Just about any mechanic, it's a simple task, from memory around $200-400 gets one supplied and fitted????? Mechanics that service taxi's would do heaps of trans coolers id have thought. I'd highly recommend a service for the transmission too (new oil and filter), which will cost more money (cost me around $280 for my box to be serviced).

I planned on doing skids with this rim and another myself, it has a bulge in sidewall. It's a conti sportcontact 3 on there which just smell excellent when burnt. It's yours if ya want bro, I'm free all day today.

I heard the new F6 has a steering wheel, accelerator and brake! Three very important parts that Ford has decided to include at no extra cost.
-
For some reason the want is high for this: http://www.bartlettauto.com.au/web_ima/tuff_bullbars/ford_falcon_ba-bf_tuff_bullbar.jpg or http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/brisbane-region/other-parts-accessories/bns-tuff-country-5-post-ranga-bullbar/1028156954 Damn, these are actual bullbars and not just pissy little nudge bars, better spec than alot of 4bies. air bag compatibility is unknown lol. The actual need is low however. It's much nicer driving around in perth with a big bullbar. Wonder how it'd go with intercooler air flow (or lack thereof).

Fit trutrac diff for skids.

yeah how do we know the OP has solved his traction control problem? should post pics of skids. private property "of course".

I got a 17 inch steel wheel but the tyre shop couldn't balance the tyre on it (tyre is damaged - im assuming the wheel is okay). the tyre does hold air but has a bulge in sidewall - I'd throw it. what do you think the rims worth if you're interested?
-
Oh so traction control is being GAY and ruining the fun? Or in my case with BA making it dangerous on occasion by limiting engine power. and it won't turn off when you press the button? The switch is just a button, could that be stuffed? maybe overuse similar to how the print on mine is starting to disappear similar to the boot and fuel buttons I'd maybe go to a wrecker and ask if they could try another switch to see if it'll restore the fun button.

Blacklion Champoint BU66 235/45/17 $100-130. Treadware 300(I think), decent, hold stock power just fine in the dry, in the wet I'm gonna get hoonlawed even though the tread is legal, these are so hard to not spin. Kelly Charger GT 235/45/17 $100. Treadware 420, have on the front right now and every single corner feels like im taking it too quick compared to my old continental max contact mc5 tyres. Just terrible when passengers give last minute directions and I have to turn suddenly! Absolutely shocking in the wet these are I would ONLY put these on the rear and that's where they are going soon. These would be excellent burnout tyres but the rubber compound in more expensive tyres smells way better when burnt.

Does it have a noise when turn motor off?
-
I just love the smell of high quality tyres being burnt out. I used to work FIFO so hence I used to have the cash to do burnouts all the time. I really want a set of Nitto invos but I wouldn't be doing any burnouts with them at all! I was about to buy a set along with a bunch of other stuff but lost me job around that point :(

As car enthusiasts we must appreciate all makes. I am really stuck between either a F6 or a supercharged Expensive Daewoo V8. I want manual too but I'd pull skids all the time if I had a manual lol. Even the small superchargers on the VE's make them go really well! Saw a black FG the other day with two people in it looking like they were wearing work clothes (some sorta logo on their shirts) absolutely cane a FG turbo, feeling sorry for whoevers car it was as they were hitting limiter and all, it was extremely quick though. So idk if anyone's had work done on their car anywhere near melville yesterday as someone was really giving it hell lol.

Personally I don't see why we aren't given the option to have a laptop that loads the tunes onto the car. bring own laptop that's of reasonable spec to tuner, they install software on laptop and interface with car, and sell you the interface so you can load from some preset tunes. I appreciate the convenience of a little black box and intend to have a xcal3 at some stage but it'd surely be nice if you didnt have to spend $500-700 on this device.

Maybe get it serviced and get the turbo bolts torqued up if you feel it's underpowered.

If you want a huge difference look at a complete front end bushing replacement with super pro bushings (except for one that a few recommend putting a stock rubber bush back in). Make sure your ball joints are good and everything else (depending on age/driving conditions) and you'll have a car that handles pretty good and the next step would be suspension upgrades. Tyres make a huge difference as said above, I'd get good tyres but would watch out for things that cause uneven tyre wear if you've got problems. Don't get ripped off either, the pricks make a healthy profit on most tyres and I like to walk in with stuffed rears and ask for $100 235/45 17's and they choke but some shops do it. (they are still making money on that, but I dont expect my wheels to be cleaned afterwards haha).

