  1. Jas98, I was informed it was an option by a salesman who took me for a test drive in a g6et that it was an option in the BA model at least, but he said that most of them had it.
  2. Haha I feel like I know what to look for in terms of problems with these falcons, however I'm no mechanic and would probably miss some major stuff while making sure everything that is wrong with my current car is OK in the new one. The issue with my BA is when I bought it, the interior was perfect and the exterior and most of the mechanical stuff was alright. Now the interior stinks, the motor has a weird noise, the diff bush is rooted, up for a front end bushing replacement along with shockies all round, brakes STILL have issues locking on and I simply can not be bothered, too much money has been wasted trying to resolve my brakes. Turbo has a massive exhaust leak and I suspect the housing is cracked due to bolts on the turbo itself coming loose every 5 minutes. I guess that's what 30,000 extremely hard kilometers do to a car, it wrecks it. At least it got an oil and filter change every 5000 ish km through that time ugh and I swear this forum is broken, I click quote and nothing happens, I clicked post reply and nothing happened.
  3. You can always put your own "diff bush inspection panel" in the boot. I plan to use a hatch like you see on kayaks and some small sailing boats which will end up pop riveted in to cover up my self made "diff bush inspection panel" I plan on making. It will allow for replacement of the diff bush so I can do some skids, wreck a diff bush, pull over and replace it with a new one (haha hopefully with a good super pro bush that never happens). Quite a few say it's hell dodgy, I reckon its only dodgy if it looks dodgy or if a workshop does it that you've paid.
  4. Get rid of the BA like I'm doing and get a FG. Else you'll have a BA with a coyote engine in it. You'll still have all the lovely BA problems.
  5. Getting rid of BA (dont wanna spend a cent more on it). Probably sell car quite cheap given it needs diff bush and a few other things. Looking at BF/FG's hopefully I'll be in one soon! Looking for one which has things such as suspension done already and isn't flogged.
  6. Got a capa flash tuner (xcal 2) for sale which'll work for BA/BF 4spd auto and manuals (I think it works for all of them but just doesn't tune the ZF auto). XFT told me they would tune with this device however I want a car with some ZF goodness. $200 on this forum, am chasing slightly more elsewhere. if ya got a 4spd it's a no brainer with the money you save get the fuel injectors
  7. the capa 1 I believe is a good paperweight these days I believe you can't load custom tunes into them no more. I have a capa 2 tuner and XFT said they are happy to load their tune into it when I eventually get around to bringing my car to them (of course they wont just load a tune and send you on your way, it comes with dyno time etc). I was under the impression to move my flash tuner on it would have to be sent back to capa?
  8. That's pretty awesome I defiantly gotta see this thing next year!
  9. haha I had a diff bush done under warranty as well...it lasted 400km! They even took photographs of underneath my car and the tyres and guards because of all the time my car has on private property with tarmac for burnouts. Basically I argued that the diff bush must have been rooted before I got the car...They replaced it despite all the rubber underneath the car. It was literally like two skids and I swear it just became all loose and rear end was all over the place again :(
  10. I believe the off set bush is the BA and the centered ones is BF onwards? However I'm no mechanic.
  11. Hahaha yeah, unemployment sucks. Could sell everything and live in an F6 though? I'd have enough with my tax return. I can imagine it, whack a cheeeezy looking plastic bullbar on the car with big CB radio antenna, big spotlights, rain guards for the windows (so you can have window open when driving), and everything else I can do to make people who don't own an F6 go FFS. Then drive around the country Anyone need a kidney? or half a lung?
  12. Maybe they should put the high powered motor into the car but leave it detuned to last years power output and include a flash tuner and a biiiiiiig warning expressly saying don't do it?
  13. This is the part that the switches for lights and indicators connect to? as I do have an issue with indicators cancelling earlier than they should but that seems to be the physical mechanism - while this parts off might as well sort out the other issues too. My horn was funny, it started to work when I held it down in anger but was like turning a volume knob up as the longer I held it got better and better until it started working perfectly (except for the dash lights coming up). before that it was intermittant it either worked or it didnt.
