  1. Had a light tug and a pull at the wire, came out attached to nothing. Looks like a clean break too as if it had been cut. Looks like I'm going to have to track down old owners details. Oh well. Had a fiddle with the 'alarm settings' in console on other key and looks to be normal setting for these cars to produce a loud beep to confirm alarm. Will let you know when I find out!
  2. Cheers for the thoughts and comments. I'll grab a photo of it, just gotta wait for the mrs to get home from work as it's her daily drive, sigh. One remote does have a very loud high pitch 'BEEP BEEP' when locking and a long 'BEEEEP' when unlocking, so loud that I feel sorry for the unsuspecting pedestrian standing in front of the car not expecting it. I've had a look for an aftermarket alarm module as a previous car had a button hidden, found nothing and puzzled as to why if it was, its only a few inches from the key barrel. After posting last night I thought it may be a bi-modal exhaust control to flip a butterfly or something as the exhaust note is fairly deep (makes the cylinder cut-out sound like a v8 supercar hitting the limiter :sungum: ). Unfortunately I've never been near or in another G6ET or XR6T to know whether its standard. And haven't found a NOS bottle yet either haha I only have an address of it's first owner and doubt dealer would hook me up with a phone number.
  3. Hey guys, New here... after driving a mates stock XR6 decided myself and the partner had to upgrade from her little Kia Rio... (I'm a Expensive Daewoo boy too, so says a lot about the FG range) Ended up with a G6ET after taking one for a spin and couldn't get over the get up and boogie pretty much from idle. (Test drove during rain so wasn't game enough to give it a full squirt, but even at 60% throttle it put a massive grin on my face) I've also driven an LS2 powered clubby, doesn't come close to the turbo. I ended up buying the car I test drove as it only had 45000k's. Its a late '08 so I assume one of the 1st off the show room floor. The guy had also only just swapped it for a brand new Jeep the previous day and hadn't even been detailed or road worthied yet. It's fully optioned with everything except the 19" wheels & tow bar (satnav, dvd player, adjustable peddles, boot waterproof insert, cargo loading protector) After reading around and looking at photos on the forum I have noticed a couple of things about this G6ET vs others.. 1 - It's got goldish paint (labelled 'beige' in service book, no where near as dark as 'havana') and I have not seen another one with this colour... has anyone else seen or heard of one.. or was this the least most popular colour? It also has the cashmere interior so from what I can see a very rare colour combination. Probably not everyones preference, but I think it looks great. 2 - On the steering column below the key barrel, I have a red 'push' style button slightly smaller than a 5c piece. I've traced the wire (pos and a neg only) and it runs down the side of the centre console and disappears under the storage bin. It's driving me crazy as I can't find what it does (I've sat in the car for 30 mins pressing it in all sorts of different patterns with the car on/off, dvd players on/off.. in P, D & R. Just wonder if anyone also has this button before I start going pulling the centre console and carpets up to trace this wire? Liam
