    Brake Hubs

Hey all, After putting new rims on the T they are more revealing than the factory 18's and you see more of the brakes. Love the rims and the look but hate seeing the rust on the hubs and around the brakes. Is there anything I can paint to hide the rust? I will one day replace the brakes with a decent set but wedding soon so need to save. Cheers
  2. Orange BF F6 Typhoon on the Great Western Hwy eastbound around 2pm yesterday. If your on here I was tailing you from Wentworth Falls to Blaxland. Good fun.

All I know is that after driving one years ago they are the best sounding modern day V8 to drive. Also very aggressive and traction was an issue but very fun! After driving one I wanted but couldn't afford at the time. What colour?
  4. Actually ditch the Jenolan Caves, can we do a cruise to Bathurst??? It appears the last cruise there was over a year ago, and I haven't been on a cruise to Bathurst yet? We could do the following: Meet at Windford Motors at Mc Graths Hill, for some brekky and with all the cars lined up there you always get people come over and take a look and want photos. Then shoot off up Bells Line of Road, actually there is a great back route that bypasses Windsor, Richmond and North Richmond and re joins Bell Line of Road at Kurrajong. Its actually faster and a bit of fun. Then straight to Bathurst for a few laps around the Mountain, some lunch and then head back. We can do it on a weekend in July.
  5. Anyone here own the white or silver R-Spec in the Freemans Reach/Glossodia area??? I keep seeing the car at night which is why I can't tell the colour too well. Oh and you tried to catch me going past the turf farms one night several weeks ago...haha. Its one very nice looking R-Spec, would like to know who's it is???
  6. Jaymen, My only mods are tune and injectors, result 278 rwkw. The guys at CV said the center muffler is a restriction and the intercooler, if I replace both it would flow much better. Who did your center muffler change and did it alter the noise by much? Good result on your car though!
  7. Iconic Bionic, I should do just that, I will try to remember the east coast Targa Route we went on and plan it. I'm still debating the jenolan caves, I will see if there's anything else we can do. When I work it out I will post up a thread and details. I will make it a early July run. Cheers
  8. All, I really want to do the Jenolan Caves followed by the East Coast Targa Route again. We did it back in 2004 I think and it was a fantastic day, especially the Targa Route diving back to Lithgow, did some pretty freaky speeds. I think we had something like 20 cars to the caves and then most of the familys went home while us wild childs went on the targa run. Very fun day, if anyone is interested we can look at organising as I missed the last cruise. Cheers
  9. Surely its over 9psi, I peak at 12psi then run off to 10psi and I'm only running 278rwkw. I know the BFs produce higher numbers but that's a big jump over mine with less boost, and that curve is a wall. Would be very fun to drive.
  10. I opened the image up large and noticed the driver. But in small view you can't see the blur and it looks like a LHS drive, I guess it was wishful thinking!
  11. Has any one noticed the driver is on the LHS of the car not the RHS??? Looking back at all the FG spy shots the drivers are on the RHS but htis one is different???
  12. Hey all, Change of plans, I can't make it The other half had organised more wedding stuff for tomorrow...I was really looking forward to a cruise. I will have to read all the good times here tomorrow night. Have fun all. Cheers
  13. I'm 90% confirmed, just need to be sure the other half has no wedding planning to do (fingers crossed). If I come I will be meeting up with the Sydney group. Need to give the car a good run, I've hardly driven it for the past month. Cheers Shane
  14. Interesting read, not a bad thing I guess. I wonder how the V8 boys feel about it. Linked from Drive.com.au http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/ArticleD...v8tippedforford
  15. Thanks guys, I will definitely take the advice on board. I really don't want to keep tightening the bolts up as it will just become a pain.
  16. Hey guys, I want to give the T a quick service this weekend, oil change, throttle body clean etc and also want to tighten the exhaust manifold bolts. Can I just tighten them or do they need to use a torque wrench and if so what tension? If I need to tighten the bolts around the turbo again can I just tighten or torque wrench? I think there is definitely a leak as its sounding raspy and lagging a little bit especially this last week. Thanks for the advice. Cheers
  17. Ah, thanks rattler. I was not aware of that. I guess if it ever goes back to Ford then I will need to be sure that they do not touch the ECU as per the instruction book.
  18. Hey all, Loving the power upgrades after custom tune and injectors. I went to install the factory tune this afternoon so the missus could take the T for a drive. My first time actually using the flash box, I followed the instructions and installed the "F" or factory tune. When installation was complete I started the car and it idled really rough barely running. Even pressing the accelerator did nothing. I reinstalled the "Performance" tune and running perfect again. Has anyone had this issue before? It would appear there is a faulty factory tune on my flashbox. Does anyone know the best way to fix?

