    Help help

Remove turbo badge as said, make sure intercooler is painted black and drive it slowly. Then have a prang and find your insurance company saying "I'm outa here m8" (hopefully doesn't happen). Oh and get it registered under mums name if you going to drive it around. I sure remember how I drove my BA on p plates, hopefully you don't plan on coming home on a new set of rear tyres every few days haha
  2. I second everyone else saying to get hard wiring. Make sure it's cat6 with good quality outlets on both ends, I use krone (te connectivity) brand outlets and they cost me $65 for 10 (wallplate jacks)!
  3. I think you're going to have to just let it all go and stick it to whoever is screwing with you by getting your car working sweet and taking plenty of photos and maybe a run at the drags.
  4. that poor car
  5. Why do you speak so negatively about this? the car that is engineered will pass the pits fast, it doesn't have to be re-engineered as far as I know. If I had engineering certs for a fully road legal car and was getting a yellow sticker I'd enjoy asking the copper if they got bullied at school. cop probably knows car has hi flow car re fitted if they know about these cars haha.
  6. yeah I know, effing electricians and their dodgy jobs. phones were noisy from day one according to someone on one of the floors.
  7. that's very annoying mate, I hope it doesn't cost too much for you to get the thing all good at CMS!
  8. haha well you probably paid less money, I had to pay about $1300 for the parts including the output flange from transmission so damn right they paint it hahha. Ray, maybe take your car to a tailshaft shop/another mechanic and have them check it out for ya mate.
  9. hopefully hes gona keep his ba instead of selling it and come for a cruise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I shoulda taken a photo of my tailshaft as it was all nicely spraypainted black when I had it on the hoist Was it a shop that did yours Steve or did ya do it yourself? On the topic of diff whine, I get a slight whining noise only on hard acceleration that I put down to the nolathane diff bushes the car is running.
  11. Hopefully this doesn't delay things much for you mate and did you expect your pallet to be kept inside haha? What was the reason for the delay for the box again? I cant be bothered reading back but I hope everything goes smoothly from now!!
  12. I like this idea, much cheaper than paying somebody to do it all for you. hope it goes well and no pressure, but don't f*ck it up. k31th, surely you can't let him get away with spelling adminihamster wrong?
  13. possible suggestions as I don't know what you mean by 'the basics' -car audio stuff -spares - fuses/globes/wiper blades/etc -fire extinguisher for your car (or if another car catches fire) -car wash/polish/detailing stuff (claybar kit etc)
  14. But surely the tuner would tell somebody that their motors probably going to go bang, given that it's not 'habibs tunes and kebabs' written on the dyno sheet.
  15. TANK RUST? far out I've never had so much trouble until I came across this R1 tank! bike had been sitting for a few years but still. -started off using a kit where you clean the tank out, shake nuts and bolts around then put this sealant stuff in. fail after a week. -took it to professional who welded it all up on the cheap. fail straight away, lucky tank wasnt full. -took it back to professional who pressure tested it and found heaps of holes now it's all fixed. the reason I say it was so much trouble is draining the tank takes ages. your bike looks sick mate, something about a bike with no fairings on that gets me all revved up

I believe I had a cracked exhaust housing on my BA. I reckon it was cause I'd rip skids and sh*t as a stupid P plater then stop the engine moments later so the thing really didn't get a chance to warm up and cool down. I remember how well it ran after I had XFT tighten all of the bolts....by the time I got home it ran like a dog again. Yeah I did tighten the bolts immediately before selling it but a car dealer bought it so f*ck him. On my BF I was missing a stud and nut to the dump pipe which the mechanic replaced and everything is holding up leak free for about 1000ks so far. Definitely start with the plugs but maybe if it still isn't perfect you could do the boost solenoid maintenance (search it on this forum), then if it's still not right I'd pull the turbo heat shields off and check the bolts. I had my mechanic check the turbo bolts for me when I got my BF because I'm lazy but in future I'll do it myself.
  17. I thought the BA with weaker rods would go bang at this power level, maybe the motor was replaced before you got the car? car looks nice too, I'd like to do the throttle body relocation on mine.
  18. I went for a cruise to maccas tonight.
  19. Ive got mine on the lawn for a wash so if I can be bothered we should do it. specially south of the riverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  20. lol @ 54 tb htpc, my pc is turbocharged, motherf*cker! beat that!
  21. I miss my old X58 i7 rig! I spent $5000 in late 2008 on it and it failed in 2014. I run a i5 4690k @ 4.4ghz on water now. Doesn't even have 8 threads like the i7 did! My first SSD was $300 for 64gb and I never looked back. I now run entirely on SSDs with a 4tb NAS for long term storage. Nice gear stripes, I swear you been sounding more positive since you've been given the space to set it all up.
  22. ahhh, gotta love running out of money. If you check my thread out, I've been opting for secondhand parts alot lately hahah! You could look for a secondhand turbo and at fitting it up yourself if you are keen. Of course this could be risky.
  23. I think it depends on what is f*cked, new core can set you back a grand, installation easily $3-500. I was quoted by race equipped guy here 600-800 or so if I recall right to rebuild a turbo so with installation ontop of it it's kinda expensive.
  24. I dont even know if I'd be running the car if that noise is coming from the turbo. I had a bad alternator bearing that made a hell of a grinding noise almost like that in my BA though. you flicked the motor off in the video and the noise continued right? cause the pulleys dont keep spinning when engines off but turbo does
  25. The only difference compared to a few years ago is everyone I know has to apply for 50 fifo jobs to get a single interview. I think ralphy is in love with planes. He even works near the airport IIRC? mmmm that generator though...
