Hey John, I am wanting Tunehouse to start looking after my car as discussed with one of the guys there this afternoon on the phone, and want to attend the information night. I think its a fantastic idea. I would love to know more about performance upgrades and what impacts it has on the rest of the car? I.e. if you do a custom dyno tune what direct impact does that have on the transmission or diff, fuel injection system, exhaust etc. When power gets increased without a doubt servicing needs to be more frequent, what should be done and when? I would like to discuss and learn more about these areas to keep up the longevity of my XR6 Turbo. Cheers
-
Well the problem is still there and getting more frequent, loss of power and shuddering. Happening in any gear now. Its getting serviced by CV this Thursday so we will see what they discover. Will let you all know if we diagnose a problem and find a solution. I hate these problems, it could be a hundred different things, I prefer something to just break so I can get it fixed. Cheers

I say see ya later! I will stick supporting the Ford teams because they represent what I support and that is the Ford logo! I think there is more to it than meets the eye, no way would Ford just let drivers and a full team run away, Ford can be a little slow but their not stupid, look at the cars we drive today! There are going to be some pretty pissed off Expensive Daewoo teams also who will now become shadows behind the 888 team and drivers. Whincup is blowing the Expensive Daewoo love out of his arse because he is being promoted and paid to do so, I don't believe a word out of his mouth or Lowndes, this is business and there is no trust or belief just $$$. If 888 have ditched the Ford logo what makes you think they won't do it to Expensive Daewoo if all goes pear shaped. If 888 don't win races for Expensive Daewoo as expected, I don't see the relationship going all that well plus any other Expensive Daewoo teams they assist. All the Expensive Daewoo supporters should be weary also particularly of Lowndes who bagged out Expensive Daewoo when he left and now hes returning very quietly, I know a few die hard Expensive Daewoo lovers who still hate him even if he has gone back.

I'd say yeah, slowed down alot. Speed gains a lot quicker now than when stock, very dangerous on busy streets. But I make an effort to give it a boot at least once a day, I paid for it, may as well use it. I ALWAYS boot it past Hawkesbury Valley Expensive Daewoo as I know a few workers there, people always look when they hear the turbo going and breaking traction in second and third. They must hate it when their trying to sell an SS and a 2005 model Falcon on boost comes flying past breaking traction, haha!

To be honest I prefer to Fords more rugged safety systems. The Expensive Daewoo in my opinion is too safe, good for most people, but I like how the Ford will kick out sideways and scare you BUT the system WILL correct the car back into place. When I test drove the FG Turbo it was wet and through a round about I planted it. The rear end went SNAP and scared the car salesman, but surely enough safety systems kicked in and said "enough fun" pulled the car back into line whilst keeping the throttle flat. The VE system I feel is too safe and will just keep the car inline constantly, takes the skill out of driving IMHO. Turn it off and you really feel the Expensive Daewoo weight move the car around.

Agreed Smackers, the in laws just purchased a new VESS...took it for a good drive and was not that impressed. I mean compared to my BA it feels newer etc but very lazy and the stupid auto was horrible. I was trying to overtake a couple of cars and had to pull back in because it couldn't decide what gear it wanted. Got back into the Falcon and felt right at home!

Some great pics there guys, that cobra GT looks the biz and sounded tough taking off from the pie shop. Those wheels on the ute . So guys whens the next cruise, I had too much fun on Friday night!
-
Hey mate, I recognised you off you tube. I was only watching your video a couple of days ago whilst scanning through the XR6T videos. Some good times considering your traction issues. Cheers Shane
-
Had a great time all...the cold weather was perfect for the car especially down mac pass, although the car in front slowed us down a bit. Yeah Luke, your ute stepped out in front of me after mac pass, looked Great cruise, can't wait for the next one!!!!! Cheers Shane

Piss off clouds, colder air when no clouds around, and DON'T RAIN!!!

Hey Matt, I should be there, picking up a mate first and hopefully get there on time. Cheers Shane

Hey mate, congrats!!! Their a very fun car, I been driving XR6 Turbos for nearly 5 years and still loving them. Next step custom dyno tune The FG's are getting awesome results, and find time to drive it. I still make up excuses to drive whenever I can!! Cheers

Well got my mainlube T56 oil today and magnetic plug which is a strong little bugger and draws the metal particles in the box to stop them floating around in the oil. Great idea me thinks! Hope to get the oil in this weekend and compare from the factory oil. Cheers

All Hawkesbury drivers be warned there are 2 new undercover cop cars getting around. Saw both last night going through Windsor: - Red F6 - Orange F6 Both have black and white plates, and standard 19's. I was going to play with the orange one until I pulled beside the car and saw the screen, dash lights and a cop passenger starring at me. Its the red ve ss undercover I hate, it blends in so well to other traffic.