Ba Xr6T Front Drivers Door Noise
skidxr6t replied to cmarico's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
Had a real close look at the seals? Does the door look shut and line up when you're looking from the outside? Could say mine are in excellent condition but when you run your finger on it you can tell it is just slightly compressed and "flat" in the middle I would describe, as if the rubber is much thinner due to wear but it still visibly looks fine. I've got a great way to fix almost any problem, it applies to at least the BA falcon, upgraded sound system recommended if excessive mechanical/wind noise leaks into cabin. Here is how to fix just about any problem you'll have with a falcon: Turn radio up. Drive. Still hear noise? Turn radio up some more and get an AUX input or CD cranking for better quality. *cannot guarantee radio will drown out the problem, generally when the problem noise gets louder than the radio(and turns into a vibration), I'm off to the mechanic. -
Awesome video cheers!

Gave/giving car a wash today so it's nice n shiny for the panel beater tomorrow (territory backed into me). Next weekend doing some maintenance: oil + filter coolant clean/inspect air filter (K&N) boost solenoid clean Somehow I keep missing the WA maintenance days as I hate doing oil on such a low car. Wish my car was in the 10's like the one above but frankly the stock power still scares the crap out of me but I'm defiantly getting very used to it.

Dying to watch this one. I even got out of bed earlier than normal! I swear last weeks episode was some sort of filler as not much happened compared to the one before last week if you ask me. Still good nonetheless. I'm gonna go wash my car or something. Maybe even clean the boost solenoid (replaced new ~10,000kms ago).

I'm just gonna suggest pulling the black pipe off that goes into the front of your turbo (loosening the screws first of course) and check if that turbo spins freely and isn't locked up. That's as much as I can guess. thread from 2006 lol.

How Much Power Were You Making When You Broke What?
skidxr6t replied to Chaos310's topic in General Car Talk
It's really all about how the cars driven, I've broken a few things under stock power. It's had a lot of front end work done recently but the rear end is juuuust about to be looked at and I'm suspecting it's alot more than just a diff bush as I looked at mine and it still looks quite new and tight (but I've heard they can look good but be f*cked?) If you guys think something is unbreakable in your turbo falcon, I suggest you let me have a drive, I'll either crash cause I still think stock power is pretty fast or break something. -
After my experience with my BA, unless this ones well looked after and has had money spent on it I'd walk away. Problems I had: brake shudder (fixed by replacing booster in my case). Rotors replaced three times in a year along with I forget how many pads, If it has shudder get it diagnosed correctly!! diff bush turbo bearing (noisy on shutdown) and shaft play if you can take the intake pipe off the front of the turbo to check id recommend it. ball joints (all of them) wheel bearings (front) alternator failed power steering pump (failure) boost solenoid needed replacing engine mount(s) are stuffed (I havent fixed this yet) auto trans still has lines going through radiator which gives me the chance of a milkshake when the auto trans fluid and coolant mixes (need a external trans cooler). heater core has been replaced, TWICE in my cars life, luckily not me that's done this, It was on ford's service record of my car. 4 spd or 5 spd manual is the other issue, Get a 6 speed auto or 6 speed manual (BA mk2 has 6 speed manual in some or all of them but I'd go BF to be safe). Has around 160,000kms on the odometer. At least one other problem I can list is it has an issue with rear tyre wear!

Brake booster rebuilt - no shudder at ALL and done about 5000km. Bloody beautiful, Apparantly not enough grease or something was used during assembly of earlier boosters. Brakes feel completely different now much more responsive. Just generally the booster wasn't faulty, but it was defiantly stuffed. My bushes are original and still okay. It'll be getting some harder super pros put in at some point but it doesn't seem to be needed. Car's done 160,000kms. I've seen the service record and brake shudder has been treated alot for my car over it's life :(

Yeah, the car drives really spot on lately for once so I'd love to. I'll post in the next cruise thread. I wish I coulda come to the cruise that met up at kardinya shops as I'm 5 minutes away from there. So nice having brakes that don't shudder anymore! Brake booster was the answer to all the problems.

Hell yeah! I gotta say though, I much preferred destroying good tyres such as conti sport contact 3's that I put on and only got a weeks driving out of (~1500km). Now I'm enjoying tyres from all sorts of brands I've never heard of. Only regret is not spending some of the thousands of dollars I've spent on tyres over this year on more maintenance/repair tasks as everything came up at once and really hit the wallet hard. I've still got more to fix as the focus has mainly been on the front end of the car! It's had like $4000 worth of non-performance modifcation related repairs in the past 4-5 weeks (BA falcon problems).
