I only notice slipage in 4th at low speeds. Oh well, I guess I just have to hold 3rd to redline

I'm wondering how loud this noise is? I have my CD's playing at around 10 to 14... Can you still hear the noise over the CD player? I had a problem for about a week where I couldnt shift from 6th to 5th but after a week of "raming it", everything returned to normal. The car has 11000 km now and unless something goes bang, I'm pretty happy with it. My complaint is the rev limiter and how the car massively backfires when I hit the limiter...The smoke from the backfire looks like a burnout in the rear view mirror. Oh, and the clutch sucks.....If I put my foot down in fourth at about 60kph, the tacho goes wild but there is no forward momentm.

I got a phase 1 and a week later got phase 2. After phase 1 I had approx 230 - 240rwkw (cant remember now) from std of 190rwkw. After phase 2 my car is at 272rwkw. Phase 1 is something you WILL notice out on the road. I have never been back to Ford for servicing..err, I've never been anywhere for a service as the car only has 11000km on it (service due at 15000). As far as insurance.. After changing insurance providers because of mod's, I saved $400 per year on my premium....IE: I saved $400 a year because my previous insurance didnt allow mods and I then had to look around for the best quote. Which ever way you go...another 40rwkw is well worthwhile.

that's fair enough mate. I'm new to Canberra and had been sold on the APS product previously. I went to DTS and ordered it (APS) straight up without much chit chat so I would have missed him knocking other products. I found the lady on the desk to be most imformative.

Yeah, I dont think DTS are quite up on the edit yet. I'd be happy enough to get my phase 3 done there though. A work mate has a turbo RX7 and has had dealings with Jakes.

I had an APS kit installed at Dynamic Tunning Service in Fyshwick. No complaints at all. I got the phase 1 and then the phanse 2 later. Good service both times.

I used caltex 98 for the first time last week. $1.22 !!! Fantastic ! Smoother all the way through the rev range. Even seemed to have more power - The wheels never spin at the end of second gear with normal premo but they started to spin at 4500rpm with the 98. Oh, and dont even bother with 1st. I only used half throttle in first and still couldn't get traction. Hmm..The car's probably faster off the mark with s**t fuel.

Fog lights - I have them on cause everyone else does...LOL.. Stickers - I have a razorback sticker cause I have a Ute. I was thinking about a "Shoot Ferels" sticker but I think that may be a political statement about how I like to shoot ferels. I do have a tuning sticker and a "B" stomp pad sticker (B for Burton snowboards) though.

I'm a Expensive Daewoo man at heart. A V8 Expensive Daewoo man at that. The "young people" were talking up the T and work had a "Ford partnership program" going. I like fast cars and have never had a turbo or a Ford. I'm a swinging voter, the discount and the love of trying new things made me do it. Ps: I will never sell my EH though ! Age makes a difference. I'm over 30 and with AAMI. My Ute is insured with options (hard cover, tow bar) and mods (chip, exhaust etc) for $870. Private use, $500 excess, no driver under 30.

I had an insrance company that didnt pay out the remainder of my pemium when I sold the car. $400 worth..they were in Melbourne..Gee, does VIC want to rip off NSW as much as QLD? I am glad about AAMI..I never thought a main stream insurance company could be so cool !!!

NighEve. You may want to replace the factory hose clamps. That seems to be the genral theme here. just a thought.

When I got my aps phase II they charged me for re-gapping the plugs to .85mm. They said the car was breaking down at high rpm. Now - When I change gear I hear a "flutter" sound and "if" I hit the rev limiter I hear a bap, bap, bounce (backfire) sound and I see smoke in the rear view mirror. I try not to hit the rev limiter but it comes up too quick for my reaction time. I will learn to catch it soon because I fear my cat may die OH! The shop replaced my factory hose clamp to the turbo because it poped off.

The vents have to point forward. I think it looks pUs. Two outside vents would be cool. Don't put one in the middle, that's sooo WRX. Wait ! What about one vent pointing forward on one side ! COOL...
