  1. vdo were in my car and fine till they stuffed up similar to yours and I sold whole car anyway. ive heard of others running them. I still hear genuine are best
  2. go buy a vt wagon like me. then start saving and get another turbo like I plan to. sucks :(
  3. spotted an sv6 with a loud exhaust, being driven hard. didnt even try em in the car I bought to get around with now lol. need to get myself in another turbo asap. now I know why I used to get crap fuel economy edit: wish I had internet as fast as above! I used to get 13mbit but the line turned to crap and now we only get 8mbit. (no limit though).
  4. a full tank of fresh 98 octane from a busy servo.
  5. Maybe yours has had a frontal impact on that side of the car similar to what my old one used to, only explanation as to why mine was tucked back.
  6. -1998 ford courier ute -1999 (or round that year) Expensive Daewoo rodeo ute - 2001 ford KA (the first car I drove by myself when I first got license!) - 2004 ford ba xr6 turbo (I lost THOUSANDS of dollars this was the biggest piece of crap). - 1998 vt berlina It's so gay, I can no longer "deal" with assholes on the road in such a slow car, I don't know how anyone can survive. I don't know how anyone can own a xr6 turbo and use a slower car daily. YOU ARE INSANE. My next car is going to be a turbo falcon, I love the look of the B series better than the FG but think newer is better with how I treat cars.
  7. I'm talking about the boost solenoid which has two rubber vacuum lines attached to it and a electrical connector going to the ECU. I had those two codes eliminated by plugging the solenoid in that some noob had forgot to do - and like 5 mechanics did not find. One day I was changing my passenger side headlight globes and found two cables tucked back and unplugged.
  8. Is the boost solenoid plugged in (I think the one u said near battery)? Near the air box and ECU, look for the connection, it might be tucked back and hidden like mine was. I had those two exact codes rectified by plugging it in And it would make more than 4psi of boost. Otherwise an earthing problem?
  9. I want a g6et for 17k. That someone probably thinks is stuffed cause of a loose hose. old thread but dang, supply n demand sometimes ehh.
  10. xr6t sold yay. and yeah there are serious problems with it, im just no mechanic to know what is seriously wrong. A dealer bought it then the back door suddenly wouldnt shut right as he was about to drive away hahaha. the diff is f*cked, the 4spd tranny slips, the coils are f*cked, the tyres are f*cked, rego due, insurance due, needs new turbo, the list goes on and on and on and on.
  11. someone plz buy it k http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/melville/cars-vans-utes/2004-ford-falcon-xr6-turbo/1034533798
  12. sweet as gonna do this all tomorrow. should post up how im going to repair it without using a new cog :O (kidding...I need to find a way to make back door lock...then find a cog replacement).
  13. I wouldn't mind having a different nut (spline drive or something its called is it?!?) but screw lock nuts. It must happen more than I thought with people getting wheels pinched then??
  14. What's the go if you get one how long do you have before you gotta get it inspected? Does the cop decide?
  15. My understanding is if you get bad fuel you simply go back to that servo and they do tests and all? This is why I ALWAYS get fuel receipts and stress the importance of this to everybody.
  16. so close by I might make an appearance.
  17. it is easier to just park up where phil said and just walk across the road. about 4-5 cars can fit round back of capn munchies though.
  18. this why I need lift kit on my falcon to get up the kerbs that are the barrier to carparks like this when they put the bollards up lol.
  19. turbo still works. wouldn't any sorta balance issue have the thing self destructing like as soon as you come on boost??
  20. New noises excite me! parked on a hill at a mates, I engage reverse and lately as I take my foot off the brake and give it a little throttle to move back it makes this snap sorta sound...(the diff bush has its own clunk which is in addition to this sound). It's like in that time as the gear engages sorta. It also happened while I was on a private property with a road in the wet and had the rear of the car snaking from side to side...as it was going side to side it was like bang, bang bang bang bang f*cking bang somethings f*cked, the EXACT sound it makes in the first scenerio. reckon it's a straight to the mechanic job? was sorta hoping to not spend a cent on it as it's not gonna increase the trade in value when I trade it in soon. I never thrash it or anything so I would not have any idea what could be wrong?!?!!??! could this be rear wheel bearings?
  21. I've been too scared to play with my BA's premium sound system, but I turned a FG g6et's sound system up and was less than impressed.... I was told it was hard to get good bass in the falcons and a custom sub box was required over anything off the shelf. Pulled out of the deal on the fg, so back to looking, it has to be perfect, lower kms. Still want a G6Et though.
  22. 160,000 ish maybe like 170 now. it's been flogged to hell for a long time so wouldnt be surprised if valve springs were needed. it's got rough idle that's getting worse, im trying to get myself in a FG and get rid of this car haha!
  23. Today I read this thread, put foot to floor in BA, came on boost nicely, then real rough idle when I stopped. all on private property of course, would never drive like that on a public road.
  24. gutting a cat would be bad? it'd make a bloody mess......
  25. Well the thing is, I happen to have run into some money but after buying full comprehensive for a year I'll only have about 2-3 grand that I can comfortably spend on it. Glad im choosing this route over fixing the BA up. It'll be going in to XFT or monsta torque (undecided) for some work, maybe starting with a ZF service and finishing with a tune + injectors.
