  1. Happy Birthday F6_Tornado!

  2. Just change the oil to Castrol TransmaxZ and it will fix it. so simple really.
  3. Dump the Genuine oil and Change the filter>>>>> Then fill it with Castrol TransmaxZ and it will be a different beast!!!
  4. Genuine is OK for stock HP but don't even think about it if you have anything above STD or you do Track work.. The genuine Oil will cook in no time.
  5. To be fair to all involved the vehicle may have had a terminal problem before being tuned…. From what I read all he paid for was a tune. Maybe the fuel filter was 75% blocked? Maybe the fuel pump can’t cope? Maybe it now has a few air leaks due to boost being a bit above what it was. Maybe it already had a crack in a piston land or body and its starting to now show….. so many possibilities so to be circling like Vultures is a bit harsh I think and I must agree with Tab. %$@&* knows why LOL I guess for $400 they are not about to service and go over the whole engine for you. (probably didnt even open the Bonnet) I can’t recall how many times I’ve said to a couple of tuners here in Perth “DO A COMPRESSION TEST BEFORE U TUNE” … I know one of my utes started to bread a bit… I hadn’t belted it in months so why? Dropped the slugs out only to find one cracked. God only knows when that occurred and it may have been slowly failing over 12 months. What if I had of slipped into a tuner and not noticed the breathing? Go out and belt it and BOOOOOOM!! Must have been the tuners fault I guess?????? In a way I was lucky as I had an external breather hence me noticing it. I’m not saying C&V don’t have some responsibility but for $400 doesn’t get you much now and I guess it’s the owner’s responsibility to present the car in good working and service condition. A million things could be wrong so at least be open minded as tab suggested.
  6. Ben needs more than a Hug SPIKO... He has turned a bit girlie since he bought the Gay Ricer.
  7. Well I guess this is the result of many incorrect Tunes and I hear about it more and more every day.. Seems many tuners have a fair idea but but there is only a handful who are really good at tuning the ZF. Quite a few guz on here have had HUGE problems and its taken a lot of my time to convince them its in the tune.. Eventually they get it tuned right and are amazed at the difference. Don't blame the Trans for Bad tuning.
  8. A bit unsure why you would do that but seeing you are and your trans is supposedly Screwed I will take it off your hands for you at a reasonable price. It would be worth me paying the freight to WA for me to just see whats wrong with it and ascertain how smart Ford are with their diagnosis.
  9. If It seized the pump it wont go anywhere let alone slip. Never seen one yet with the pump seized. Seen plenty cooked and plenty starved for oil due to blocked filter and they slip like crazy. Given to the right people I cant see it costing you much at all. Ford don't rebuild them so they will just say its screwed and put in a new one at your expense. If you were in WA I'd have a look at it for you but Sunny QLD is a long way from WA... Good luck.
  10. Actually this one blows very little smoke.. Lots of boost>>>> 70PSI some are crazy and smoke that bad there wont be a Mozzie for a 100 miles.
  11. Not even a Carton of beer from any of them :bangcomputer: Late next week looks like the go as I have so much to do here I need to be back ASAP. Namely one Kenworth Race Truck with some serious HP 10ltr CAT Diesel with some 1600~1800HP that needs to win the last round @ Barbagello to take out the title.
  12. Yes that's Correct>>> Monsta Torque & Xtreme Ford Tuning
  13. Last name is Mellor Adam ZF cannot technically do work on high performance vehicles as their box's are designed for what the specify and anything outside of that they wipe their hands of and as such they handball this work for obvious reasons. Hence them giving Rick my contact info.
  14. That will bring it inline with the Fg F6 which has 7 but you need more!!!!! OK for the 350FWkw's but not enough for RWKS.
