  1. Whoever it was! What you have is nothing a good tuner can’t fix with decent tune. I recall over two years my Old BA Tornado had the Hunting rpm and HIGH idle rpm, Dam dangerous when you try and slow down!!!! Coughing whilst cold is probably plug gaps but see a Tuner who is onto it and enjoy the tune as it should be sweet as and smooth as.
  2. Hi Dick, You need to get someone to do a proper tune as those symptoms were around 2 years ago and 99% of tuners have passed that stage.
  3. I agree its hardly a triumphant win! Looking at the ET! However to come from behind after being beaten off the line to overtake the R8 is!! When you consider the F6 terminal speed of 180.4Km/h compared to the R8 with only 176.2 Km/h Then as can be seen from the Video a car and a ½ length win when it lost near ½ a car length at the start makes for a 2 car length win and 4.2km/h I'd say pretty impressive & a triumphant win!!!!
  4. Hi Ross, Julie still had the 6GE last night as Titans decided her Diff bushes needed replacing so I took it to a meeting in CanningVale last night. Interesting drive and it does drive very very nice. No body roll left to right but heaps from front to rear..amazing really. When you plant your foot the front lift and the back sinks as you can imagine but this is huge!!! I would like to see it from the outside as it’s very noticeable from the driving position. On good Hotmix it won’t spin at all just lifts the front and goes and goes and goes. I might have trouble handing this back. When does yours arrive?
  5. Had a drive yesterday when the Missus bought home a G6E Loan car whilst her F6 was in for a 30k service. She likes it and her first comment was you have much more vision out the front which I must agree after driving it. It handles superbly with NO body roll and steers much better than the BF. The interior is very nice and well set out and very comfortable. Not sure about the cream leather seats though? It didn’t have adjustable pedals but I believe it’s an option and a must have after having it on the last two Fords. Sits nice on the 19” optioned wheels but I think the front looks a bit tinny!! Not sure about the rear end either??? Power wise it seemed slow but smooth (maybe due to my F6 Tornado having 370rwks ahahhahah) Would I buy one? Well it will be hard to part with Build 0001 BF Typhoon but the G6E is impressive so I will need to think hard before I commit. I think these will be a BIG seller for Ford as it has Power, Handles, and it’s a Class vehicle…well done Ford.
  6. Yes Ninka I have heard a Few Atomic Diesel 4ltr Turbos (ADT) I open the work Gate every morning at 5am and it’s very quiet at that time and I have ZERO noise even when standing in front of the bonnet. Unfortunately the old rule of thumb that you allow so many though per Inch of diameter bore was ok in the eighties but its 2008 now and with plateau honing, Piston material and a dummy head plate that old rule of thumb is planets away from what you can close it down to nowadays.
  7. Try putting some decent oil in it and dump the factory sh!t that's in it and you might be surprised!
  8. I use Mahle Pistons and quiet as with NO piston noise but I run minimal clearance piston to bore. Way way way less than Atomic would recommend when they sell the pistons. Really its upto your engine assembler and the quality of the machine shop and if they use a dummy head plate when they Plateau hone the bores. If they don’t use a dummy head plate they will need to give it more clearance to accommodate cylinder distortion when the head is bolted on. Do it tight without a dummy head plate and it will be very quiet when it seizes Do it lose with or without a dummy head plate and it will knock its head off regardless of what pistons you use. Talk to your engine rebuilder and see how many thousands of an inch clearance he recommends and that will tell you how good he is.
  9. that's not a bad 60ft for street tires and that is good pedaling to get a low 12 with that setup...well done.
  10. I'm guessing 330rwkws as that's what Ben and I used to run in our old manuals and we were consistantly running @ 119kmh
  11. Sounds good Buf!! Please dont tell me you got Ford to do it and they put Genuine ZF oil back in it!!
  12. Good luck Buf. Seen quite a few go another run after a Filter and oil change so you might be in luck. Just for the record the Clutches are as follows: Park = D Reverse = B & D Neutral = D (same as Park) 1st = A & D 2nd = A & C 3rd = A & B 4th = A & E 5th = B & E 6th = E & C The most common clutches to wear out are B & E.

