    Most Povo Xr6t?

I'm on my second XR6T and actually went backwards in terms of options. Last T was 2003 auto, leather, ICC. To be honest was over all the options very quickly. Got sick of the leather, didn't notice the ICC after a while and the auto was sh*tting me. Now drive a 2005 XR6T with standard manual, standard interior, only option is 18 inch wheels. Couldn't be happier as I prefer the cloth interior, I use my ipod for music so couldn't care for a six stacker etc and loving the manual. Don't worry, as long as your enjoying it.
  2. No probs Superdan, when I get home tonight I will post pics and info.
  3. Well after the ringing around I picked up the part today which is completely different to the one I broke. It is the correct part but it appears to have been upgraded somewhere along the line. Its a lot better and stronger and the pipe slides straight in and locks into place, easy. The guy from Ford had no idea what its called either, he called it a valve for "something"...mmmmm. But fix one thing and another breaks...my RH fog light got cracked today, luckily I have a replacement on hand. Very annoying though...
  4. Ahh, thanks Phantmxr6...so its a breather. It should be easier now to explain to Ford. What is its purpose?
  5. great, thanks guys. I just taped it up then and will try to get the parts tomorrow. Bloody cheap flimsy part though. It snapped so easily. Oh well, lesson learned. Cheers
  6. Hi All, I was cleaning my throttle body yesterday and whilst re-connecting my PCV Pipe into the crossover manifold the screw thread snapped off the hose. Now I cannot connect the PCV Pipe to the manifold. If I drive the car with no PCV pipe, will it cause any damage? Also what is the function of a PCV pipe and roughly how much will a replacement cost from Ford? Thanks for the advice and help! Cheers
  7. Yes mate, The clunking is normal, mine does it also. But your habits will change and it will minimize once your used to it. You will not notice after a while anyways. A great gearbox though, you shouldn't have any issues with the it at all. What I love about the manual is when your giving the car hell the whole gear box just comes together and feels tighter and runs very smoothly. But putting around will result in clunks. However, I would prefer to have clunks when putting around than a sh*t smoother gearbox.
  8. I have run a 350Z on the F3 in Sydney, with rolling starts at around 80kmh I started gaining on him quite easily. Although I had zero lag as I kept the turbo spooling until we punched it. Given I have a manual I think he would get me off the line quite easily. But the T would start to claw back quickly at speed. Quite impressed with the 350z, moves quite well.
  9. I purchased a BA MkII back in Aug-08 for $22k, 35000kms, 6 speed and factory 18's. Great car but yes noisy suspension, gear box and sh*t brakes. Apart from that I have done nearly 15000kms and a great car. Feels much better than my BA1.
  10. Micksta, very intersted, perfect colour, just what I wanted. I will let you know more info shortly.

