  1. first step to take would be to do a compression test and then a leak down test, this will tell you the mechanical condition of the engine. Is the car stock or has it been tuned?what suburb in perth are you from?
  2. I wouldn t risk it mate were are you located ?
  3. Dont waste your money on cheap and nasty coolers, save up the coin and buy a nizpro cooler do it once do it right that way if you do more mods in the future you know your cooler will work
  4. caliper bolts are 15mm, ring spanner will work they are pretty tight though so you might want to use a breaker bar too crack them also you will need a rubber mallett to hit rotors off,and a g clamp to push caliper pistons back in.
  5. get an fg xr6t lot nicer car than the bf and will also make more power if you are going to mod it
  6. 4l80e is not found in any commodores standard they have the much more fragile 4l60e,4l80e's are found in hummers and other gm trucks they are basically a electronic controlled turbo 400 with overdrive so if you go down that path you will need to either go full manual or get a stand alone trans controller (fast make a decent one).when built right they are a super tough trans.
  7. depends if noise pisses you of plumb it back if you dont care about noise vent to atmo, either way is not going to change performance
  8. go for the true track if your your going to use it for street and strip. Is it a ute or sedan?
  9. 300-350rwkw is were they normally let go,trans cooler will help it to live a little while longer probably change the oil aswell when you do trans cooler
  10. if the actuator diaphram has failed you will be able to tell by doing this apply compressed air(not to much)into the actuator if you can hear air leeking it has failed, also once you have applied the air to it the rod should not return it should hold pressue untill you let of air.
  11. are you currently having problems getting pressure down?if you have a decent after market fuel pressure regulator you shouldn't have to mess with the factory return line, have used factory return lines on quite a few different combos and always been able to get rail pressure down to 4bar as it should be.Also not sure what line you plan on using to feed the surge,if you are using the factory line make sure you get rid of the factory filter and replace it with a stainless element filter.
  12. castorl edge 0w40 is what I use, recomend you do aswell even though its a bit pricey it is quality
  13. gtx 35/82r will bolt straight on and make more power than all of the above for not much extra cash if you are planning on changing turbo any way
  14. save up the cash and get a nizpro cooler rest dont even come close!
  15. fairly common problem just put a slightly longer bolt and it wil do up tight