  15. May not be your problem BUT the ZF is very smart and it monitors all 4 wheels and from the data collected will manipulate all gear changes and as such can hold a gear when you think it shouldn’t. Before you blame the transmission make sure all other inputs are correct including the rolling circumference of all 4 wheels. For example with crap tires on and excessive wheel spin (HP Required) will stop certain upshifts at WOT!! Typically 3rd and above….A decent set of tires that grip will eliminate the gear hold and allow it to upshift. The transmission is simply playing safe as the speed of the front tire is less than the rear tires so it assumes your driving in slippery conditions so its reluctant at WOT to hand you another gear.
  16. Not sure Julia Buzzard will make it till March As much as Costello wasn't liked by Joe Public he was the best man for the job in tough times IMO
  17. I'm sure there is quite a few Oils that would meet the specifications and more just a matter of trying them and finding out what works best I guess? I tried a few and am happy now with what I use and don't need to test anymore for now at least. Although I believe Castrol have a new oil out that might be even better so maybe I might try that on my own Trans one day soon.??
  18. Penrite have since said DONT use their oil on ZF 6 speed and the ZF factory oil is average and only just makes the grade on a STD box. Everyone I know now uses Castrol TransmaxZ and swear by it. Use whatever you feel comfortable with as everyone has their own Ideas just like I have mine. Ive seen probably more than 50 ~75 of these box's stripped now and you can pick which oil was used in them just by looking at the wear!!!
  19. When changing to the steel Pan you will need to buy: 1 Steel Pan 1 Oil Filter 1 Gasket 21 Bolts 8 ltr Castrol TransmaxZ Or just buy the Plastic Pan with integrated filter 1 Plastic Pan (Comes with filter and gasket) 8 ltr Castrol TransmaxZ oil I think the plastic pans are Cheap and available aftermarket also a plastic pan and 8 ltr of oil would be @ $250.00 I think I saw on her last week that Hiro performance sell parts at a good price??????
  20. I only use genuine ZF parts but there maybe other after market parts out there just I don't know as I've not looked.. The genuine is cheap so no point in my opinion. Different Clutch packs have different thickness Plates and different quantities in relationship to the transmission spec so you need to shuffle these to increase the volume in a given clutch. you may also machine down pistons and change end plates and lock rings depending again on what clutch and whats available. These then need to be set to certain heights, Nothing too high tech really and I'm sure many could do it themself...
  21. The most important part is making sure your Tuner knows how to set the torque tags or it will die regardless of what you do or spend.. If you’re running an old tune talk to your tuner and ask him to update the trans setting in your tune. I’m sure most would do that for a small fee which is well worth it.
  22. I could do that but I’d like to at least see tradesman doing the job and not just anyone as it can turn Pear shape pretty quickly!!! Like the old Saying…” A little bit of Knowledge can be Very Dangerous” However like I have mentioned many times the input shaft has several different heat treatments over the years to improve its ductile strength.. Another words, to be able to handle the stress without Deformation, fatigue or fracture. . Given enough power and sticky tires it will still fracture. E pack which is first used in 4th Gear is too small and takes a lot or torque and as such needs to be increased. Park D Rev B & D Nu D 1st A & D 2nd A & C 3rd A & B 4th A & E 5th B & E 6th E & C B is another that takes a Beating in third and needs to be beefed up. A, D & C wear but not an issue but worth tiding up whilst in there. Keep in mind the clutch capacity is measured in force over area and as such if you increase either the capacity will increase. However the increase in Area will reduce the amount of pressure required to engage that clutch under normal driving and as such the shifts will be much quicker requiring the ZF to re learn.
  23. Actually for the price some of these guys charge I could put some machined parts and new parts in my Bag fly over & stay at an expensive Hotel, fix the ZF and fly home and still make a $1000.00 profit
  24. I was up in Cairns a month back..... Sure if I'm over that way or they are over this way I'm always happy to teach someone.
  25. There you go looks like a few sponsors sell them as well.. For those who asked the two people in WA whom I taught and now rebuild the ZF are EFT and MTE Hopefully they all look after members with a good price.
