300rwkw forum for some ideas of what people are doing that'll be close to what you're after. Depending on where you're headed to in Melbourne there could also be someone more convenient, but the extra K's to visit Mick wouldn't be unrewarded. Best off holding off on any other mods at home until you've spoken to some people and gotten and end plan in site - better to pay once for the right item than spend money now to replace it at a later date with the hardware that you actually need.

Hey Mick - just a Friday evening question for you - not expecting any time spent on the query over the weekend - will give you a call Monday. Slight hint of the roughness to the tune back again today, but I think I may be closer to a cause/reason Am probably on the same tank of petrol I was on when the issues started (or at least topped up the same tank) and everything was fine since it was in for a cleanout the other week. Today when leaving work there was a little bit of the hesitation back in the system and thinking back - the only thing I can think of different is that I ran it on petrol last night for about 10-15km when the gas ran out. There was a time probably about when the initial problems started that I was also out of gas - the pump wouldn't let me chuck any in so I had to chuck in a $20 of united P100 (only other fuel at the servo) and cruise the 30 odd kms to the next servo. Could switching back across to that last night for a while (instead of the usual 20 seconds or so on startup) - either because it's P100 or a dodgy tank of fuel introduce something to the system or tune that could cause the roughness? Will fill up with 98 tomorrow and run the 95 tune to clear out the fuel system and was just wondering if any of that could point to a reason for what was experienced? EG - if the engine notices the crap fuel on startup it will run crap for the rest of that session; if it doesn't notice by the time it switches to LPG it runs fine? Anything I should add to the fuel? Injector cleaner/octane booster etc for that tank? Feel free to tell me I'm a dumb arse for using the P100 etc and lucky I didn't do something catastrophic if that's the case too.

So it will fit right in with the current crop of crap that's out now

Haha - just received 7 tickets to the Swans/Carlton game at the SCG in my email from Ezi-Tickets. Only problem is - I didn't order them and don't live in Sydney Luckily for the person who did they have a very unusual name - which was easy to google and forward on the tickets to. Am sure there would have been 6 other people not happy with him if I'd let that one slip through to the keeper. (single letter mistyped in the @companyname.com.au sent it through to my "catch all") You'd reckon if spending $450 odd on tickets online you'd spell your email address correctly. edit: just got a reply from him "Yep" Well screw you buddy - next time I'm seeing the show. May even thank you for the tickets in an email the following Monday
