Hey J@ , thanks for that bud. Will get on to it soon, just want to get my exhaust and batt relocation done so Im ready for the GTX. Aaaarrrggh!!! prob end up doing front control arms this weekend instead of exhaust. that's as lame as buying front tyres have you done your tailshaft yet J? Seems some are fine upto 400 and some stockies are breaking even with street tyres? WTF? Kind regards Jon

Thanks guys, just has it in at my mates Ford dealership, he cant find what that code means either! LOL MAP correlation is what I have come up witn too from google searches. I clearded it with the SCT this morn and will see what happens. Found my new 20" front tyres scrubbing on inside again, one is real bad WTF!! had an aligment less than 2 months ago before I put the new rims & tyres on. It turns out the upper control arm bushes are split bad, wondered what that clunk was LOL, bugga.I dont mind paying for rear bags regularly as they are fun to wear but fronts are lame :( Kind regards Jon

Hi Guys Just a quick one. Has anyone logged a P023D DTC? Think its map sensor related but couldnt find much on the subject for this code? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thinking it may have been an overboost? The G6 is the only turbo car I've owned without a boost gauge, quite retarded really?! Hoping to get started on the exhaust next weekend, it keeps getting put off for fab work on other cars.....aaaaarrrrrgggh!! LOL Kind regards Jon

I dont think its anything to worry about Kind regards Jon

I have been playing around with turbo stuff for a long time as most of us have and have used many tuners over the years. I cannot reccomend Simon at Morpowa highly enough. The attention to detail he put into my tune was outstanding, he was also cheaper than Heinrich? I have mates that have had their Fords tuned by Bruce and seem happy enough with it. Personally I am more than happy to drive over the other side of town to deal with Simon, he will be tuning mine again soon. My mate used to tune my boosted LS motors and he was the only other tuner I have seen put so much effort into getting everyting spot on. Very happy with my G6's tune Kind regards Jon

Hi Angel, Im in SA. Might be worth the drive looking at that shine!! hehe yep its strange isnt it, my G6 doesnt have any probs letting both bags go when I give her some berries. Like I said its only open wheeled once, unlike the trusty LSD in my old VY SS that, well, just didnt work! LOL Kind regards Jon
-
be intrested to know what they think, my mate at Ford reckons he has never heard of it? bet he says that to all complaints LOL I reckon its going to be exactly what the mrs B4 is doing with the gate solenoid running slow. Anyway I look forward to hearing how you get on Kind regards Jon
-
Hi Angel that's an awesome looking G6 bud, loooove that colour. Good job detailing, you wana do a white one? LOL My G6 twins aswell, even up on the hoist when you turn one wheel the other turns like a slippery? Go figure? Only once did it catch me out when I tried to make a gap in the traffic around a corner. I had some tunes cranking and I thought gee its picking up slow today, a beep from a car behind me caused me to look in the mirror. To my horror the road was coverd in smoke with one big licorice strip being laid! LMAO Forgot I had DSC off!!! Kind regards Jon

Hmmmmm, I do around 600km a week?. Think I will leave it on ultimate as its my daily drive, E85 isnt available when the family and I decide to go for a holiday to KI or similar. Im sure I will probably end up going that route though, as you can never say no to a bit more power LOL Kind regards Jon

that's what I figure, alcohol is nice Kind regards Jon

Hey bud, mine does it aswell. The mrs B4 Scuby also does exactly the same thing. If you put a boost gauge on it you will find the boost will rise and fall with the tacho. I have put it down to the wastegate solenoid running on low duty cycle on light loads, its kinda annoying but doesnt bother me much. I wouldnt worry too much. I will ask my mate 2moz for ya, he has been a service adviser at Ford for over 20 years. Kind regards Jon
-
Hey bud, heres a pic. I had to take it with my phone as I am just setting up a new PC and havent installed the scanners drivers yet. I will post a proper scanned pic up when I get it all running. Been thinking about E85 a fair bit, I just do a heap of km's each week which is going to make it heaps dearer than 98.....spewin. Still might but. Kind regards Jon

Wow, guess Im on the limit then at 323!!! Will check with Simon 2moz. Fetishes are good LOL Kind regards Jon

LOL, is there ever any forum meets in SA? Quick question, whats the OEM fuel pump good for? About 350rwkw? I had a quick search but found f/a Kind regards Jon

Hey bud, yep I live in SA, south of the city up in the hills. Would love to go out on a cruise sometime if that ever happens in SA? All my mates with decent cars are too scared to take em out these days, that's what I am like with my EB XR. So it would be good to go out cruising with some late model Ford muscle and meet up with some members. Kind regards Jon

