  1. Are you the original owner? Have you had the car from new? Where abouts you located? tom <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yeh! Yeh! Sydney
  2. I just found out that they didnt send out the turbo after the engine rebuild. mob said to. The "service technician" decided against it. I had to call the service manager and he agreed with me/them and sent out the turbo! What happens to all those poor smoes who dont follow up and ask for numbers and make enquires themselves???? If I didnt the turbo would have been put back in as is with a high chance of having metal in it and going through tthis whole thing again? Ford never ceases to amaze me!
  3. I was told about $16 grand for a new one by the service guy at ford, he obviously doesnt know what he is talking about! I was amazed, because I sourced an engine fully loaded that will handle up to 40 psi boost for around $4500.
  4. Havent picked up the car yet, ford has still got it for another week and I'm not the most techinical person either! Still waiting to get a complete report from the mob the engine was sent to, but they had seen this sort of thing before! What's with the STU CRAP!!!
  5. Check out my posting - Engine gave out at under 50k My stocker, bend a rod and the top end let go, spitting metal through the engine and turbo. Costing me at least 3 weeks without a car!
  6. I have a series 1, xr6t with just under 50K on the clock and is a regular family car (no mods). Ford have had my car for over 2 weeks and it looks as if I wont get it back for another week! Apparently they dont have enough staff to put it back together (pathetic) so I just have to wait! Plus it has been an up hill battle to get anything out of Ford, as they dont return calls or even call to update you. I think all but one call was made by me! Great customer service, hey? Now, what happened was that the Top End let go and spat metal through the engine and turbo, plus it also bend a rod. My car is just outside of warranty, but Ford still covered it, lucky as they wanted $16K for a new engine. I suppose that's what you should get for getting it serviced through ford and paying a fortune for the priveledge! Anyway, the main concern is that all my rods were over size from the start, so you can see the problem! The people who rebuilt the engine for Ford have told me that the rods Ford put in should have been more heavy duty anyway. Has anyone else had these problems?
