Yes I know we have heard it many times before, how much is insurance, how much did you pay, your age, etc.. But before i went on holidays I shopped around for my comprehensive insurance.. Best Price for a 26yr old living in Sydney's west was roughly $2,500 (last year was $2800) . After shopping around and doing online quotes with various companies I found AAMI to be the cheapest at around $1800. I saved the quote online and thought I would pay for it when i came back after holidays.. 2 weeks later (yesterday) i decided to ring them up and pay for the quote. I gave them the reference number and was told I could not insure the car as i am under the age of 30 years old. Even though during the time I signed up online, i entered all my details correctly including my date of birth, it acknowledged the fact I was 26 and even offered me to purchase the policy online once i completed the questions. Anyway after having a gripe with the customer service rep on the phone, she told me she would transfer me to Just Cars insurance.. after nearly 30 mins on hold, i finally spoke to someone.. she asked me all the usual questions and they asked me to hold for a price... I should have held onto my seat... $4800 to cover the car for $55,000 value. This is what I think of that... I ended up keeping with the current provider Ford Insure at the price of $2158. I can't believe where people get off in charging such ridiculous prices..
