I know this is no help to you now but it might pay to invest in a tyre plug kit and a small compressor and some pliers . It makes life so much easier when you get a flat tyre on the side of the road. I don't even take the wheel off I just roll the car forward to a point where I can gain access to where its punctured and just plug it , pump the tyre up and drive off. I know plugging the side wall of the tyre is not recommended but if the puncture is only small you can still plug it and it should get you home if you take care and drive slow then get the tyre replaced as soon as you can.
Same mods as what my car has except im a running a pw surge tank. I noticed in your sig that your from the central coast , the united servo near wyong golf course should have e85 in a couple of months.
Nice result mate. Do you have any more info on those bushes you had installed and where to buy them? I had superpro comfort bushes installed and still had the vibration under load with the gibson 1000hp tailshaft . I was suprised how much nvh there is with the superpro comfort bushes its very noticable and annoying. luke
Hey rater would you say there is much to be gained over the quarter with the zf tuned. Main thing I notice on the street with the standard zf tune is that when you get wheelspin you have to shift early so you dont hit the limiter because the standard shift is slow. Luke
Is the vibration while driving at a certain speed or only under acceleration? What was upgraded on your tailshaft? My vibration was only under acceleration and changing the height of the centre bearing did not fix the vibration . My car is a sedan not sure if there is much difference with a ute. My cv joints were changed to uni joints and the only way to eliminate the vibration was to go back to the standard cv joint where it bolts up to the diff. The only reason we can come up with as to why the gibson 1000hp tailshaft did not work in my car is something is slightly out of alignment in my driveline because the same tailshaft has been fitted to a number or cars with success with no vibration.
Yeah for sure better 60ft easy 11s. Are you shifting manually? I usually change at 5000rpm with the standard turbo. How much boost are you running? Any plans on running e85?
Im running a 4inch dump with the standard cat back and my tuner has never mentioned having issues with boost control. Good combo with the standard turbo and the car is still quiet.
Lol yeah not sure if I could manage a ten with my current power maybe low eleven , I could probably improve my 60ft, it was doing consistent 1.7 60ft fairly easy I just wasn't too keen on stalling it up any higher .
I recently had my tailshaft upgraded so I went back to wsid tonight and the car ran 11.2 at 123mph on et streets .
Really happy with the time ,car is still running factory air box and standard cat back exhaust and standard zf tune.
Bit of an update.
Picked my car up from Gibson driveshafts today, Chris had no luck sorting out the vibration so he went back to the standard CV joint and the vibration has gone away. Not really what I was hoping for but should be ok for my current power level.