Hey all, I am really getting over hearing and seeing these 4 cylinder "hero cars", particularly Saturday nights. The cars I mean are the typical lancers, excels and pulsars to name a few. I have nothing wrong with people driving these cars but I'm over the canon exhausts, shopping trolley wings, stickers etc. What is more annoying and concerning is the people that are driving these cars think their a super car. I had a young guy driving a lancer with the exhaust, spoiler etc over take me and 3 others and only just made it, thanks so someone letting him in whilst a car was coming in the opposite direction. Then later on he over took across double lines, every set of light he would take off revving the thing trying to race anyone he could. I also had a Mazda 6 with "P" plates, 2 large exhaust tips and rims try to run me yesterday. I didn't bother thinking about having a run, I know I would beat him and it would only entice him to race on the streets. As expected he took off revving the thing beyond its limits. Some Saturday nights I can hear the 4 bangers with the exhausts flying down the street and taking off from the corner trying to spin the wheels, got woken up 6 times last Saturday night. I live in a rural area, so their often driving around the streets with speed because of little traffic or cops. I do appreciate young kids spending some cash on their first car and some do come up looking nice, but please stop thinking their a track car once an exhaust and rims has been fitted... Anyways, that's my whinge for the day and I hope I didn't offend anyone on here. Cheers

-

Well, drove home tonight and all good. I gave it some through all gears to be sure and drove normal. I hope the issue is gone, time will tell! I am going to get a service done soon with CV Performance so hopefully I can pin point the issue and get it fixed get a dyno done and be sure its still running well. I hope its the valve springs, give me an excuse to buy a decent pair
-
Hey noodle, Can I ask why you didn't look at a Maloo, would have been the same as your GTS only missing the rear seats and gaining a larger boot? Great to hear your going the turbo though... Cheers
-
Thanks guys, I will see how I go tonight driving home, hopefully its gone but I doubt it. If not might get it checked out, but would be good to pin point the issue so can get it easily fixed. I have done 57,000 kms, im the second owner so not sure if the fuel filter has been done. Would failed coils or plugs have this symptom?
-
Yeah, it did sound a bit rough, it wasn't spluttering but just felt very restricted with a weird shudder and shudder noise.

Hey all, Driving the car this morning and loving the cold air it was running really well, a couple of overtakes etc. When I got to suburbia and putting around I gave it a bit going into second and the car was shuddering slightly and there was no power when pressing the accelerator, changed to 3rd and went normal same with fourth. However when going back to 3rd it did it again, the slight shuddering and no power. It only shuddered under acceleration. It definitely feels like an issue in the engine somewhere but nothing I have heard of or experienced before. Has anyone else had this issue and if so what was it? Thanks for the help in advance. P.S had a bit of a run with a GTS last night, the thing sounded like VERY nice like a V8 should but wasn't enough for the mighty 4 year old T Although he had me off the line but my cold tyres cound't stick to the road.

My inlaws family "maltese" are all Expensive Daewoo this and HSV that, everyone wears a HRT shirt or jacket to every family event. I am the only one there with a Ford. When ever one of them get a new Expensive Daewoo or HSV the men gather around the engine bay and "OOOO AHHHHH" and then the comments start "Ford has nothing compared to this" whilst looking at a VZ maloo engine. I always laugh and point to the road and beg for a run. The all simply can't believe what I'm stating with the F6 being faster than HSV's over the 1/4 mile etc STOCK. They are all convinced that Holden's V8 is the most powerful motor on the planet. Its totally amazing.....UNTIL I got an edit and injectors done...showed the dyno result to prove what power these motors put out and the cost of the works, little under $2k...took a couple of the inlaws relo's for a drive and they all came back saying they wanna buy a Ford Xr6 Turbo. They were sooo "blown" away with the torque delivery through every gear. Now there are 3 Ford XR6T's there!!! YEAH!!! I actually let one of the big Expensive Daewoo diehards drive my car and the comments were " JJJEEEESSSSUUUUSSSS this is too fast, the brakes are soooo good (their stock) and the seats are fantastic"....all it takes is a test drive, enough said!

Newly Turned Ford Lover. Any Things I Should Know?
BLK6T replied to iznutz's topic in General Car Talk
Hey mate, Definitely go manual if going BA MkII or BF 6 speed auto. I purchased mine for $22k and spent a little under $2k and gained over 70rwkw with an edit and injectors. Fuel economy has improved. If you think its quick, wait until you get an edit, very fun and all induction and flutter noises increase with the extra boost.
