  1. I'll post a link to the ad when I put it up. Low km's - 98k
  2. I didn't buy a second hand TPS. It's the accelerator pedal assembly (PPS). Depending on your car the new price from Ford varies from just over $400 to nearly $500 ..THAT is rich Anyway , the car is in perfect running order, unfortunately now I have to sell it.
  3. A TPS ? No , there's one on Ebay for $120 new http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/THROTTLE-POSITION-SENSOR-FORD-6cy-V8-BA-BF-XR8-XR6-TURBO-FPV-TERRITORY-GENUINE?item=261159695246&cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D1%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D5623282647542789148 Ford wanted nearly $800 for a throttle body & about $430 for the PPS. I went to Mr.Ford in Sydney - they have LOTS of them.
  4. You are correct! I picked one up from the wreckers for $150. My mechanic fitted it this morning . It's fixed. No more error codes. Thanks for all your help guys.
  5. Hopefully I won't have to change everything . But I'm going to start with the pedal switch. I can get one from the wreckers for $150. Utter pain in arse to replace though.
  6. Wow , Ford want over 400 bucks for the pedal box. :(
  7. And you know for sure that's the problem with your car? It's definitely the easiest to fix . You can pick them up for $100 on ebay new
  8. Yeah Ralph he cleared the codes.
  9. Not sure exactly what the code was . The mechanic used a Snap-On Solus Pro so it gave us the 2 actual code definitions. It said Throttle body & Pedal postion switch (or similar wording). Paulie, I've attached a pic of the TPS. http://imgur.com/m2ejLKh I should mention that only about 500km has passed since a full service & replacement of the inlet manifold gasket which was leaking and causing about 16 error codes.
  10. Hi folks, I joined this forum because it looks like the right place to get some informed opinions. I've got a BA XR6T 5sp that is stock except the the previous owner has lowered it a bit & some aftermarket rims. My engine management light is constantly coming on under acceleration . I took it to my local mechanic (whom I trust) he put his scanner on it & it points to an error with either the throttle body or the pedal position switch. He tells me that it could be either part is faulty or even both so the plan was to replace the cheaper part first. As replacements for these parts are quite expensive I thought I'd ask you guys what your thoughts are. He's reset the error codes with his scanner but they return after a short drive. The car starts ,idles & runs normally . There are no flat spots during acceleration & I can't notice any performance loss at all. Can you guys give me some advice on how to proceed ?
