  1. Hey - me too! And I thought I was the only one trying to make school car parks interesting! Refreshing change from the Corollas/ Camries / Commodores / Hyundais, isn't it?
  2. Didn't Kengtr from Hyperdrive request no front wheel drives on the day as it requires the dyno to be set up differently or something? I think its onpage 1 or 2. I may make it late in the morning, if at all.
  3. Like this one in my garage.
  4. Just a bunch of wasps in a few weeks time instead. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually my attempt at subtle humour, Adam.
  5. I've had good and bad experiences with brokers, as I have with dealing directly with banks. Make sure your broker discloses his schedule of commissions from each lender - some are known to recommend lenders who pay them the best commission rather than the loan that best suits you. Most brokers now get you to sign and acknowledge their Disclosure of Interest (I thinks its even law in some states) so double check that this compares favourably with the kickback he gets from other banks. Your loan sounds competitive, flexible asnd with minimal up front costs. I recently refinanced with Bankwest an I'm satisfied with their product - In this case I actually did better by going direct than through a broker as I tried both. At the end of the day, borrowing for property can only be a positive thing and the market is far too competitive for any of the major players to be offering dodgy loan products.
  6. Throw one of those big f***ker wasp / hornets in your car. She'll find the huntsman, paralyse it and lay her eggs in it. Then voila - no more huntsman!
  7. Thank you Steve for orgainising another great cruise. Its good to put a few more faces to names. Only bad thing about events like this is just when I think I'm happy with my car, I talk to all you mob and see your beasts and it makes me want to do more mods!!!
  8. I even went through a carwash last night in preparation for the cruise. Cleanest my cars been for ages!
  9. Nice work Adrian. Is your clutch slipping?
  10. Sorry - can't get the link to work. Just type "xr6 turbo clutch" in an ebay search and you'll see what I mean.
  11. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FORD-BA-XR6-TURBO-1...1QQcmdZViewItem Anyone got one of these?
  12. I think I saw Extreme clutch kits for XR6T for $625 on Ebay? Otherwise ring Mal Wood.
  13. When I was researching our licensing / modification rules and regulations here in WA (as I was considering buying Adam's car) I found that rear facing bonnet vents are an illegal modification as a major eruption in coolant or whatever would cover the windscreen with crap and make for a dangerous situation. Obviously didn't apply in the days of L34 / SLR 5000 / A9X Toranas! Nices circlework in the background Jordak! New valve springs obviously working wonders.
  14. Just fixing it up <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm in for brekky.
  15. At last I've been put out my misery! I just had the possible purchase passed by my Minister of finance, got transport quotes to WA and had contacted WA licensing to find out about getting it registered and the mods passed here. My next step was to ring Adam................. Absolute bargain. Well done to the purchaser and congratulations to Adam for what you achieved with your car. Mark

    New Diff

Dealers seem very keen to replace diffs. Mine was OK - but they changed it anyway, along with an axle. Clunk went away, but returned within 10000ks.

  18. Don't worry Steve - there's so many different opinions on oils - both expert and amateur. Try a web search and you'll be none the wiser. There's no doubt of the benefits of fully synthetic oils - jet engines use them exclusively for maintainig their properties at extreme temperatures. From my research and therefore in my opinion, synthetic oils are undoubtedly a good thing for a car like the T, but not necessary. Regular changes, say every 5000 kms, with a good SM rated mineral or synthetic fortified oil will ensure longevity. I mean, taxis don't use synthetic and if it was economical to use it (ie extending engine rebuild life) they would certainly use it. I also believe Ford doesn't recommend its use (? Not sure - Happy to be corrected on this). Don't know about you, but I don't intend to have my T when its done 200 or 300 000kms. Sure, synthetic may extend engine life, but being a Ford you can guarantee that everything around the engine, like air con, power steering, transmission etc.. would have stopped working before your synthetic fed engine does and it all becomes a maintenance nightmare anyway. So I too am happy using Magnatec in my T. (I'm not anti synthetic - I use full synthetic in my Subaru as I feel its more "necessary" in that all alloy engine with finer tolerances. Just providing my opinion. Mark
  19. As a matter of interest what do you blokes think a fair price to pay for this EB would be...assuming its in fair running order (177,287km) and pretty straight. I'd be happy with paying $6k or under for this as a manual, given that everything works.
  20. Onya Lumpy - nice car. I'm sure you know this, but pre EL2 XR8 5.0 litre Windsors are notoriously choked up on the intake/ head side. If you're worried your exhaust is too big, you'll have to upgrade the intake side. Try to get hold of the intake manifold and throttle body off an AU - even the AU GT40p heads if you can. Uprade the cam and you're close to AU 220kw spec. Enjoy - (whats the prize?) Mark

  22. My car with 10 psi edit whistles like a Banshee but there certainly aint no loss of power! I think its just extra induction / turbo spinning noise. Whistling is now the dominant noise coming from up front under half to full throttle applications. Regapped my plugs on Friday (Thanks Jordak !!) so its running perfectly with no surging or missing. Your cylinders dropping at high rpm sounds like valve springs - same as mine. My next step is to fit a high flow cat to reduce back pressure which should assist this. Other than that I'm very happy with my generic tunes and I think the only advantage (for me and my personal use of the car) of a custom tune would be to bring the torque curve down (and power curve ramping up) to 2000rpm instead of the 3000 - 3500 rpm peak with the CAPA generics. When are you running down the quarter?
  23. In my T5 manual - best stock time was 14.1 @ 98 mph. With CAPA edit 10 psi generic prior to having plugs regapped it was still 14.1, but the best mph was 104. Keep in mind that I am a particularly bad launcher and even worse gear changer. Have now regapped the plugs and performance is heaps more consistent. Easily a mid 13 car (or less?) in the right hands... just not mine.
  24. As for prizes, I agree that highest rwhp should get a prize as this acknowledges commitment, $ spent and tuning. As for the other prize, how about everyone predicting what rwhp their own car will run before it goes on the dyno and whoever is closest wins the prize. This makes it totally open slather and anyone can win. Bit like DYO drag racing. Waddya reckon?
  25. Prefer this one myself http://videos.streetfire.net/hottestvideos...3D0275DC7D8.htm
