WMMFG: EOFY done for another year June is usually about 2 months worth of work, with the 2nd months worth being in the last few days - this year was no different. Next week will still be busy, but the rush/urgency is now over. Just cracked a beer that is well deserved

Yeah, not that much room unfortunately - 2x80's in the front and 1 in the rear

Farkers on the road tonight pissed me off. Drove the kids to Yea - wet roads, windy, dark, sh*t night basically. Sat on cruise control at 100 through the hills - wanker was up my arse, 100m behind, up my arse the whole way. Whenever we got to an overtaking lane he'd slow down to remain well behind me - why????? Next one was a truck - <60km/s hour through some twisites while he was in front of the row of traffic - then up my arse through the twisties once I got ahead of him (100km/h)

Need to find a case next to put the hand me downs into. Have still got the first case I bought myself and would love to be able to use it again, but I don't think everything will fit or have enough cooling/airflow without major mods

Was 5 deg a half hour ago when I checked

Might have a look at the Division again this weekend. Really enjoyed it for a while there, but got dragged away from it by real life. Have the house to myself from tonight til Monday so will definitely be some "me" time in there :D Current setup: (just waiting in all the new bits to pull out the MB, CPU, GPU's, HDD's etc - will be putting them into another case and giving this one an overdue clean for the new gear)

My audio corner Sennheiser HD700 and RS185 (wireless) Creative X7 DAC/AMP O2 and O2/ODAC amp and dac/amp AUNE S16 amp/dac Creative EMU XM7 Speakers Yes - it's dusty. Also got V-Moda M100's, Senn HD598 and HD 650, AudioTechnica M50's and AKG K7XX's floating around

You're right - just double checked - it's a 16 port gigabyte switch - it was a replacement for a hub about a decade ago. Pretty much transferred the office wiring setup to my ensuite 18months ago when I decided to work from home. A couple of years earlier and I'd be running 10base-t (actually pulled out twisted pair to put in cat-5 when I moved the office here)

Bought a new WiFi router tonight from Officeworks, had a couple of beers after I got home and my brain has fizzled - can't set the MoFo up for crap :S Think I'll wait til the weekend and take the whole network back to basics and build it again (need to plan it out properly - have got the modem/wifi/router, another wifi/router, couple of switches and a hub and feeding a Win server box running a couple of VM's and the various PC's and devices all setup with the "click things til they work" mindset)

Radeon AIO were the one's I lusted over - did TV shiz on the PC etc The boxes the cards came in were bigger than the PC's we were putting them into lol I got lost for a while there with capture cards, firewire and surround sound soundcards - spent $2k plus in early 2000 on pinnacle "firewire" cards that never actually worked - a year later we had it all standard :( I always used to be on the tail end of stuff - would buy into it just before it got superseded, or just before the drivers for it didn't work on the next version of Windows.

Athalon XP was awesome - there was a period there where ATI and AMD both (while still separate) kicked arse. They had the goods on both Intel and Nvidia - the XP series of CPU's and the 9xx series of AMD cards were the biz AMD focused on x64 too early and ATI went tock instead of tick - stuffed them both :( My most rewarding GPU I ever had was an ATI Radeon 950 Pro that all it needed was a bios flash to turn into a fully legit 970 Pro Geforce 2MX?? was my first real GPU - it let me play Quake? or was it Unreal? GF3 then the GF4MX taught me that an extra number didn't mean better :( - have been wary ever since. (they were before the ATI 950) Not sure if the ATI was before or after the Nvidia 4xxx (oooh - they had TI's) era - but was green from that time til I went the AMD 7970's Have been Intel CPU for myself since the Athalon days, but often buy/recommend AMD CPU's for others where it's the smart purchase - never for myself though :S Am sure I had an S3 Virge at some stage - Think Voodoo did 3d only - needed a primary card for the normal 2d stuff? And - f*ck soundcards - SB especially

There was one like ^^ that was an actual ashtray - like a proper, push the button and the ash tray pops out for your ciggy

Was wondering what a Camira computer would be like - would have got PCOTY and be hated by everyone who had a clue Hmmm - sounds like Mac

Different direction What was your first computer? (as a kid (parents)/as an adult (yours)) I had a Tandy TRS80 Colour Computer?? as a kid. Cassette tape player for loading programs (double speeded that MOFO) and ATARI like roms Pentium 60?? with 8meg ram?? and 1.2gb hard drive was my first PC that I got myself (am probably way off in the specs)

The dual 980's fall below 60fps a fair bit at 4k - even without everything maxed. Tearing and stuttering too. They were unbeatable (100+fps) on triple 1920x1080's - so will delegate that system to the triple screen setup New system should laugh at 4K Spent the best part of 20+ years bending over backwards for everyone else - and getting burnt or burnt out. End of the day things like these are my treats Only really have a couple of hobbies left - cars, bikes and gadgets - as long as the kids are fed and clothed then I allow myself to splurge I've tried several times to head away from Windows, but there is just too much business critical stuff on windows for me to spend time away from it long enough to get my head around. I was hoping that the Steam OS would be the boot up the arse that was needed, but from all things I've read the performance isn't there?

Will see if the urge drags me there - I usually do things big for a couple of weeks then forget all about them til the next round lol Will depend more on the noise from the GPU's than how far I can push them - my 7970's were obnoxiously loud - 980's were silent. If I go for 1 I'll go the whole hog FTFY
