  1. Wow hopefully I got the upgraded internals and still got the good brakes too. Will call Ford shortly to confirm everything. Also thanks Wenier I've tested holding down the traction control button while in drive and the light does come on the dash so it appears to be working fine. I've started to look at mods and I think I'll just do the injectors and a custom tune. I live in Sydney and have read good things about cv performance on these forums so might give them a call. Is it possible to get a discount if you don't want to keep the tuner handset and only want the one tune for it? They list $1500 for the injectors and 3 custom tunes - don't really want to spend that much. I want to get as much power as possible out of the car without having to change the exhuast as I'm an old family man now and don't want the attention or to affect my kids in the back with a loud exhaust. Would it be worth doing the inter cooler also or if you are keeping the standard exhaust injectors and a custom tune just about maxes it out?
  2. OK sounds like I have a MK1 but hopefully still got the upgraded internals of the MK2 for the bottom end. All I really cared about was the upgraded internals so I'm happy I have a new question and figured I'd just keep it in here... It's regarding traction control. When I first turn on the accessories I can see a light of the car getting sideways or losing traction which I'm guessing is the traction control light? I see the same icon on a button on the dash which I'm guessing turns the traction control on and off. However when I press the button nothing happens? I was expecting the traction control light to pop up on the dash to show I have turned it on but it doesn't seem to be working? Is my traction control broken or disabled? I've been driving the car very tamely (I do this with all my new cars) and spun the wheels a bit taking off in the wet once... does that mean my traction control is turned off or would it still spin the wheels in the wet a bit if it was turned on? Total noob question I know but would love to hear what the go is?
  3. I've been looking at all the carsales adds of cars listed as BF MK2's made in 2006 and 90% of them don't have the MK2 badge on the back. It seems that Ford only started putting the MK2 badge on the back towards the end of 2006 and beginning of 2007. Mine doesn't have the MK2 badge on the back. Is there anyone who knows a definitive way to ID if it's a MK2?
  4. Hey Fellas, I just bought my first Ford - it's a 6 speed auto 06 black XR6T sedan. I bought it because I recently had knee surgery on my left knee and have been having trouble driving a manual and heard nothing but great things about the ZF 6 speed auto box in the BF's and always wanted a XR6T due to to how hard they go standard and how well the respond to mods (probally grown out of the modding phase now but still good to know if I ever have the need for more grunt from her). I also have 2 kids and we are considering a 3rd so needed the upgrade. I'm trying to figure out if it's a MK2 or not? The plate says it was built 06/06 and I think this was when the first BF MK2's came out but I'm not certain? Was hoping that someone here could confirm for me? It has the ZF 6 Speed Auto transmission but I think all BF's came with this regardless (unless 6 speed manual). Is there any way I can confirm if it's a MK2 or not? I must say I love the way the car goes and I was expecting it to be difficult to drive due to the size but I'm pretty much already used to it after about an hours driving. There's only 2 things I don't really like about the car and that is the roof still looks like a taxi and the doors shut so terribly, they are like your grandmas fridge door. I've gone from a 05 Subaru WRX wagon to this and even though I miss my pillarless doors that thud nicely I'm not dissapointed in my purchase (still have the WRX gave it to me wife and traded her 02 WRX Wagon in for the XR6T). Anyways I'm glad to join the club and l looking forward to reading up on what mods I could potentially make in the future.
