  1. Maybe true but I like to match $ for $. Those GTR's arnt the same price of a stock T, there almost double. Now If I were buy a T for $40000 and even spend $40000 on it (80K in total) it would kill the GTR. Its the same as buying a VL turbo for 10K spending 30K on it to match the price of a new Stock T, the vl would kill the T. But you have to agree all aussie performance cars are bargains and have enormous performance potential, so up the T....
  2. Im pretty happy with my ute, only probs was a leak in the throttle body which caused a rough idle, and a few rattles in the interior. But nothing major and I keep reminding myself its not new any more nearly 2 years old and I couldnt be happier. I will purchase another ford (8 or 6T yet to be determined) in due time and I couldnt go jap or european, I have a thing of beating euro cars on the streets and on GT4. I will buy Expensive Daewoo before euro. I cant see the value especially in a BMW M3 which my GF's neighbour has. Its brand new and nice but it goes ok and I just cant see the $$$$ in it. I would have more fun in a Clubby 6L then a M3. But that's just me I guess always going for the under dogs.

  4. Im planning on removing dash parts on the weekend to find these bastards, I will not let them win. I know music drowns the rattles but I ocassionally like no music so I can hear the turbo but then......rattles.....If I can find them I will post pics of whats rattling. Thanks guys its good to know Im not alone with this
  5. All valid points, even if the MkIII stays they would have to up it in the all new falcon if it has a T in the range. Its evident the T can handle a slight power increase with the F6 at 270kw. Even at 245-250kw mark with an all new gearbox and as time goes by improvements will come. But we cant stay at 240kw not if the ss is to get more go..
  6. Driving today got me thinking what the next turbo will have (apart from the 6 speed auto) in terms of power figures. Im leaning towards possibly 250kw or maybe im dreaming but 260kw in which case the XR8 would possibly move to 270kw-280kw. I think if ford keeps it at 240kw its going to start getting too boring and left behind from the red camp. We need a power change and soon.....what do you all think???
  7. Hey all There are things my ute does that's pissing me off, im sick to death of the annoying rattles from the glovebox, dash and somewhere near where the airbag should sit. Now theres one on my door and one I cannot locate. Is this just a ute thing as I have been in many sedans and its been nice and quiet. But these rattles are becoming soo loud I can hear them above loud music and when someones in my ute its the first thing they pick up on. I have pulled half the interior apart and cannot fix them. I know a new glove box may need to be installed to fix those rattles as the one now is sooo loose unless I can tighten it??? any other ute drivers have these rattles. Im not even going to start on the exterior rattles..........

    Diff Stuffed

    mmm not sure about mine ocasionally I hear a humming from the rear and a clunking when statuionary but not sure what this is, it could be the diff but just not sure. I want to pin point this before going back to ford. But she still does very nice drifts so im still grinning
  9. I found a genuine ford hardcover in my colour (black of course ) in sydney for $950 off ebay with gas struts, locks etc. I installed it myself and its perfect. No warp and its nice and straight...Only thing wrong was it has a few scratches on the front side which I buffed and brushed touched, now it looks brand new...cant complain for $950

  14. Its very odd, I have a whistle noise when idling and when I turn the lights on it gets louder, is this normal??? if not do you guys have any idea what it is?

  16. Congrats mate We need pics, what options have you got??? and is there a chance of upgrades in the not too distant future. With driving it do you think the MK2 is slower or is it just media hype crap again???

Its very painful, I have a ding on one side, a dint in my roof after some little sh!ts decided to throw rocks at my ute and theres the accident when a 4wd with a winch decided to run into my tail gate which was fixed under insurance but its noticable to a panel beater with a slight difference in paint colour. But I must admit you do become numb to chips and small dents.e
  18. Hi Jon I personally would not install one unless you exceeded the standard BOV level (which Im told is 12psi). Theres the whole warranty question which I suppose depends on the dealer and the standard BOV works quite effectively by directing the pressurised air back into the intake instead of the atmosphere. I think your $$$$ are better spent on air-intake mods or going towards an edit. Just my 2cents worth...There are plenty of threads on BOV's though Cheers Shane
  19. Hi It could be the hoses as suggested, I usually check and tighten every saturday. Also the engine could of been running warm especially in traffic which has quite a large impact on the turbo. Or you may just be getting used to the power which means time for a mod or two...

  21. I paid 37k drive away with leather, prestige, tints and scuffs. But that was on a dealership sale day I think the resale values of T uts in Sydney are pretty high, im guessing theres demand. The resale of XR8 utes are much lower and XR6's NA are in the 25k mark now, theres just tooo many.

  23. I finally picked up the hardcover on Saturday and spent yesterday installing it. Its quite easy to do, only took a couple of hours (I wanted to take my time)...It sits very nicely

    on my AU2 XR6 I had the SP3000's put on and the dunlop center told me 40psi all round which I checked weekly and I got 30000kms out of them no probs...On my BA there not lasting as long due to power and WEIGHT.
