When I was living/working in the CBD I had an Indian restaurant in the basement below me that all the Indian cricketers would frequent when they were in Melbourne. Hidden, dingy looking place - but you should have seen the guest book - it was as legit as anything. Brick tandoori oven and everything (in the basement mind you) I went from someone totally scared of the El'Maco burger and spicy fries McDonalds did and the Zinger burgers to someone who can't go more than a few days without something with enough kick to make the old me faint from fear. Lamb rogan josh, bismati and garlic naan (would add the cucumber dip thing Roti?? and a papadum) is definitely one of my faves - such a simple meal, but when done right it ticks all the boxes and then some.