All sorted, thanks heaps. Will make another donation soon when the mrs gives my card a rest LOL Kind regards Jon
-
hey bud, thankyou, really appreciate it. Just let me know if you want the date and time of payment etc [ ] LOL, It is easy for me I guess. Been doing it for too long. Looking forward to seeing what I can come up with for the D/S airbox with some cold air feed. Also thinking bout making the exhaust so it splits into twin 3.5" with twin mufflers, then into single 4" tail pipe & muffler. Will see once its up in the air in a week or two Kind regards Jon

Hi Guys thankyou for the compliments. Paid donation via paypal last week? Though it would have been processed by now? Definately going the 76. I have bought a new garret exhaust housing with the big gate/ flapper so no need to port. Apparantly they dont make them any more? Hopefully it shouldnt overboost on the OEM 76 with just a cat back and 12psi accuator? Will make a 3.5" dump when I fit the GTX. Speak soon kind regards Jon

Hey Seaton, thanks bud A bit off topic, anyone know how long it takes to list you as a donating member after making your donation? kind regards Jon

Hi all Just a quick update on the G6ET. After work on saturday I made a new intake elbow as the OEM plastic unit looks like a dog turd. I have also heard stories of them blowing of and putting nice dents in bonnets? I noticed when I removed it that the raised bead isnt very large, not nice above 1 bar. I made a new unit from a 3" alloy donut with a 10mm piece of flat for the map sensor. Didnt take long at all. I will have to upgrade my cold side piping to 3" now!!haha I have attached some pics Got my ID1000 injectors on Thursday and will begin the battery relocation and drivers side air box this weekend coming. The 3.5" exhaust the weekend after that along with a 12psi W/G can. Its then back of to the dyno to see what I can squeeze out of the stock 35/76. Im not expecting much more but would think it should manage 330rwkw with better mid range due to the exhaust, shorter inatke and 12psi can. Hopefully it will hold 17psi rather than dropping off to 14. Take care all Kind regards Jon

Good Job!!!!!! Its like chalk and cheese comparing a FG with the VE. I have been a ford man all my life but have to admit to having a couple of LS1 commo's in between drinks. My mate has a twin turbo SS VE and has had many other LS turbo powerd Commos, after driving my G6ET he is looking for a FG turbo. LOL Again, good job, you will love it Kind regards Jon

Hi Guys Thanks for the info and advice. Definately thinking the 76, I can always pull it off and fit a 82 later down the track if I want more. Which I probably will.LOL Tried doing a bit of reading on here last night about them. I love bigger snails with a bit of lag follow by a massive rush. But I am also loving the strong low and mid range punch of the 76, it just makes for a real nice streeter. I do miss what I could have up top with the 82 but hopefully the GTX76 fills that void for me. At the moment I am much happier with low and mid range punch than top end, which will probably change LOL First things first though MUST DO TAIL SHAFT!!! Its something I keep overlooking cause it hasnt failed yet, be kinda nice if someone did a change over shaft instead of a rework yours arrangement. Will be calling ATS on Tuesday about the GTX KInd regards Jon
-
Hi Jim I will let you know how this GTX76 goes. Im a bit perplexed about the 76 vs 82 aswell. I will have to have another chat with Bill at ATS about the GTX snails. One thing I am concerned about with the garett is the small diameter turbine shaft, probably why you see so many 35's with the turbine wheel fallen off!! I hope the GTX has a larger shaft, as hanging a 700+hp compressor wheel off the same 35 shaft wouldnt be good? Hopefully the GTX is upgraded? The VL was and still is a great car. A freind of mine has a real nice Calais with stroked LS engine big cam etc, its a very tough ride. I seem to be only one of a couple of us out of all my mates who went down the turbo route after playing with V8's in the early days. Everyone else is still into the big cube 8's which are tough as with a few of them running 550+ cube engines plus boost. Im hearing you, I miss my XY 351 fairmont, wish I still had that, it would be worth a pretty penny now! I should spend my time and money on building a time machine instead!! Hmmmmm, I could go back to a time when my wife was still human! LOL Kind regards Jon

Thanks Jimmixr, I am pretty happy with the bonnet and wheels. Changed the whole look of the car, even the Mrs likes it now which is amazing, as its pretty rare that she like anything at all!! LOL When I got it back from the crashies with the bonnet I thought I better get some wheels cause it looked rather limp with the 18" factory alloys!! yep its been awhile since I was reading about playing with different early EFI systems. Starting to feel real old at 40 now :( shame cause I still feel 18 inside, its just the body doesnt anymore! haha. Things have changed so much from my early days of playing with Clevos. I am waiting to hear back from someone who is getting a 76GTX tuned in the next couple of weeks. Also a mate in NZ who has come up with a bolt on upgrade using a billet 92mm comp wheel which should be intresting. Might give him a call next week. I will see what the results are then make my descision. In the mean time I have a bit of fab work to get done on the G6, in between the Mrs cracking the whip to get stuff built around the house....damn it! take care kind regards Jon
