Welcome to the club. Enjoy the POWAHH!! Joe is great to deal with. How much boost?

What wheels are on the r spec. I like em. Some one is a fan of lightning strike.

^cheers gaz, how would a twin plate organic hold up over time to clutch kicking 2nd or 3rd gear to initiate a slide?
-
I had another chat with NPC today Looking back at the options from NPC $1570 - Single plate organic $1670 - Single plate button $1815 - Single plate cushion button $2500 - Twin plate organic $3000 - Twin plate dual friction (organic / button) After speaking to NPC for the second time and getting a few more options, I'm leaning towards theír single plate cushion button. It is more suited to my driving style & what I want from the car. If my car was a daily driver I'd go for the twin plate organic. If money wasn't so much of an issue id go straight for the twin plate dual friction. They mentioned the reason they normally don't recommend the cushion button is because often people will drive them like a normal clutch and burn them out in no time. I'm still trying to decide.........its so hard to buy good quality parts when you're a tight ass jew. Anyone had experience with a cushion button..... thoughts?

I highly doubt it mate. The arse end of the ute is very squared off where as the sedan has a more rounded shape....., I think the sedan spoiler would look too far out of place.
-
That's good to know mate. Glad you're happy with it. Doug did mention those things to me too, 430 may be a conservative figure but I'm more concerned about the torque I'll be making when get up over 400 and weather it will be up to the task. I just don't want to have to upgrade the clutch again in 12 months time. How is the xtreme ceramic twin plate Gaz? Have you got it in yet.
-
I spoke to Doug at NPC about this set up and he advised against it. He said their single plate kits will still out perform a refurbed ap racing twin plate. He mentioned the ap racing twin plate is quite a heavy set up (kg) I'm very much un-decided on what to get. The organic single plate will be right on the limit when I go e85 & with regards to the button clutch, I have taken your advise and decided against it....I think it would be a big shame to loose the great drivability that the car still has. I'm starting to lean towards a twin plate now, just pay the extra money and be done with it. I'm going to call NPC back tomorrow and have another chat.

The back tyre on the ktm was done nearly 6 months ago. It goes more like an off-white color over time. You can just touch it up / re apply to make bright white again.
-
No I just used a white paint pen bro. I did the same to my tyres on my race bike last year and really liked how it looked so I thought I try doing a little on the car.

Epic build thread going on here Joe. I've just spent the last 3 days catching up on 6 months worth of build thread. hahaha. So close now. Well done mate, there is a lot of knowledge between you and your old man. So much time and effort going in to this motor, it will all be worth it in the end mate. Great work...!!!

Any ideas how much power that set up would handle. And what they are like handling abuse?
-
I'm intrigued...I'll give them a ring on Monday...It doesn't worry me if the car is off the road for 2 weeks
-
Well I've got another 7 days until payday so I have another week to decide. 2k is my budget & It has to hold up to 450 killer wasps. NPC definatepy rate highly from others.
-
Thanks for your input...Yeah... I was wondering just how bad it would drive. Car is only driven for fun on the weekends so drive ability is not as important as it once was. From what I understand (correct me if I'm wrong) with this type of clutch, the corect way to drive them is to engage or disengage, there is no in between, which is why they suck for street use eg... driveways, speed bumps, hill starts..... is this what your getting at wiggum?
-
Looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet guys. My standard clutch is pretty shagged now. It won't hold power on the flat in 3rd. I'm pretty confident I'll go with the NPC Single plate - 6 puk sprung center carbotic button clutch. It seems to be the most cost effective for the highest power rating. From NPC "This clutch is better suited to extremely hard street use where engagement feel is not a high priority. 450 rwkw is no problem for this style of clutch." Looking at 1700 for the complete kit. On a positive note, I'll be one step closer to an e85 tune

I used half a can of Black, 2 cans of Anthracite Grey, 1/8 can Glosifier. I had the black & Glosifier left over from a previous job. The Anthracite grey covers extremely well.

We are getting a hoist after our new shed goes in. Until then I will continue with the struggle
-
I felt like I needed a change so I decided to plastidip my standard wheels Anthracite Grey I took all the wheels off so I could work at a comfortable height. A lot of time spent doing this job is just preparation. I did 2 light coats of matte black as my base coats, than 2 - 3 wet coats of Anthracite grey & Finally 1 coat of Glossifier Final result - It might not be everybody's cup of tea but I'm pretty happy with how it looks. Normally I don't like dark wheels on silver cars but I just really felt like a change. If I get sick of it down the track I'll just peel it back off. The car is still filthy so once the rain f^cks off I'll give it a good wash and take some photos out in the sun.

Life with out a hoist........... the struggle is real...!!!

FYI - I enquired about some npc single plate clutches a little while ago.... Hi Daniel, I would recommend our heavy duty coppermix organic kit. This style of kit will still drive like factory retain a comfortable pedal effort & hold up to 430rwkw. $1572 inc gst for the kit $49.5 inc gst delivery And the next single plate above this one was..... Hi Dan, The strongest single plate kit we do is our 6 puk sprung center carbotic button clutch. This clutch is better suited to extremely hard street use where engagement feel is not a high priority. 450 rwkw is no problem for this style of clutch. $220 inc gst on top of the coppermix organic kit.

Curious on npc twin plate, any idea on dollars?
