  1. how you got any thing as im doing it on thursday if not ill get the msd one cheeres dario

  2. The shift alert module gets power and ground from the fuse compartment, and one wire gets spliced into the harness at the ecu. Minimum install is 3 wires. You can add any light to our module as a shift light providing it draws less than 10 watts ( 1 amp) therefore you can use a high intensity LED (with suitable dropping resistor in line) possibly mounted in the pillar.
  3. Pre-orders are being taken on our website for the Shift Alert units,, pricing is on there also.
  4. Brett, Yes, the shift alert module is fairly easy to install. The minimum install is 3 wires, one to the ecu and two to the fuse compartment. Complete instructions are supplied as well as more detailed instructions online.

  7. Those pics would look awesome blockmounted!
  8. Got it from my mate that works in spare parts at a ford dealership in Perth.
  9. Unfortunately the BA ecu does not have a tacho output, so you wont be able to connect an aftermarket tacho / shift light directly. We will be releasing our Shift Alert modules in the next neek, which is a small module that gives alert beeps similar to the ones emitted from the FPV cluster, as well as two outputs, one is a shift light output, which you can connect to any 12 volt light, and the other is an aux output which you can use to trigger anything you like, based on RPM. Both outputs (shift beep and light is one output, the aux is the 2nd) can be triggered at user definable RPM - the unit can be programmed by laptop.
  10. Heres a couple pics of mine... (mrs wont let me lower it, apparently its meant to be a family car )
  11. The BA's have fuel and spark cut when decelerating, so it will show lean when you back off.
  12. I know MSD have a tach driver, and I *think* the F.R. one operates the same... They aplify the small pulses on the coil + wire that are generated each time the coils are fired. The ECU on the BA's controls everything, theres no ignitor modules etc for the coils. We are working on a tach adapter as well as a shift light / beep module for the BA's The shift light / beep module will be available very soon, which will be a fully programmable shift light / beep and also has one additional adjustable output. These modules can be programmed by laptop, therefore if you want to change the trigger points, you can. The tach adapter we are designing, well im not going to tell you how it works in detail, but lets just say different to the MSD / F.R. ones, and possibly a lot more accurate as they are triggered by a sensor, not by detecting voltages.
  13. Yes, the beeps will sound close to the FPV ones. The units will be fully programmable, so using a laptop you will be able to set the beep / shift light trigger rpm.
  14. Have a look at this thread: http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=19899
  15. We (shiftkits.com.au) are currently developing a few items to suit the BA. One is a tacho / shift light interface, which will allow you to connect an aftermarket tacho or shiftlight to the BA ECU, and the other is a Shiftlight / Beeper module which will give you a beep and optional shiftlight output at a certain RPM. Stay tuned for progress updates