    Damn

Thanks guys, spoke with panel beater and should be easily fixable. Strange though today the door open warning kept going off over bumps so I'm assuming somethings stuffed with it. Not sure on where the sensor is, just have to remove the fuse until fixed cause its bloody annoying.

    Damn

Pics attached...it hurt seeing it again to take the photos.

    Damn

Hey all, Not happy...washed the beast today and as I was going to reverse back into the garage I released the hand brake without the engine on and my car just rolled back. I had my foot on the brake but not enough. My door was slightly open and hit my carport post. The top of my door bent down as it hit the timber post. I can still close the door but pissed off. Does any one know if its easily fixable, I'm hoping so. I'm getting an edit and injectors next Saturday and wanted a clean car, now its clean with a stuffed door!!!! Cheers

    New Here

Welcome, excellent choice in car and good to hear another 6 speed manual. I must admit I do have a soft spot for red, but haven't seen any FG's in red yet. Im a fan of red car on black rims with dark tints but have never been able to buy a red car. Enjoy driving ALL weekend. Next an edit!!!
  23. Thanks for the sympathy guys...and yes it appears being honest, admitting wrong doing and copping it pays off. Its hard to argue when doing over 100km/h in a 70km zone. My fiance last night gave it to me. Good to read some other close calls also...Actually today every time I saw A VE SS I was on the brakes...
  24. Hi all, In no way am I a big speeder and hate seeing idiots on the road, but today got busted. I live in the Hawkesbury north west of Sydney which is a rural area, hilly and good driving roads. I was approaching a large hill and ahead of me was 2 cars and a truck. My thoughts were "DAMN truck is going to crawl up the hill", anyways the road approaching was long, flat and legally safe to overtake. So I shifted back to 2nd and gunned it with a bit of wheel spin past all three vehicles very easily. I pulled in and started to climb up the hill, and was using the hill to slow down with a little brake also. Around the first bend I pass a red VE SS . Now, my area is full of under cover cop cars, very little marked. As I approached the car I looked at the dash and saw all the wrong things, radar, led lights etc. I gulped and once he passed on went his brake lights. I looked at the speedo and was doing 105km in the 70km area, again slowing down from overtaking and admit should have been going the limit. I slammed on the brakes and just pulled over and waited for him. There he was pulled in behind...a little amazed that I had already pulled over. I was totally honest with the cop and he said "mmmm 104km in a 70km zone, you should know better", I apologized and admitted I was wrong. He returned and quoted "you know 30km and over is suspension of license and a large fine?" I thought DAMN there goes my license, then he said "so I lowered it for you to 15km and over". I thanked him and took the fine. I am quite appreciative of his decision as there are ALOT of patrols out there that would have handed the 30km and over very easily. Anyways that's the lesson of today...overtake and brake heavily until under the limit...haha Cheers
  25. Hey, Lately the T has been making this weird creaking tapping noise (hard to explain) when I accelerate from stationery. It only appears to be on the front right side of the car. It doesn't seem to do it when moving. Its really if I'm stopped and then accelerate around a corner say at a traffic light. The noise is a bit tinny and not sure if its the steering rack or a suspension component, I'm thinking the latter. Does this sound familiar to anyone here, I've tried a search but nothing matching. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers
