  1. Lol I hate working on cars, only thing I like about them is the driving part
  2. Na mate cms will be doing it all. Easier for everyone that way lol its not something I excel at
  3. My original 98 tune (by tunehouse) made 298 on cms dyno . That's with 4 inch dump, cat and standard cat back. And the e85 tune (by Joe cms)makes around 340kw. That's with the fg turbo.
  4. Perfect , that's what I am looking for. I will see what Joe says about keeping the standard cat back and if there is any long term negative affect on the car . At the moment I think the best option for a quieter 4 inch exhaust is the nizpro with the boost activated flap but I will see how the standard cat back goes and what time it runs at the track.
  5. I will be going turbo side intake as well . What's that like under normal driving conditions, is it very noticeable ? I don't like standing out lol but I enjoy painting lines up the road . I guess to make power you have to make noise .
  6. Hopefully the box will be ok for a while (26,000km) . With the standard cat back im hoping for 400kw on e85 but I think around 450kw is where its at as far as fun goes so maybe I will have to upgrade the exhaust in the future. If I can get a high ten with the standard cat back I will be happy
  7. Other than making less power what negative effects can back pressure have on engine and turbo ? Precision 6235 will be going on soon and im really keen on keeping the standard cat back exhaust . Car will be tuned on e85.
  8. Yeah im not really looking forward to when I have to upgrade my cat back exhaust , I love how quiet it is.
  9. Nice power Matt. When accelerating hard on the street do you usually select the gear you want rather than leave it in drive. Im thinking letting the gearbox kick down by itself would cause increased wear and be harder the box than wot on the up shift ???
  10. Yep sounds like you're hitting the rev limiter , the more wheelspin you get in first the earlier you will have to shift.
  11. Id choose a different car. Unless you plan on taking the whole family around the track.
  12. Lol ok , I was thinking maybe a car with more km on it might be able to achieve a better 60ft .
  13. Would a car with more km on it have a looser converter and allow you to stall it up higher??
  14. Just run whatever wheel and tyre combo you want . I just run normal sedan tyres on my bf 1 tonne ute and never had any problems , the heaviest thing I put in the back is a road bike . I don't think the police would bother checking what the load rating is of your tyres as long as you keep your wheel choice sensible
  15. Pretty sure they are advanced headers dump and cat .
  16. Did you end up going to the track last night? Hopefully the rain stays away for Friday night.
  17. One of the forum members is making 426kw with the standard cat back exhaust. Other than it holding the performance back would it effect the life of the turbo or motor ?? I love the sound of the standard cat back and if I can keep it and make around 400kw once I upgrade my turbo I will be happy. But if its bad for the turbo and motor I might have to go with something like what ratter was talking about and run a boost referenced flapper to keep the noise down while cruising.

  20. Be careful if you do a night run up there and are not familiar with the road. Few years ago some guys went up there for a night cruise one of them hit a tree and that was the end of him. Towards the topend of the old road it can still be wet in the corners a few days after it has rained because of water run off and even in the day time its hard to tell the difference between shade and wet patches.
  21. Yeah that's the best time . Before I sold my bike that was reason I would have an rdo so I could cut laps all day. But I still used to always see this truck on there carrying sandstone, not real cool when your cranked over around a blind corner and you come up behind old mate and he is doing 40 kmh. Cops are not really too much of an issue when on the bike of a weekend I used to go quick in the corners and slow on the straights and if you do pass one and they are going the other way then they really have no chance in catching up with you anyway.
  22. Make sure you do the whole road from start to finish both ways and don't detour back on to the freeway. Only down side to driving an fg on that road is all the bikes think you're an unmarked hyw patrol car and once you come up behind one they stick to the 60kmh limit. And for some reason all the mums and dads think its a good road to teach their kids how to drive.
