I have a question for all you experienced cruisers. I have never met any of you in person before and I cant wait to either. But how will I know whos who and do you call each other by forum name or first name??? Im just curious...
Considering I am a local Hawkesbury T driver myself and my girlfriend will be there for sure. This will be my first xr6t forum cruise so I cannot wait.
Or alternatively go to a Ford dealer. I will start doing some mods to my car through my dealer knowing that I will have full warranty on my vehice. Sure it will cost me a little more but then again I will have piece of mind driving. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mate I agree, I was speaking to my dealer on Saturday and they do know its flashed...But he also said if I flash he will not put me on "the list". he stated he wants to know whats done so he can help me with my mods and ensure that everything will be able to handle a greater power load. I understand that if I edit I lose warranty on engine components, turbo etc but not the whole vehicle. It was good to hear that some ford dealers want you to enjoy your ride with your own mods.
I think a T is not for you then...if your main concern is the $$$ of petrol and if its really burns a hole in pocket. By the looks of it petrol wont drop and just keeps going up and up. Maybe a more economical vehicle. Although it would be hard to not drive a T.
Hi all I want to paint my brakes that nice deep blue like on the FPV's. Is this hard to do and what paint do I use???? Has anyone here done this before???
Hi all I read a post on LS1 forums re bad build qaulity and one guys solution which I think we should support http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php...09&page=1&pp=15 It cant hurt and we have nothing to lose, the more that do this the better it will be.
The way I afford mine is through my work and apart of my salary package. I have a hire purchase in my name which work pays for in my car allowence because I use my ute for work (I picked a ute for tax reasons AND they hold their value alot better than sedans). It was either that or work pay me $0.62 per km and im doing neally 600km for work a week ($372). so $150 per week is alot cheaper than $372 per week for work. But I also get a fuel card and e-tag. Im only paying for my insurance / rego / and maintenance. So the T is easily affordable if you do it right. I see alot of P platers driving new SS utes also, their in the same boat as us. Little do they know the T rips them until they line up...
Hi all Driving on the M2 on saturday it was damp and I was going through the e-tag gate and you have to go throught at 40km/h. I was in manual mode in 4th and forgot. So I slowed down to 40km and it stayed in 4th. As I went through and accelerated I remembered I was in 4th and as I looked down at the dash I saw the 4 turn into a D then as it does it went to second on a smooth damp freeway. The ute was sideways. it scared the out of me. I thought it didnt do that but it must. I find that very unsafe, but fun.....
It does not apply to current P platers driving these cars. It only applies to P platers from july 11th. But if a current p plater loses their lisence then the new laws apply. Current P platers lawfully purchased their cars and are lawfully allowed to drive it. If not who will pay out all the loans etc, too much hassle.
Well done mate, you stated earlier you drove a VXSS for a few years, how do you compare them??? My GF's parents own a VXSS and are looking to upgrade and their looking at Expensive Daewoo again but once they drove the ute their having blue oval thoughts in their head. They love the feel of the turbo better then V8. Im talking them into the Phoon. Just need your views....
I guess if you want a demo just buy the phoon on GT4 and add the 6 speed and select auto mode, then put those ratios in and adjust the power accordingly to the T and we may have a slight Idea how it will run, maybe. Speaking of which I have my Phoon doing low 10's 0-400 on GT4 and cant crack a 9 second. Is this possible....and when dragging it loses boost as it revs up. WTF??? But back to the point the fords desperatly need a six speed auto as the 4 speed is long over due.....so bring it on. Maybe a stupid question but do you think they will have the same setup with the tiptronic?? I hope they DONT do the same as the SV6 and those stupid wheel padels.
I think the best way would be to get the boot mechanism from the sedan with the button in the cabin and a button on your key ring and have it functioning the same. So you can unlock it from inside or from your key ring. I guess you would have arms from the mechanism to move away from the brackets when activated. Or you could possibly run it like a car boot and modify the latch to sit on the tail gate and the lock on the hardcover so it works just like a car boot and no more sh*tty brackets. But then the latch may affect loading the tray, but who cares if you have a hardcover you wouldnt load much anyways...I might look into this abit more.....
This post is becoming interesting, but as I said before I compare $ for $. If a GT-R is $100000 then I only think its fair to buy a T for $45000 and spend $55000 on it, then see how they go. But in terms of stock vs stock there is no comparison...we spend $40000-$50000 on our T's. I believe those GT-Rs are in the $100000 mark.
Well I have narrowed a few rattles down to the glove box which is loose around the hinges and dosnt sit flush. Over crapy surfaces this rattles badly, ford can fix this hopefully. Another is my seatbelt is rubbing against the seat adjustment on the side which I can live with. But theres still one near the airbag and behind the dash which only start at 60km+ and are on and off. As god is my wittness I will get them...
true but I havnt seen a stock XR6T beat a Stock LS1 so I woulnt even bring the 6lt HSV donk into it just yet. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mate....I have pulled from plenty of stock LS1's even the earlier HSV range. You just gotta know how to drive them
You know its odd, I didnt like the citric acid when it first appeared but then it really grew on me same as the orange. I wouldnt call this gay (incase someone on here likes it and wants it) but its a very happy colour .....I wonder how long before the first member on here buys one....
