  1. You could try using K&H General Purpose thinner if the paint hasn't been on for too long. Generally, your car paint/clearcoat would be totally hardened, so the thinner won't take it off, while the other paint is still not totally dry - even when it feels dry. I've used this to remove some attempted touchups that weren't good enough. See http://www.paintscratch.com/automotive-paint-tips.htm. "Did you know you can completely remove any new paint with automotive lacquer thinner and start over without damaging the original finish?" Should be the same principle. HTH ws

    307.1 Rwkw

I thought the Nizpro 1+ had the cooler ? ws
  3. So who has one with a custom tune? Not me. Is the smaller size turbo a limiting factor Yes. General consensus for FG (excluding F6) is you are pushing it at 320rwkw Is 300 rwkw achievable in an auto G6ET ? Absolutely. Has anyone cracked the code for the 6 speed auto yet? AFAIK, no-one has an 'edit' available for the ZF 6 speed And whilst speaking of the auto.... what is the limit of its torque handling. A potentially thorny subject...Put it this way, there are quite a few guys that have cars > 350rwkw and whatever Nm go with that. Some have stock ZFs and the only thing they do is show them some TLC; regular trans fluid changes etc. I found the limit in my 4sp auto... the hard way. Oh good! A guinea pig ;-) Seriously, for someone with your number of posts, I reckon you know what's what. Unless you been posting without reading ;-) ws
  4. I call shenanigans. ws
  5. Once you've generated the random numbers once, copy and then Paste Special. There should be a checkbox or something for "Values". This then converts the formula to a value - like something you typed in. Then save it, and when you open/recalculate, the values won't change anymore. hth qs
  6. I think those other guys have the cross-drilled and slotted.... ws
  7. Is that you in the driver's seat in the 1st pic? ws
  8. You might want to take it easy on the power side if you've got a 5 speed manual. From what I've read, they're not too reliable above 260rwkw. Depending on how you drive, of course. ws
  9. Pussies. BallPark burger is way to go. But I will take the chick too ;-) ws
  10. Yeah, I believe so. I think the BF brakes came from the Territory. Some places used to offer a brake upgrade that took the brakes off the Terri and put them on the xr6t. Back on topic, looks like you're back to either just rotors & pads or up to the Brembos or other upgraded calipers. If you don't want to spend a fair bit of coin, slotted rotors and pads, as already suggested is the go. ws
  11. I don't see a problem, that looks like a typhoon to me. Maybe it's an R-spec? *ducks* ws
  12. The ZF/ECU combo will shift at different rpms, depending on a variety of factors. Check out the owner's manual, it has some interesting info on this. Also check out this link for the section about Transient RPM limit. See if you can get it to go to 6250 ;-) ws
  13. I just can't understand this 'initiative' at all. Besides the fact that the filtering is technically infeasible and unreliable, and the other good points above, the government's own report stated that internet speed would be decreased by up to 75%. I've seen figures that have mentioned in the high 80s elsewhere. And then they have a separate broadband initiative that is meant to increase speeds elsewhere. If this gets passed, then you will be extremely lucky to get back to where you are today. "The state must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people," Hitler wrote in Mein Kampf. "As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation." ws
  14. Hey I've noticed that occasionally - not all the time, my door chimes and warning light come on even after I've closed the door. There's been no after market installs of anything, eg stereo, and all the doors and boot are closed. Seems to happen after the car has been sitting a coupla days without driving it. Jump in the drivers side, close the door, fire it up, warning light comes on, hear the pretty chimes and the door warning light stays on. I check and slam all the doors and boot, but the door light doesn't go off until....well, dunno exactly when. Today it happened again, but it's OK now. In my bad old days, I would have looked at the button that left the interior lights on, pressed it a coupla times and sprayed that farker with WD-40. But I didn't notice anything similar? I'm probably looking at the wrong place... Any advice on what to do/look for? TIA ws
  15. Got less than 1/4 tank of gas ? ws
  16. Hahahhaaa! That guy reminds me of Duke Nukem....if you staked him out in the sun for a couple of months. And to use a Duke line: "You're an inspiration for birth control" ws PS: The chick is disturbingly manly.... maybe she tucked it between her legs...
  17. Thank you, Dagabond! ws PS: For anyone interested, using Adblock plus, block http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/jscripts...box/shoutbox.js
  18. How do I turn this off ? It's very annoying. Also clicking on My Prefs for just moves you to a new page, with Loading Please Wait forever.... ws
  19. with an interior like that, it must be a real pleasure to get out of the car
  20. Yeah, if not modded, turbo will be the limiting factor. I'll say 307rwkw. ws
  21. Bad luck, mate. I had a run with potholes and Sydney's crap roads on 18s. Just nothing to be done to avoid them. Had a flat bottom to one of the rims as well, though apparently it didn't need anything done to it. Anyways, it's better to be safe, and the 18s do suit the falc's handling wise. And to put a positive spin on it, it means you should only have to shell out for 2 new tyres at a time instead of 4 all at one go. (That made me feel a little better when I screwed up mine!) Hope you end up wearing out this set instead of tearing them out ws
  22. Ahahahaha Couple of the quotes from another site: - That's A-PAW-LING!!! - They were after the hamsters that power the car ws
  23. Better brakes to stop it? Some suspension upgrades to help it go around corners?
  24. Based on your logic, you paid $20K for something because it was standard on one car and an option on the other. Anyways, that post you quoted had nothing to do with XR6T vs Phoon. It was about the thuper thpecial R-Spec vs poverty pack phoon. ws