    Top Gear

I went today and it was ok...a bit dissapointed that there was no Falcon or FPV, only v8 Ford ute. I would love to see the lads test drive the FPV range. One hilarious part was when we were ranking the cars the black sexy lambo came out and Clarkson asked some guy what he thought and the idiot said he would have a "Late model camira R8" over the lambo, Clarkson laughed and said the lambo would weigh less that a Commodores boot. Good to see the guys live though...
  12. Thanks for the replies, I would definitly consider BF's also, or even a mix. The colours are also just what im after, I will let you know. Cheers Shane
  13. IB, your on the right track, I think most dealerships are concerned with people taking their cars elsewhere to get serviced as people are watching more what they spend and sick of bad service. So, if they look after customers with warranty and exceed their expectations they will leave happy and consider taking their car back for service. I think most dealerships lack in this area which pushes people away, and also they appear to be strongly against modifying. I have only come across 1 dealer who was more than happy to assist with modifications and wanted to assist in areas to ensure minimal destruction to the car.
  14. I took it to my local, Winford Motors in Nth West Sydney (McGraths Hill), they have always looked after me there, but was very impressed today, would recommend them. Speak to Steve in service, he is good. I know what you mean about service $$$$$.
  15. Count me in!!! Haven't been on a cruise in ages
  16. Hey, I am getting married in a little over 12 months (I know seems far away) and WANT FG FPV's for my wedding cars (4 in total). Just seeing if anyone here would be interested. You will be paid for your time and also fuel usage. If your keen please let me know and I would love to catch up to discuss the details. The wedding will be on a Saturday and cars will be needed between 2pm and 5pm. The wedding will be on March 6 2010. Look forward to the feedback Cheers Shane
  17. Just thought I would share my great warranty service today. Dropped the XR6T in to get the sway bar fixed from rattling and picked up the car with the following fixed: - Sway bar links replaced, no more rattles - Rear suspension checked and tightened up, no longer rattling - Repositioned and tightened exhaust shield after rattle was detected, now fixed - Changed rearview mirror after rattle detected, also fixed - Machined brakes after shudder detected Got to say very happy and the drive home was amazing, no noises at all. Have all new love for the car again. Now just need to wash the car and will be very happy, but given the 40+ degree days approaching might hold off... I honestly was not expecting all the above to be fixed, but dealer was more than happy to fix the car for me. I was expecting rattles driving home and struggled to find any, very happy, I know its rare.
  18. Thanks for the ideas, but its starts normal and then idles for several minutes, then off. I am definitely taking to Fraud though as the issue may start to get worse.
  19. Hey all, I tried a search but couldn't locate anything specific to my problem. In the mornings my XR6T keeps turning off whilst warming up. No warning lights come on the dash, no beeps, it just stops running...Its happened twice now and I have no idea what could be causing it I.e. fuel or sensor etc. When driving at norm temp its perfect with no stalling but can occasionally idle rough. My car is a BA MkII 6 speed manual. Has anyone else had this problem? I would like to get an idea of what it could be before going to Ford. I still have warranty until April 09. Apart from that still loving the T. Thanks for the help...
  20. Mate go BA MkII. I just purchased a BA MkII 6sp Man Sedan for $22000, 35000kms, 8 mths rego and warranty. The best purchase ever, the car runs beautifully. However if you find a good BF for a great price than I recommend the BF over the BA.
  21. Hi all, After selling my 03 BA XR6T Ute a couple of years ago due to company car (ford LPG ute) I have finally got a car allowance and now purchased another Turbo. As much as I love the new FG I had to resort to common territory and purchased a BA Mk2 XR6 Turbo but for a very good price and low kms. I was looking at Bf's but the price, kms and condition sold me. Its a great step going from ute to sedan, and Mk1 to Mk2. The car drives very well, and loving the manual. My only annoyances which are always found after purchasing the car are the following: - A bit of clunking when changing gears or coasting on and off throttle....I hear its normal though....is it? - Bloody rear view mirror rattle on rough roads........how to stop this? Never had this issue in a Ford before - Little knocks under the car on bumpy surfaces, only occasionally. Apart from that the car is a dream. I hope to get back into some cruising again or even some track days. Its good to be back... Cheers Shane
  22. I can't see Ford producing a ute like that ugly red thing!!! I remember reading a ute mag earlier last year and Ford was asked if IRS will be in the BF Mk2 and they ruled it out due to the cost of implementing a production change so late in the build but said a IRS system for the Orion performance ute variants was NOT out of the question. As we can see from the Car Advice website the leaf spring will be in the tonner vehicles again. Ford like Expensive Daewoo have a really tough challenge with their utes as more buyers are turning to the diesel japanese models as they are larger and cheaper to run.

    Xr6 Na E Gas

Hey, My company car is a BA Mk2 E-Gas tonner which currently has 140,000kms on the clock. I drive the thing HARD and as a result it drives quite well. It pulls from 3.8l commy 6's and keeps up with the new alloytech commys. I don't know why but the company ute drives much better than other e-gas falcons I have driven. It has been very reliable even though I try breaking the thing it still runs. I am sure one day it will give and die...
  24. Hey mate, I was your age when I bought the Turbo Ute 2 years ago and was very nervous with my first loan etc but after 2 years I have never looked back and I still have a huge grin everytime I drive it. I cant picture myself driving any other vehicle.
  25. Hi All, I was on the FPR / FPV tour recently and there was a black terry parked with a bonnet scoop. Myself and a mate ran over quickly and inspected. It had the dual exhaust and a whole bunch of cables running out of the tissue box holder. Funny thing is it was in XT guise so was a standard interior and exterior which makes me think it was just a mule for engine testing. The tour guide wasnt impressed with us running off. As we were leaving the mule terry T drove past us to one of the sheds and the turbo sound was quite noticable.... Sorry no pics as cameras were not allowed... Cheers