  14. Hahaha, that F6 is bloody beautiful. It'd look lovely in place of my car under the tree outside You wouldn't want somebody like me owning it after what I managed to make go wrong with my BA after 30,000kms driving in the past 6 months. I'd honestly be doing a real stretch to go that far, I'd have to borrow a significant chunk of the money :( although we only live once.......fark.
  15. Anyone looking to buy a BA turbo before I take it to the rubbish dump? haha kidding but seriously mad at all the problems that seem to be appearing everywhere. someone help me by telling me to buy an FG. maybe then I'll go buy one.
  16. well that was simple, I was about to pull the cluster out to see if there was a globe lying around. Already driving car like grandma lately but this sounds like my air bag won't work? it's just, I should get a photo when I remember as its not like the lights are fully on.
  17. I'm certain I've seen this car cruise past my house before haha. I quite like it actually. Honestly seemed like it was running rich as it had a slight backfire/pop from the exhaust, but I'm no mechanic.
  18. Don't worry masda74, I should be there to make sure everything that can go wrong, indeed will.
  19. I will have to wait till night time and drive somewhere to blow the horn for a picture but I'm pretty sure it is the ABS light and a ! light with a triangle around it that vaguely appear to come on or have some sort of light not quite in the socket I would describe, leak into those two. - The lights work as intended (any way to test all instrument cluster lights or do they all come on when key turned? I might consult the manual if there is anything it has to say on this). - Horn had issue where it was really intermittent and I checked connections at the front and they were fine, horn started working a few weeks ago and has worked perfect since. - Lights appear "red" in colour, but as I said as if there is a globe sitting behind it, no light leaks in from anywhere else only those two mentioned earlier. What the hell could be going on? Could I have issues with the wiring in/around my steering wheel/etc? It could explain an issue with the traction control light coming up possibly (even though mine is BA with no dsc I believe). I really feel like pulling the cluster out is a big job, I might look into this now. cheers
  20. I would love to be in on this, I only really want to do a fuel filter on mine (cant get bolts to move with my tools) then try to help others out where ever possible. Even then doesn't matter too much there is always a good yarn to be had...hopefully some people get stuff done at least haha!
  21. wait wait what is someone talking about when they say turbo housing is cracked if a certain bolt is loose? Are we talking about the bolts on the actual turbo itself holding compressor cover for exhaust/intake on? like all of mine are loose and one is hanging out....I do not have ANY idea how a mechanic can actually tighten these bolts it is just astonishing. Take it to most mechanics, and you might find like me that some just do not want to do this job for you and others are fine with it.
  22. Nah it's offtopic now. We can talk about bringing cars in for diff bushes under warranty though? like coming back 1-2 weeks after purchase with new rear tyres and a flogged bush. Just when you go in and say yeah its got a bad clunk in the drive line and laugh when they say its possibly the diff bush.
  23. This is the way I went mate, booked in for injectors and a tune and sh*t just started going wrong and I said f*ck it. I don't think I let on to Steve how much I appreciated the ride quality of his car versus mine, part of that is to do with the driver of course but I'm ideally going to clone his setup with suspension and bushings because I know it works.
  24. Take right foot off accelerator, common problem in a lot of peoples cars on fordxr6turbo forums ha. 400km of driving with not much more than 200rwkw at my disposal and tha'ts a ford rear diff bush. I'll be replacing mine with a super pro branded bush, adjusting driving style is probably why I havent killed my BA yet after 20,000 really really hard kilometers bringing it over 150,000 now (like multiple sets of tyres shredded up lots of donuts and yeah general boosting around heh).
  25. I took pliars to the small section of mine in my BA and ripped hard, that's the shielding around the front of the front of turbo and exhaust manifold bolts through it. I do not recommend this method, I just got so mad at it being right there but not being able to get it on. I always repeat to myself that they designed this to come apart and be serviced...so f*cking hell whats wrong hahahahahahhaaha.
