  1. Thanks for the info I will call Chris next week and run it by him. Hopefully its just a process of elimination Chris has been great to deal with so I'm sure something will work out
  2. Yeah for sure it was on the to do list anyway . Because I know Chris has made shafts for two other cars that I know of with good results it makes sense to upgrade the standard bushes , because even though they are not split they are very sloppy.
  3. Yeah see the the thing is the faster I go the less I notice it because im not making enough power to load up the driveline once I click fourth gear. Cruising on 200kmh (on race track)car is perfect .
  4. From what I've been told the new tailshaft is more sensitive to angle change that's why I only notice the vibration while accelerating . With the standard tailshaft and bushes my car drives fine .
  5. Haha probably because it's humid and you don't just smell it you can taste it.
  6. Kind of like farting when you have no pants on. Nice and loud

Sounds like you will be having fun this weekend. Let me know when you take it to the track I will come and check it out.
  8. I appreciate the info sixman . The car only has 19,500km on it and they are mostly from freeway driving so I was thinking if I just replace the three diff bushes that would be enough. Do you still think it would be of benefit if I get the control arm bushes installed considering the low km? Another guy on here has the same tailshaft as me and is using the comfort bushes , and he said his car is running perfect with no vibrations . So I think I will go with the comfort bushes instead of the competition ones.
  9. Thanks sixman , the more I think about it the comfort ones might be a better option as my car is not really any louder than standard. Only reason I was going with the competition ones is to limit the amount the diff moves under load
  10. Hey benny Yeah I will let you know . Only thing that worries me is noise transfer with the competition bushes , I'm still running the standard cat back exhaust so if it makes the car louder I will definitely notice it. Luke
  11. Centre bearing is apparently a similar style to the standard one. Bit of an update took my car to Gibson drive shafts to see if Chris could diagnose the vibration issue and the only thing he could come up with is because I'm still running the standard diff bushes (still in good condition) there is too much movement in the diff whilst under load which changes the angle of the diff and causes the vibration. So the car is booked into city suspension to get competition bushes installed on Tuesday.

Looking good mate you can't go wrong with Joe. How's the ride and handling with the tein coilovers?
  13. It amazes me how ethanol has an effect on filters and hoses . Isn't vodka 40% ethanol and 60 percent water only side effect it's given me is a good time
  14. Main thing I love about sports bikes is the only thing you have to do is set the suspension up to your liking and hit the track and go for it . And the only thing you can blame for being slow is your lack of ability. I find them so much more rewarding then driving a car. When I think about the car I think what can I do to make it faster but with the bike I think how can I improve myself to make me a quicker rider.
  15. I think glouva (user name) has run a high 9 with the factory cross over and aftermarket air box so I can't really see it being much of a restriction unless chasing the last few kw
  16. Yeah I can't see much point in upgrading the exhaust or intake until I upgrade the turbo . If I'm going to make noise I want the car to at least back it up in performance. Cool gives me something to aim for.
  17. I think an 11.5 or 11.4 should be achievable with the standard fg turbo, air box and cat back exhaust on e85. Once I get my tailshaft sorted I will go to the track and give it a proper go.
  18. I have the PW muffler delete but with the factory air box its still quiet while driving around at normal road speeds. I'm still running the factory cat back exhaust so the car is still really quiet. I've only had two runs at the track using et streets and leaving the line pretty much off idle ( because paranoid about standard tail shaft) the car has run 11.7 at 122mph with a 2.0 60ft on united e85.
  19. My car is making 340kw with the factory air box only thing changed is a k&n filter and a section cut out of the lower part of the air box.
  20. I'm not sure what style centre bearing was used I will find out Monday. I was talking to Chris (Gibson driveshafts) on the phone and explained what was happening and he said something about spacing out the center bearing to get the right angle . I will find out more next week .
  21. I'm having similar issues, I've just had an upgraded 1000 hp tailshaft fitted . I only get a vibration while under hard acceleration but no vibration once up to speed so I'm guessing it's not a balance issue. Car is booked in next Monday so hopefully the issue will be sorted. I will let you guys know how I go .
  22. I've got similar mods except im still running the factory air box and when tunehouse done my 98 tune (16 psi tapering to 12 psi.) it made 336kw on their hub dyno . When I went to cms I got Joe to run it up on his mainline dyno and it made 298kw ( the motor only had 10,000km on it) so it shows the big power difference between the two types of dynos. I got Joe at cms to do a united E85 tune on my car and it made a big difference on how the car performs and it currently makes 340kw on Joe's dyno . So if e85 is an option id go with that ,I think that's where the small turbo shines
