  1. I've herd a little talk on the town about the quick fill petrol station in unanderra possibly selling e85 in the near future. Apparently they have a new tank ready to go but no bowser yet... I'm going to stop in there during the week to find out if its true. Would be awesome, its right down the road from my work. Sent from my GT-N7105 using Tapatalk
  2. Yes we did take all that into consideration. Once you remove the flywheel you will have enough dowel pin exposed to pull them out if needed. Hollow dowel pins wouldn't be my first choice in this situation. Shear stress is measured from force and cross sectional area. Obviously the hollow pins will have less cross sectional area which results in higher shear stress. The dowel pins we used are solid diam 10 precision machined, heat treated din6325 standard with a m6 tolerance. We used an imperial drill size 25/64 which is 9.92mm. The dowel pins are 10.006mm - 10.015mm
  3. That's awesome. Nice work Gaz
  4. Wow... That really sucks. How much power was that car making arronm? And what was the benefit of using hollow dowel pins instead of solid??
  5. your spot on k31th. Drilling flywheel and crank for dowel pins.
  6. Haha. Yeah mag base drill is awesome but it belongs to a mate of mine....and the hoist belongs to another mate.. You know what they say, keep you friends close, and your friends that own hoists even closer.
  7. ah you know, just your normal Saturday morning in the shed
  8. oh man... my gearbox started making what I hope is just the roll over noise. It sounds horrible. Conditions are the same as everybody describes, but I also get the noise on decel in 1st and 2nd (which leads me to believe maybe it is lunched). Im going to seek some advice from a gear box specialist. I'll see what they say but to start with I was going to dump the oil this saturday and have a good look, if the oil doesn't have anything catastrophic in it I will put some new stuff in and see how it sounds. I'm already running the expensive penrite gear oil. I changed it probably 10 - 15k kms ago before the car was tuned. this sucks balls
  9. Cheers mate. I only drive it on the weekends usually. It has gt335 wheels now and I took all the stickers off the back window.
  10. I set up my ute to carry 2 road bikes, probably a little more elaborate than what you're after but it may get some ideas flowing full write up here http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/90005-setting-up-ute-for-motorcycle-transport/
  11. holy crap that's a big turbo
  12. Amen ^^ I went from an inline 4 to a twin 3 bikes ago and haven't looked back. Cant beat a twin for torque & midrange power, they make great road bikes.
  13. Nice find there. A white manual R spec
  14. On the way home from a 450km ride to Taralga and back last Sunday
  15. eeeeeeewwwwwwww
  16. looks mean with the dark agents EDIT: you're on the right track mate, think about your desired power figure, than look into mods and start saving. Do it all in one hit and you'll save a lot of money on dyno tunes. I have a retarded mate that had his car tuned 3 times within 6 months.
  17. cant say I've ever been a fan or anything made by chrysler/jeep
  18. Wow, thanks for the write up. Good job with nice results. I'm really keen to get a set up installed before summer comes around again.
  19. Yes, great day guys. I had a ball. Looked like every was having good fun today. Nice to see all the cars and meet a few new people. Looking forward to seeing the pics and footage. btw Joe, that 900m long power skid that you managed on the private road as you left tonight sure did look and sound superb....
  20. Ok mate. Well leave now but werected heading up mt keira and on the m5
  21. Were here now mate. Planing to leave at 12.30
  22. I wouldn't recommend it. Back when my ute was standard I removed the rear section of the exhaust (from the diff back) for a few days to do a rear muffler delete. The car was noticeably less responsive with the rear section removed. And the sound was loud/drowny and not very clean....The standard tune is designed to work with the full length exhaust. I would be modifying your standard rear section after you finish the tray. You will be able to get it sitting nice and neat up under tray. Do a muffler delete if you're after more sound but keep the pipes full length. ?
  23. ^ yeah it has more than enough for the road but.......I just love the powah! my last 3 bikes all made big power so I do miss it a little....
  24. I recently sold the 1290 superduke and downgraded to a 990 SMT,Wow what a bike. Obviously its been a big step backwards in power but man, what a well rounded package, I'm really loving it, handling and suspension is superb, very raunchy motor too, brakes are fantastic & really comfy to ride. I wanted something more suitable for long trips away but still fun to ride up and down the mountain.. I think I got exactly what I wanted. I also wanted a bike I can rack up a heap of kms on and not worry too much about depreciation.. I do miss the power but I keep reminding myself that in reality I'm still having just as much fun and at the same time, I've been able to put a nice 10k cash injection into the bank account.
  25. single spinner sounds like a safety feature matty.. .. live rear axil with an lsd that works quite well, lowered with stiffer LEAF springs + the addition of the rear sway bar. It handles great in the dry....!!!
