  1. Whether you can obtain a novated lease will depend on your business structure, ill explain: The word novated actually refers to the type of agreement that you sign with your employer being a "novation agreement" which is simply an agreement which your employer signs to agree to pay for your lease payments (and hence create a car fringe benefit to salary sacrifice). Otherwise a novated lease is simply the same as a ordinary lease only difference is the novation agreement. Novated leases are generally only used by employees of others peoples businesses such as me I am an accountant working for an accounting firm which I don't own. So to obtain the benefits of salary packaging I a novate lease a ute. Therefore if you have no employer than you can't get sign a novation agreement. However, if you operate your business through a trust or company then they can be your "employer" (as these are seperate legal entities for taxation purposes), therefore can't do if use partnership or sole trader structure. You could otherwise buy via a car loan or hire purchase or chattel mortgage or lease the vehicle in the business name (regardless of the entity)but... if you can novate lease it (if you structure allows) it gives you the full flexibility so you can purchase it in your own name at the end, sell it, make a profit from sale (often done) and profit will not be assessed for tax where it would if the vehicle was owned in the business name. Otherwise your business could purchase it at the end and depreciate the vehicle for further deductions (ie depreciation). You need to remember that when the novate lease agreement ends by way of ceasation of lease or cancellation of agreement, the ability to package (and hence effectively claim deductions) also ends. I've helped out a few people on novated leases including on utes. There are a few things regarding private use on utes to watch for when, see this thread for more info: http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=17497 And by the way, the full lease payment will be deductable if salary packaged or in a business name. Hopes this helps, Ford Grunt (Ben)
  2. Bit late in coming (have to admit don't spend much time on this sub-forum) but nice choices, silver with hardcover looks sweet. Nice plate too. Glad it worked out for you in the end buddy. Cheers, Ford Grunt (Ben)
  3. Does any know if they are making aftermarket ones to suit BA mark2 ie. reverse lense in tail light? Haven't came across any myself. Cheers, Ford Grunt (Ben)
  4. Id expect to pay no more than $30-$35, if its just a dyno run. The FFA NSW dyno day hosted by Autotech which I attended cost $45 for three runs (one after the other) which included a Autotech cap (which is now permanently affixed to my head), laminated dyno chart, tropies for winners and bbq sausage sizzle. You can pencil me in as well if you like to buddy. Cheers, FG
  5. Yeah, I made it down to the NSW version ran by Autotech, was a great day. I personally posted a 290.8rwkw / 800nm (down about 20-30kws from what I was expecting from graph of previous owner of my car). Was good enough for 2nd NSW mostly because it was only me and MG that had modified XR6Ts in the class. Cheers, Ford Grunt (Ben)
  6. Nice
  7. I like the sound of the way you ended up doing it. Do it think it affected performance for the better or worse (or no noticiable difference)? Cheers mate thanks for explaining it out
  8. Hey, mate have to say that's looks sweet. Just wondering how you did it thou, as I would like to eventually do the same to my XR6T by splitting off exhaust into two. But looking under my ute, noticed that the wheel is clamped up under the rear left, which I figured would be in the way for the left hand exhaust. If you could provide a quick explanation (and a underbody pic if you have one) that would be awesome. Cheers, Ford Grunt
  9. bobcatsrus, auto web concepts sell them for $385 in pursuit ute style (number plate in middle), personally reakon these look very very sweet. http://www.awcinfo.com/secureshop/category.php?cat_id=87
  10. sh*t man that sucks. My sympathies to you mate. Hope you can get it fixed without too much trouble. Ford Grunt.
  11. Between yourself & Trough with loads, you blokes are crazy :D
  12. Eugene, Hey mate I know the place, across from Mitre 10 & near the auto carwash. I'm from Newcastle area too. Mate I'll be there for sure, just firm up the date. Being looking forward to attending a local dyno day. Cheers, Ford Grunt (Ben)
  13. Sorry mate, that's all I took of the GT. (Was going to take more but saved the space for other pics).

  15. phew, glad it wasn't one of those rumered kelly bros. not a fan of those pair.
  16. Again apologies for taking so long to reply. I think they ended up costing about $350 a corner. As it turned out got them from Bob Jane T-Mart with as a wheel/tyre package and got 12 months interest free period to pay them off! Heres a link to a place I nearly bought them to get you an idea of pricing... http://www.bowers.net.au/wheels.php3?actio...wProduct&id=164 Cheers.
  17. Hey mate, Sorry took a while to get back to ya. Haven't lowered the ute at all yet thou I want to. Ride is a little rougher than the factory 18s I had on before but have to say it rides alot smoother than I expected.
  18. Ha ha, its no good for you or your car Trough
  19. Hey mate, was checking the site today. Site says the AWC hard covers are due this month maybe you can fill us in on the progress. Interested to see the final products, I know for certain I will be buying the AWC rear spoiler at the AWC price of just under $200 rather than spend three times that on a geniune Ford one at $635. Cheers, Ford Grunt (Ben)
  20. You have yourself a bit of a delema there mate. Spose depends on what floats ya boat. If you can't sleep at night having a made up Tornado or you need the real thing. Personally, I am proud of the xr6t that I own. It has long departed from being stock mechanically and next is to go on to some more cosmetical changes. I would like to get hold a F6 style front bar also change the rear bar (I like the quad setup) but it will always still proudly wear its XR6 Turbo badge. I personally dont have a problem with changing body kits to similar F6 / Pursuit / GT items as they are quality looking items. Wouldn't go as far as change badges thou IMO. (Heading this off before it starts) People need to remember that where it be an XR6T turbo or an F6, both body shells run out of the Ford factory first and they are both Fords. The bars as simply bolted up in either case.
  21. Gee some great stuff on that link you put up ASNU, cheap too. Looks like you buy the middle leg seperate for $110 painted, see second advert down: http://www.awcinfo.com/secureshop/category.php?cat_id=315
  22. I'll follow this thread, dont know the answer but im interesed too.
  23. You couldn't have choose a better combination. (If you want v8 sound I reakon 'ol school v8 sound is better anyway, from the money you save from not buying the GT you could go and get an old Clevo powered for next to pocket change. Nothing beats the sound of an Clevo at full noise ---> well that's the path I have taken, 351 for weekend modded xr6T for the week.) Cheers, Ford Grunt

    My Xr6t Ute

Wow that is low, looks great but. Black is a good choice.
  25. Thanks for the positive feedback fellas. Trough, you'd know all about bringing the ute down! ive seen that pic of your ute with a load, man your crazy Nar, seriously I agree. I want to get the rear lowered and the front lowered a fraction. First, thou I want to get my hands on a colour-coded FPV hard cover with spoiler. anyone know how much they are? Later, lowered and would eventually like to get my hands on an F6 front bar. Cheers, Ford Grunt
