  1. will the transmission (4spd) handle extra power?
  2. "The body has 150,000 ks but that means nothing now." ........"The only catches are that the coil overs make a bit of creeking noise which can be all fixed up with some new bushes etc," http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/perth-cbd/cars-vans-utes/510hp-bf-series2-xr6-turbo-manual-29-000ks/1106201698 He'd need to adjust the price and stop calling it a BF hahaha... I wonder if these dark argents he is selling with bad tyres were fitted to the car he is now selling http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/perth-cbd/wheels-tyres-rims/2x-fpv-20-dark-argent-wheels-ba-bf-fg-xr6-xr8/1105922707 The more I look the more I want to save and get something brand new :( In regards to tyres, I still wonder why nobody has tried out the continentals, some people have complained about weaker sidewalls (I never had an issue) but my favorites were the conti sport contact 3 on my old mercury ba turbo. I may or may not have mentioned that I spotted it cruising along a few weeks ago with brembo brakes on 18s or 19s which was kinda nice......It does makes me wonder where the owners priorities are because they neglected to fix the $2600 worth of panel damage I caused to the car and have caused more damage to the other side.
  3. 325kw turbo barra 6 makes up for it
  4. simply take motor out and replace it with xr6 turbo engine and ecu etc and make a lovely build thread out of it.
  5. http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/licensing/auxiliary-plates.asp what about this phil? I reckon most cops will turn a blind eye though, but believe it is at their discretion.
  6. he's probably already got it booked in somewhere for a few mods The VF is very nice though.
  7. Oh no officer, this isn't illegal, they are just parking sensors that utilize the exact same laser wavelength and pulse rate as speed enforcement devices do. They're so good when they notice your laser, they determine exactly what to fire back...... As long as you slam on the brakes and turn the thing off quick as possible you won't get caught I spose. You want one where the manufacturer delivers regular software updates Phil that is a great idea but I believe a cop has discretion as to what constitutes an obscured number plate ('so that the characters thereon are clearly visible and legible by day and by night') One thing straight off the bat is the numberplate and headlights reflect the laser that the cops shine at your car really well and I know that the plates have some 3M coating which aids significantly in this reflectivity. When you shine a laser at a numberplate it bounces back really strongly, you ideally want to reduce this.
  8. tyres sure are noisy when you constantly perform burnouts ^
  9. Do you know how to lookup the build date for your tyres? I am curious if you were sold old rubber.
  10. tinted lights look nice but will get a yellow sticker if you ask me. You'd get away with slightly darker but you'd wana be careful on that one.
  11. haha, when I was FIFO I thought the money was pretty fair for a 70-84 hour week for a few weeks at a time away from family and friends.
  12. alright look it might be costly but the only solution to this is to fit a turbo to the engine. I'd just goto a wrecker and buy new lines if you cant find whats going on?
  13. 8500 or so if its in good condition. check out the redbook pricing, have noticed it's pretty spot on for the B series falcons sometimes.
  14. When it makes that 'brrr' sound does it perform like normal when you take foot off throttle and then floor it? what happens if you put it in a higher gear and accelerate, does it do that?
  15. you need to smoke a dooby while the things in the tune shop before going back to collect it.
  16. I hope you intend to verify the validity of their speed measuring equipment and at the very least spend a little time with a lawyer to see if there is a way out of this. Last year I was in a MATES bog standard ECOTEC V6 I got pinged doing 130 inan 80 by a hidden speed trap, 1 month impound ($1100), $1500 fine, 6 months off the road (had all 12 points too). I didn't get a single fine/ticket in my BA turbo, got pulled up for doing 120 in a 60 but the cop didnt have his radar turned on and I luckily noticed him so was able to sit on the speed limit for a few k's before he pulled me over.
  17. cheeky removing the turbo badge like that! I did that to my BA turbo just leaving XR6. but don't worry, we all know the G6E with a spoiler is likely to be turbo nice wheels mate, I'd have one just like this if the funds allowed!
  18. Interesting you mention this - I found there are companies that will front you a hire car in the event of a not at fault accident. They deal with the person at fault/their insurer. Even if you're legally entitled to one, in a case where my old BA got reversed into, I would have had to fork out a heap of money (cause of my age at the time) and ended up without a car for two weeks, wishing I knew about those hire car companies. You're entitled to the car, as long as you pay for it all then they determine if it's 'reasonable'.
  19. Ahahha I love how they always say "nothing wrong with this car".
  20. I went and looked at both today: Silver car has had full respray (really bad job), has f*cked turbo, f*cked powersteering pump and leaky line, bootrust on one side (other side looks repaired), the ZF takes longer to engage R and D than it should. I turned down a test drive. The purple one was far neater but it has obviously also been pranged, it also benefits from a f*cked turbo, f*cked powersteering pump (but no leaky line I could see) and not a trace of boot rust. Told I would have to buy the vehicle to test drive it! Neither had complete service histories, both had stuffed rear diff support bushings.
  21. My shortlist so far. theres a black one with lower KS but don't like black. Don't like the sideskirts on the lightning strike one here too. http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/Ford-Falcon-2006/OAG-AD-12294797/?Cr=5 http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/Ford-Falcon-2008/OAG-AD-12216558/?Cr=1 I'd have thought these would have sold quicker.
  22. anyone selling bf turbo sedan which isnt f*cked, around mid feb, for cheap? looking at a few, under 12k with 120,000 on the clock or so advertised. I've obviously forgotten how much fuel my old xr6t used, but the bf is slightly more economical right?