    F6 Vs Xr6t

I think Harry has>>>> He is confused as to what what!!
  14. Buf it maybe too late and oil with new filter might be past it. Can you do me a test? Different packs are used in different gears so can you test it and tell me if the problem in when going in and out of 3rd AND does a similar thing in 6th? Before you root it anymore CHANGE the OIL and Filter for Farkkkkkkkkk sake. I posted on here somewhere which packs are used in which gears and if a Pack is gone it will show in more than one gear. The Transmission has a sensor on the input hub and another speed sensor on the output hub and as such knows if a clutch pack is slipping simply by calculating the in and out speeds and matching that to the know gear and as such protects itself from destruction by going to limp mode if this speed is outside the desired target! Lack of oil due to Blocked filter will accelerate the wear and cause your problem. SO CHANGE the bloody filter and oil before its too Late AGAIN!!!
  15. If you lie down with dogs, you'll get up with fleas, and that's the fruits of travelling with a fool.
  16. You also need to consider the diff ratio which is different on the auto to manual. Most dyno shops dyno the zf in 3rd as 4th is too fast and are running 230kmh+ at full noise So 4th in manual 6 speed and 3rd in auto 6 speed My Manual 6 speed used to run over the line in 4th over the ¼ mile and my auto would hold 3rd if I held it over the ¼ . STD power that is not worked. Making the final ratio and speed very similar in those two gears between 6 speed autos and manual. hope that helps?
  17. $3~$4k is an absolute rip off. I just bought the latest 9500ci which has front, rear, jammers, radar, GPS, stealth etc just released in the USA 2 weeks ago for less than $2k it smashes the RX75. Mind you it has that many wires it took a day to fit it correctly and it needs to be fitted spot on if you want it to do the job. There is guy here in WA who has laser guns and radar guns etc to test these units when fitted and he is heaps cheaper that the dude in qld. His name is Jeremy and the site is here mention a maniac in an F6 Tornado sent you
  18. ZF offered the 8 speeder to Ford but ford declined and their contract expires 2009 when Ford is believed to be changing to a transmission built in the states. A shame really as the ZF has proved to be a bloody good box and cheap to build.. Ford do some strange things and I did hear the yank box was a 5 speed but I hope that is not the case as that would be a crying shame and even more of a backward move.
  19. So does that make you a K1W1 now?
  20. 320~330 rwkw @ 119mph time after time. Both my 6 Speed Manual and the same with the 6 speed Zf.
  21. Worse for us guys in Ute’s with 80ltr tanks… Hurts to fill up now with the way prices are traveling up and up.
  22. That's about right Senna. I had a BA Tornado build number 0036 and when I bought the BF Tornado I managed Build Number 0001 and Typhoon Build Number 0001 Then Bf 2 came out and the numbers start all over again. Unfortunately as there was so many built the build numbers are probably not as valuable as what they would have been if they kept the numbers down. Just make sure you don't buy a P000* as that is a Pre release or Press car and usually Pre production vehicle.. Test Pig you could call it
  23. Thank god someone has some common sense. Imagine all the woman and men who wouldn’t even know there was a turbo under the bonnet. If it was an issue then Ford would have a huge warranty problem. The only Turbo's I've seen fail on the T4 have been as Ninka mentioned>>> lack of oil due to the screen blocking and secondly from debris from a failed piston. NON from idling down. So where should you fit the timer? In the box it came in
  24. Bloody Girls Car!!!! You’re getting Soft young Fella. Driving a Fairmont during the week and a Rice burner on the weekends…
  25. If you’re aware there is an Edit for the ZF then maybe you should be telling us as no one here is aware of one apart from the few changes that can be made using the CAPA Edit which only edits the Ford side that talks to the Trans. Not the actual ZF Trans itself.
