  1. I have an ALS RACE GLIDES th400 in my falcon. His autos and before and after sale customer service are second to none. He's a top bloke and a man of his word which is rare these days.
  2. This is the inside of my HDi XO1 it cost me $300.
  3. I noticed it's better at slightly lower or higher rpm. I will be getting another tune done soon so will get them to play with the idle speed a bit and try and find a happy medium. It doesn't really worry me I have superpro performance option diff bushes, atmo external gate and a th400 so it's not exactly the smoothest, quietest ride. It may be possible to try and match the vibration frequency of female personal massage devices that could be worth doing a bit of r&d into.
  4. Hi, Just a heads up incase anyones considering these mounts. I have fitted a set of these engine mounts recently and the increase in engine vibration felt in the car is something else. Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking the product they are a good strong mount with a bush that can be replaced rather cheaply and easily. I expected an increase in NVH It doesn't concern me but some people might be getting more than they bargained for. After fitting them Its no wonder these engines seam to disassemble themselves as you drive along. Also do yourself a favour and fit them to the brackets that sit on the crossmember and have a look at them. You have to cut the stud that the red arrow is pointing towards shorter otherwise they stop the bolts that fix these brackets to the cross member from lining up.
  5. I'll have to dig out my old photo albums and scan 1 or 2 if I get a chance it was back in the days before the digital revolution. It looked like a piece of crap but it did good burnouts & it was something different. It cost me about $7000 to convert my XR6 but I did all the labour. drive in drive out 9/10K seems to be the going rate. My car is now using 18L per 100K up from about 14L but wasn't expecting any miracles there.
  6. Sorry should've been more clear. That's a picture of the box I recently had built for my XR6T and like you say bellhousing + machining + custom converter and it ads up quickly. Years ago I had an R31 skyline with a 355 stroker in it and it just had a dellows adapter plate like the one below between the block and bell housing and a spacer for the converter that was it I didn't like the look of it but I never had any issues with it. Not quite as easy or cheap with the XR6 though unfortunately.
  7. I have a torque power bell housing in my car the th400 has to be machined to accept it and a custom converter used. Not quite as easy as the the adapter plate and spacer between the converter and flex plate I had on a 308 to go from trimatic to th400.
  8. All up everything to do the conversion cost me about $7000. I fitted everything myself so that doesn't include labour.I bought the TH400 with a torque power bell housing & a TCE converter from ALS RACE GLIDES. The shifter, cooler, temp gauge, lines & fittings, mount and driveshaft I got here or there. It's still an unopened BA I so I only had it tuned to 340rwkw even then I run a few psi less just to stay on the safe side. Everything on the car is overkill at this stage the auto especially the bottom end is now last on the list. There are people running BTR's with more power than mine will ever make how long they last I don't know. They're less refined but a well built C4/C10, TH400 or Power glide will handle a fair bit of power if u can live with them.
  9. Dave talks the talk but his boxes are crap he lied to and stuffed around a friend of mine around to no end. He has blown 3 rvo autos with about 330rwkw one after the other he has the 4th in the car now but he went back to a standard converter and tends to not drive it to hard now. After seeing everything he went through and after speaking to alot of other reputable trans places and tuners I put a th400 in mine as I was left with no confidence in the btr.
