Hi folks, I joined this forum because it looks like the right place to get some informed opinions. I've got a BA XR6T 5sp that is stock except the the previous owner has lowered it a bit & some aftermarket rims. My engine management light is constantly coming on under acceleration . I took it to my local mechanic (whom I trust) he put his scanner on it & it points to an error with either the throttle body or the pedal position switch. He tells me that it could be either part is faulty or even both so the plan was to replace the cheaper part first. As replacements for these parts are quite expensive I thought I'd ask you guys what your thoughts are. He's reset the error codes with his scanner but they return after a short drive. The car starts ,idles & runs normally . There are no flat spots during acceleration & I can't notice any performance loss at all. Can you guys give me some advice on how to proceed ?
