You don't need to apologise Steve - I (we) understand your frustration. People like myself express initial interest and then go and get themselves far too busy, sell their car(!!! I miss her!) and don't turn up. I don't have time to join a car club and hence I like the informal nature of our cruises etc... where I can turn up if I'm available and not feel guilty if I can't make it. But after hearing about the turn out for this event, I do feel guilty. It must be disheartening to go to all that effort and then have no-one turn up, so from me I'm sorry for my lack of communication. When I get my BF, I will be back as casual attendee. Thanks for all your efforts Steve! Mark

I could stretch to a Phoon, but all I want is a trouble free 12 second street car that doubles as a family car. Simon's regularly getting 12.6 and 12.7 second BFs with a tune only. That'll do me..... Whilst I love Phoons, I can't see $15k in extra value.

that's what I'm hoping for. I'm hearing that 06 BF T Autos with 15000ks are beginning to pop up at auction for low 30s, so that sounds like its worth waiting for. Then again I can get a demo 06 Phoon delivered for low 50s. Hmmmm?

No bargain. Just sold my 11/03 blueprint manual with 71 000kms for $27k. Purchaser was stoked with the car and its history and I'm happy with the price.

Hi all Sold my T today and nearly cried as it reversed out of my driveway for the last time and without me driving. I'll miss it dearly as it made me smile every time I drove it. I briefly considered the dark side and test drove a VE SS which was impressive and I couldn't really fault, but it just didn't have the mid range urge of my (edit only) T, so I figure only a BF will make me smile as much. I'll probably get a BF Auto as I've only heard good things about them. I have a couple questions for other owners who have upgraded from BA to BF: 1. Is the build quality much better with regard to the usual diff whine, brake shudder etc... etc.. issues? 2. Is it a much improved ownership experience overall? Any comments from members who have gone from BA to BF would be appreciated. Thanks Mark.

Burnout(private Road Of Course)
markxr6t replied to ford number 1's topic in All Videos and Multimedia
I just love the cameraman's understatement! (And a top burnout too!) -
Hi Adrian - if it was me I'd get the yellow pages, do lots of ringing and also call wreckers who import Jap half cuts who can put a 2nd hand one in with a 3 month warranty. Take a quick look at the Quokka even. Mark

I've been with Westnet for 6 years and have found their service to amongst the best I have experienced anywhere in any industry. They even explained why their prices are going up (Telstra) and gave me 3 months grace. I don't usually show loyalty to any commercial enterprise, but I do for Westnet because they've earnt it.

I enjoyed this one: Two old friends were just about to tee off at the first hole of their local golf course when a guy carrying a golf bag called out to them, "Do you mind if I join you? My partner didn't turn up." "Sure," they said, "You're welcome to play along." So they started playing and enjoyed the game and the company of the newcomer. Part way around the course, one of the friends asked the newcommer, "What do you do for a living?" "I'm a hit man," was the reply. "You're joking!" was the response. "No, I'm not," he said, reaching into his golf bag, and pulling out a beautiful sniper's rifle with a large telescopic sight. "Here are my tools." "That's a beautiful telescopic sight," said the other friend, "Can I take a look? I think I might be able to see my house from here." So he picked up the rifle and looked through the sight in the direction of his house. "Yeah, I can see my house all right. This sight is fantastic. "I can see right in the window. Wow, I can see my wife in the bedroom. Ha ha, I can see she's naked!! Wait a minute,, that's my neighbour in there with her..........He's naked, too!!! The*********!" He turned to the hitman, "How much do you charge for a hit?" "I'll do a flat rate, for you, one thousand dollars every time I pull the trigger." "Can you do two for me or not?" "Sure, what do you want?" "First, shoot my wife, she's always been mouthy, so shoot her in the mouth. Then the neighbour, he's a friend of mine, so just shoot his dick off to teach him a lesson." The hitman took the rifle and took aim, standing perfectly still for a few minutes. "Are you going to do it or not?" said the friend inpatiently. "Just be patient," said the hitman calmly, "I think I can save you a grand here."

PM nang3 or search his posts. He often raves about how well they work.

Put your 8psi generic tune back in and dyno that. Make sure its CAPA's latest tune. My car runs 238rwkw on the latest update of CAPAs 8psi tune - safe AFRs and smoother than stock. CAPAs 10 psi runs lean in my car, has a great feeling and sounding midrange but ultimately pulls less power and has less flexibility than the 8 psi tune. Strange but true for my car.

I reckon Delta Blues will win.

Thanks for organising it Steve. Its always fun catching up with everyone. I took a couple of walkie talkies along and gave one to ZMAN. I was worried it might be a bit juvenile, but do you think I could shut ZMAN up? I'm sure he never stopped talking the whole time we were driving......

That list says to me that the Territory is much better built than the Falcon!

Do all BFs have a Typhoon bottom end or just more recent ones?

Hypothetical Poll, How Much Will My Car Sell For?
markxr6t replied to JimmyXR6T04's topic in Off-Topic
My tips for a successful private sale: 1. Make your asking price close to what you want and don't put "ono" eg $26k or $27k in your case 2. Never be in a hurry. 3. Advertise heavily online and in papers / trading posts and use picture ads wherever possible. There's a reason why dealers always use pictures. 4. Always be totally honest. Point out scratches and faults. Tell them the car was modded. Encourage mechanical inspections. People respect this and trust you, making your car more attractive than a dealer bought one. 5. Always go with any test driver and check their licence first. Good luck! Mark -

You should get $25k with those k's. I also recommend returning it to stock. -
I have a BP Card which pays for fuels, oils, octane boost, carwash etc... at the servo and is also accepted at most car dealer service centres and tyre retailers.

I'll join the night cruise.

Go for it! I'll consider an ex chaser when I upgrade to BF. A stock XR6T regularly caned and regularly serviced sure as hell isn't going to be any more worn out than a 280rwkw edit + injector T similarly driven. And many of them are similarly or even more vigorously driven!
-
that's an impressive time for a 100mph terminal Turbo6man. You must really have that launch down pat. TE50 T3 isn't it? Best production Windsor the world's ever seen! Classic car - don't sell it.

Centre Ford consistently quote very fair prices, actually follow up on warranty work and I highly recommend them. I believe XXXR6T and M6XR6T have similar views.

I'm running 238kw, T5 stock clutch 66 000kms. No problem. Ford put a new gearbox in recently and said the original clutch was fine. I do mostly drive like a Nana though.........

Some novated leases are more flexible than others and I think Steve's is quite flexible. For example, I tell my package provider (McMillan Shakespeare) how much to take out of my salary, not them tell me, and I'm yet to see a lease out to full term and have never suffered any financial penalty from a finance provider (just pay the balance owing, obviously). As for mods,I don't think the people that process your reimbursements or charge card expenses would consider that "Bosch 968 injectors" and "Tremec T56 Transmission" are anything but normal vehicle repairs and running costs. Novated leasing is basically a relationship between you, your employer (and the ATO), a finance company and a package provider. Rarely have I come across someone from one of these camps who actually understand the others' roles so its important that you make sure you do, to make it work best for you. Low interest rates (maybe 1% higher than mortgage), GST free payments, pre tax $ (so for most of us its costing 70% it normally would) and an opportunity to make a profit at residual time make it a winner I reckon.
