The black one is an ex- fz6 cup race bike & the other is my street bike, KTM 1290 Superduke R. I just do the occasional track day. I got right into it a few years ago and started doing a few race meetings but its an expensive hobby, definitely a rich mans sport. Joe tuned the car to be fast and not just smoke the wheels so it builds boost progressively and doesn't hit full boost until 4000rpm, However it will spin up in second when it hits full boost and if the tyres are cold it will spin in 3rd at full boost. (depending on the quality of the road) As far as clutches go I'm leaning towards a NPC kit. I got a quote from them on Friday for a kit that will support 430rwkw but I've emailed them back for a price on the next kit above this. I'm hoping after the next round of mods I'll be making 400 - 430 at the wheels so I'd like to have a bit up my sleeve. Car is no longer a daily driver so I'm not too concerned about retaining a factory feeling clutch peddle. The factory clutch is still holding up at the moment but now that I know it has to be replaced I have been abusing it a bit more than usual. may the boost be with you....

we have a fleet of automatic, diesel Expensive Daewoo cruze's at work. Farking hideous to drive.

I showed the paint work a bit of love today. Paint was still in pretty good condition but it did badly need the clay bar on the tops. Did the whole car and a wax polish. Shiny as faark now.

Nice sleeper. Should put a ladder and some conduit on the roof For sh*ts and giggles.

Thanks everyone...I did give it a test run out to wakefield park and back with two bikes before it was painted. It was solid as. The only thing I changed was the addition of two more lugs on the top rack to prevent it rotating up under hard acceleration. I did consider that but it's not necessary. The working load limit of the tail gate is 500kg. Each bike weighs less than 200kg, than also consider that at most, only half of the mass of each bike is applied to the tail gate...it is more than strong enough.

I don't remember the hub to guard measurements but I do remember my F6 ute sat about 1'' higher at the back with stock suspension.

Thanks guys. I enjoy doing little projects like this. Very satisfying to see the finished product from what starts off as just an idea in your head. Full write up here --> http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/90005-setting-up-ute-for-motorcycle-transport/

Welded tabs onto the top rack for mounting bolts Rubbed back & primed All painted & fitted upThis is how the end of the top rack finished up. It locates on the brackets on the tub walls and is completely removable with only two bolts. Bottom rack simply drops in and locates into grooves in tub liner Plastic tubs & fuel drum in place

The aim here was to set up my ute to carry two road bikes + track gear. Two bikes will fit no problem but if you need to carry gear as well than it starts to get a bit tight. Most of the time I will only be carrying one bike, but on occasion I will take both so its nice to have the set up for it. I had a good think about maximizing the space in the ute. I decided to position the bikes 400mm away from the head board and leave this space at the front for all my gear. This means having the tail gate fully open, which I'm fine with. (it would never fully close even with the bike all the way forward against the headboard, I use to tie it up against the back tyre) Loaded up both bikes to take some measurements and see how its all going to fit. Cutting, folding & welding plate for the front wheel chocks. Bottom rack welded up, trial fitting. Welding top rack & trial fitting Front section reserved for storage, sized to snugly fit two large storage tubs & a 20lt Fuel drumBottom rack will simply drop in with out fixings to locations in the tub linerTop rack will be mounted to brackets and be totally removable with only 2 bolts Brackets made up and welded to the support posts of the tub behind the tub liner. Note the passenger side support post is actually 20mm or so further back than the drivers side. The fuel neck must have been an after thought. (ford design quality) Tub liner back in and holes drilled. Welded some tabs on the outer brackets to locate the top rack.

Finished off my bike rack today. Pretty happy with how it turned out. I'll do a dedicated thread later on tonight of the whole rack build from start to finish with a heap of pictures.

As you said, they have accepted liability, so I wouldn't worry about going else wear to get a report done,I'd book it back in with them, leave it with them for a whole day and get them to sort it out, that way they'll have more time to work it out. My original leafs use to creek going in and out of driveways. WD-40 is water based so you really need to use the proper grease or something a little better for lasting results. Hopefully they get it sorted for you, I myself cant stand annoying squeaks and creeks.

+1 for pitlane, I've only ever herd good things about them... like there Facebook page as they always post up when they are running specials and they regularly put up dyno clips and other cool info.

Here's a sneak peek at my latest little project. Setting up the ute to carry 2 road bikes + track gear...I'll do a little write up when I'm finished, I still need to tidy up a few pieces so I can drop it all off to get powder coated this week. OK so if you use your imagination the final result will look something like this, in this location.Front section is reserved for storage, this has been sized to snugly house two large storage tubs & a 20lt Fuel drumBottom rack will simply drop in with out fixings to locations in the tub linerTop rack will be mounted to brackets and be totally removable with only 2 bolts

nice write up bud...Its nice to see the progress in power and times at the strip.

I reckon something subtle would look good, not too big..... I think fordxr6turbo.com in white text is all you need.... Other colors available on request. Something like the mighty car mods ones - I like that font also.

All the ''know it all retard caunts'' on the face book group - FORD XR6, XR6 turbo, XR8 an GT $Trading Post$ fans page I've come close to deleting the group a few times now but keep it for the odd bargain that pop up every now and again.

As like a few others, I plan to hang on to the F6. This year it will be parked up and no longer used as my daily driver. Just a fun thing to have parked in the shed. Powerfull enough to keep most entertained, purposeful when you need it be. I enjoy taking really good care of it and I like how it still looks stock inside and out but has close to 1000nm at the treads. I hope I still enjoy it the same in 20 years time.

Is your car pressently stock? Are you planning on doing a few other mods or just want to improve the sound? What power level are you chasing after your final round of mods (if modding)? What is your budget like? Lots of options from 'cheap yet functional' to 'quite expensive' Need to know what your goal is? There are many different options and combinations.

looks mint.....im jealous, I really wanted a white f6. I'm thinking of doing the same on my rims, I'm getting bored with the look of them......not sure how the car will look overall with matt twisties against the silver on the car....How many cans did you go through??.... you said you did 6 coats per rim.

Enjoy fella's. I was keen on this one.....I'm nursing a fractured left wrist. Surgery yesterday, a newly acquired titanium plate & screws. That zf 6 speed is looking better & better everyday. 6speed manual problems.........

I like data logging.....Maybe someone more knowledgeable could chime in,,,,.....is the variation in boost pressure with the change of temperature the ecu adjusting boost and timing to suit intake air temps when tuned in closed loop???

If you want a cheap set up that makes a hectic noise, have a think about just replacing the standard air box with a pod filter in its location. You can than box it off too so it actually works good. Very cheap & easy diy if you keep the factory cross over and piping instead of mounting a pod filter on top of your hot turbo and manifold.
