  1. I still drive my 5.6 ltr ute and love it :o But sooner or later one must come out from the CAVE and turn the lights on as it is almost 2005, and as much as the LS2 and my old 5.6 are magical engines the days of the old pushrod are nearing an end :o Not to many ss or hsv's blowin wind up the ass of too many 5.6ltr even as old as they are
  2. @Geesman you flogged this to death on the FF site and lost the plot so now your over hear looking for support?????????????? A phase II might well do that and no one is saying its not!! You can Mod a T and try and make it into something its not and along the way blow not only the clutch and a few other things such as your warranty and in the end your bank balance. I can even Buy a Festiva and drop a T moter done up as a phaseIII but in the end of the day I still own a festiva. I'll take the typhoon and its warranty and styling and FPV name and enjoy my weekends while you spend yours changing parts and parting with more money. At the end of the day pal if you cant afford the origian outlay and for that matter dont like the typhoon TUFF tit*ies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Btw Ive read all your posts on ff about the costs and somehow to me they still dont add up and even if they did at the end of the day you still have a T with no warranty and I have a typhoon with full warranty. Enjoy
  3. What sort of comment is that?????????? What you can't spend some money on the typhoon ? The typhoon allready comes STANDARD with: Updated Con rods Oil Cooler Dual air intakes Heavier Valve spings Twin plate Clutch Plus all the FPV stuff And warranty !!!! :o Then if you do want to spend some money on it at least it will handle the extra Grunt. Spend it on your T Matty_2004 and while your smoking the clutch out of and then trying to claim warranty I and 99% of members here will be laughing our ass off. As for Wank ?????? I can see who has a hold of it!!!!!!!!!!! :o
  4. I saw that and thought it odd. I was thinking maybe the vehicle tested was not the final release vehicle? has anyone actualy even taken delivery of one as yet? there was a post that the first ones are due for shipment next week???
  5. We will have to waite to get some REAL data I think. With the F6 developing more Torque at 1750 RPM than the GT can produce at 5000RPM even a dumb ass HSV owner would be very cautious and nervous about the posted results and wishing they were acurate. Weight is allways a part of the calculation and the best way to help minimise its effect is with more torque which is what we have here. You will all be smiling when they start to show some Actual test results. Consider the performace of the XR6T and then add: 6 Speed 3.73 Diff 100nm Torque ( that is HUGE) 30 kw (Kept below GT kws to keep them happy) MMmm moter mag show its only as quick as an XR6T I DONT THINK SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. They will drop when people learn how to use the torque not the kw
  7. Well you’re all right but unfortunately it’s all not that simple. The speed of the turbine is controlled by several factors and the biggest misconception is that the turbine spins fastest at max engine rpm which is incorrect. So sitting at the lights revving the engine will increase the turbine speed but nothing compared to when the engine is under load at what point the fuel delivery is at its greatest and in turn the turbine speed will increase. Not much fuel required at hi rpm no load so reduced speed. This is something that has been used for many years in diesel engines and little with petrol but the same principles apply and basically the engine control module is no more than a fuel governor so some of the petrol philosophy has gone out the window. For example the turbo speed could be at its greatest at @ 2000 RPM not at 6000RPM depending on load and fuel delivery % as most would think. As the Load rpm increases the fuel delivery% will decrease to maintain the flat torque curve if that makes any sense hahhahahahah The advantage the auto has is you can have full load on the engine at Converter stall without the car moving hence allowing max turbo efficiency before leaving the line. Bit hard with a manual without burning out the clutch.
