  1. Nice work - well driven! Heaps better than my best of 14.5@98mph anyway! Any clutch slip? Mark
  2. I know we sound like kids with our new edit toys over here in the West and I know that custom tunes give far better results, but I can't believe the bang for my bucks I just got for $850!!! Many thanks to DCVIN for finding the deal! Mark
  3. A big thanks to Mark for persuading me to purchase the capa edit. He came over tonite and we plugged her in with the 10psi generic tune and took her for a spin...and oh my god what a difference, from about 3000 revs she just hammers. Z <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Instant 13 1/2 second car - just add edit. Your car hammered with that tune mate. Momentarily made me wish I had an auto again but I'm sure I'll get over it once I get a tank of 98 RON and upload the 10psi map. Can't wait for Motorplex to reopen in September - might even have a custom tune by then....
  4. Daniel said its below cost and I believe him - otherwise we would have seen this price before.
  5. Just buy 2 - you'll have no problem offloading the 2nd one. I could have sold my 2nd one 4 times over
  6. I'm pretty happy with the standard 8 psi tune - equal driveability to the Ford tune. ZMAN has come up with the $ for the 2nd unit. DCVIN is looking for someone to go halves (sorry mate feel bad that you found the deal and I jumped ship with the first person that came up with the $), Interested members are: Gavin K, tur troughlolly and NOS XR There's bound to be some matches there. Should still be 6 left. Suggest you get together and snaffle them. Daniel at Chipmaster will take direct deposit and looking at the interest here I don't think there's much risk in getting 2 as you'll always offload the other 1. Mark
  7. Have you tried the 10PSI map? Planning on visiting Hyperdrive to see what gain the 8PSI map has given you? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nah Daniel suggested it but asked if I had Ultimate 98 in it - but the last time I flled was with 95 RON so I left it with 8psi. Also, I believe you need to regap the plyugs for the 10psi map. I'll try it soon though.... Has anyone had a glitch free "plug and play" with the standard 10psi map?
  8. Zoran has to convince his other half first....
  9. Installed generic 8psi tune whilst still at Chipmaster. Boost seems to start later and peak later (say 2500 and 4000 instead of 2000 and 3500). Couldn't really pick the difference until I was on Tonkin Highway and opened her up in third - that's when I felt the 2psi difference! I don't plan to get a custom tune for a few months yet - any tips for maximising fun with generic tunes?
  10. Got 2 @ $1700 just then. He had 6 left by COB today. ZMAN - you first dibs on the other one if you can convince your Minister of Finance tonight. Gavin.K - If ZMAN doesn't come through its yours. I'll be in touch Good value, I think. Hey Goran - buy one anyway for your Fairmont and get it reset when you get your T.
  11. Rang Daniel. I don't think they'll go any cheaper as he's selling below cost. Won't accept $850 cash for 1 either (I tried that).
  12. PM Sent
  13. I want one. Who wants to go in with me to get 2 @ $850 each. I can get them this afternoon and you can fix me up later. PM me if you're serious. Mark
  14. Mad Who?
  15. Count me in
  16. Driven both, loved both, bought a manual and love it too, even if it is a T5. The only times I wish I had an auto was my 2 trips to the drags. Whatever you choose, you'll wonder about the other but you won't regret your decision. Mark
  17. 588.8 is my Penguin Ball Record
  18. 86 my highest On a similar theme try this: http://home.kabelfoon.nl/~hopha/penguin.swf Mark

    Omg

Interesting juxtaposition isn't it. 2000lb laser guided bomb destroys an entire housing block in Baghdad, it's a 'War on Terror'. The same thing happens in one of the "Co-Alition of the Willing" countries and it is suddenly 1000 times worse. Death anywhere is still death, Innocents anywhere are still innocents. Brendan <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes - Australian media has a certain kinship with the US and UK, both English speaking Western consumer societies (to extent of "disrupting normal programs" )- and understandably so: It scares the crap out of us that it could happen here! Happens every day in Israel, Iraq and other parts of the world.... In response to an earlier post that Bush might flatten the Middle East - That'll never happen because of 3 letters.... O...I...L. Condolences to all those affected. Mark
  20. School Principal. Use ZMAN to find my Foreign Language teachers (and we didn't even know we had the same employer and same car until we recognised each other on this forum!). Since school car parks are almost always full of Corollas and Getzes, don't think I'll be of much assistance to anyone here..... Mark
  21. If its Rodney Sammut's green EL XR6 you're talking about, its actually supercharged. Cuts a 10.46 or thereabouts
  22. There's a few capa/dealers edit tuners with good reputations in Perth. D&T Performance in Wangara (I think M6 XR6T had is edit and custom tune there and was happy) Mark's Workshop in York has a good reputation all round. Simon from Xtreme Ford Tuning seems to have done lots of xr6t tunes and I've only heard/read good things Daniel at Chipmaster has a good reputation, particularly on LS1s and could no doubt transfer his tuning skills to xr6ts Don't think you'd go to far wrong with any of the above, but that's only from what I've heard - not from experience. Mark
  23. Stevo You will at this stage have to count out the M3 as he had a prang on Wed...he braked in traffic but the bloke behind didn't....not too big a prang but I suspect he will be off the roads for a few weeks...will let you know if he gets it back in time. No chance for me too sleep in Cikas I have 3 children under the age of 9....so sleeps ins is something of a myth... Z <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 3 under 9? Try 3 under 4 and you might get some sympathy from me....... I can't remember what its like to have a life, let alone a sleep in. Its fortunate that 3 baby seats fit across the back of the T otherwise I might not even have that. Mark
  24. Just a suggestion. Rather than dealing with the complexities of becoming a club and financial issues, getting incorporated etc.. why not use the spare funds to get someone to provide all the food and reimburse them and just donate the rest of the money to this forum since that's how we met anyway? I'm not sure if a full-on club will actually add any value to our current informal but fun arrangement. Just my thoughts Mark
  25. I also have a mate with an modded M3 who wanted to put his car on the Dyno. Dan just let us know closer to the day if we need more people to make up the 20. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd happily welcome a modded M3 to our dyno day anytime - but only if he takes me for a ride
