  1. I didnt think it was right and was not a accurate oil pressure reading thank you
  2. hello I have just purchased a xr6 turbo and it is fitted with a oil pressure guage I have a feeling it is not reading pressure properly due to sensor location the sensor is fitted on the turbo oil line between the hard line and the start off the reals braided oil filter line I was told it had a new oil pump fitted to engine when it was rebuilt 20k ago on reciept says new oil pump with atomic gears but the pressure gauge never reads above 30-40 psi and on idle goes to about 10psi I cant remember where the sensor was located on my last xr6 turbo but I am sure it was off the side of the block near oil filter am I correct will my sensor work the same on the turbo feed line as it would if it was in the engine block any help would be appreciated can post pics if needed to show what I mean
  3. just a quick one I have a xr6 turbo that is making 370kw atw and is still running the factory crossover pipe and a upgrade aps intercoole it is currently tuned and running on e85 I am not chasing anymore power but I want to replace the pipework only one who I have seen is plazmaman I am only looking to change as I was told pipework is restrictive and I one pipe has been changed but is not flared on the end and I am sick of it blowing off every few days if I was to change the standard pipe to the plazmaman kit I have been told I wont need to get it tuned as its basiclly the same length etc just a little bigger any help would be appreciated
  4. I wondered why he could build a box so cheap he quoted me 2400 delivered to sydney for a box that could handle 600hp atw I thought it seemed to cheap and I thought to myself how can he do it so cheap then looked into it and decided to give him a miss then rang around and not many people touch them but was recommended to craigs automatics by 2 other gearbox places and so far so good time will tell though so far its handling the power and torque so I am happy but I was shocked to find what some people wanted to charge I rang preston automatics he wanted 5500 and I supply box but he would not guarantee clutches or gear sets and to do a conversion was going to cost $7000 plus if it was anything more then a street car I would have done a t400 conversion
  5. I looked into them but that had more bad reviews then good reviews and am very happy with the box I have now
  6. craig told me he had checked to shift points and he was happy with how they are done
  7. it cost me 3400 fitted craig built me a box to suit has bigger pump, clutches out of a zf 6 speed billet servos full manual valve body and a few other things which he said were his secret he said will hold 500-600 hp atw and will gave me 12 months 20000ks warranty very happy with box shifts very hard and tiptronic shifts are quick and feel really good compared to standard box most people I spoke to except rvo transmissions in melb wanted 5k plus to rebuild mine or wanted me to do a conversion which started at about 7k and craig said he could build one but would be full manual which I was hesitant at first but am so glad I got it done
  8. I would be happy with a 11 I have never raced a car at the creek have done plenty of street racing when younger but it a different car since getting it back from joe
  9. here is my ba xr6 turbo that makes 340.2 rwkw and 1167nm of torque it was tuned by joe at cms and to say I am happy is a understatement car destroyed gearbox on dyno and have just had a box built by craigs automatics in chipping norton mods are crow cams crow valve springs 1000cc injectors upgraded fuel pump 4 inch xforce dump 4 inch 100 cell cat and 3 inch xforce stainless exhaust system plazmaman 4 inch intake and race box wastegate and flapper mod and 12 psi actuator rapid systems cooler and pipework custom tune by joe built auto with full manual valve body and 2400rpm convertor have only just recently got it back on the road due to gearbox and next thing is to take it to eastern creek and see if I can run a 11 sec pas that's my goal
  10. hello just after a bit of advice I am about to fit a larger trans cooler to my xr6 turbo but the trans cooler I purchased is fitted with a fan and is 12.5 inches long and 10 inches wide with a 10 inch thermo fan .my question is as its to big to fit up front anywhere(I tried a few locations) I have been thinking about mounting it under the rear on the spare wheel well or to the sides it is fitted with a bracket that lowers it down a little for air flow .I know a rock cant hit the front due to fan and will use braided line does anyone think there will be any issues mounting it here and would I hook fan to blow air into it or suck the air away from it it also has a temp sensor to turn fan on and off automatically any help would be appreciated
  11. I am from currans hill have a ba xr6 turbo in acid rush making 340 rwkw and rolling on 20 inch stance sc5 rims and tuned by cms and very happy with the work joe has done on it would be keen to meet up with others and go for a cruise
  12. yes he sends them away to preston automatics in vic he said I would be looking at around 4500 plus labour have rang a few places today have spoke to craigs automatics in warwick farm for 3200 drive in drive out and will handle my 450rwhp and 1200nm of torque he said it will handle up to about 650hp at the engine. the only thing that I have a issue with is he told me it will have a full manual valve body and be full manual and shift with the tiptronic shift all the time I can understand if it was a race car but this is a street car
  13. I have just had my car tuned by joe at cms it is a ba series 1 it ended up making 340kw atw and 1165nm torque and now my transmission has decided it didnt like the dyno or the extra power it is making what are the options I have when it comes to my gearbox who would you recommend in sydney to rebuild box or other options. I have heard its a massive job to change to 6speed auto and not worth the cost to do conversion who has modified there 4 speed auto and where and what did it cost and how do they handle the power after they are modded I am a little disapointed that my car is making good power and I can not get to use it as box slips on boost and now have no 4th gear any help would be appreciated thank you Andrew
  14. I am after some advice to see if this will work I have recently upgraded to a new cooler system with plamaman pipework that now goes down under passenger headlight and the blow off valve is located behind the passenger headlight.my question is could I run a 90 degree silicon fitting and run it down under the headlight so it can not be seen but it will be roughly 6-8 inches away from the fitting in the pipework .will the blow off valve still work as it would if it was just on the cooler pipe . I would like to hide the blow off valve so it cant be seen by police my last set up my blow off valve was hidden inside my plazmaman airbox and when got pulled over never had a issue (cop told me first thing they look for is blow off valve ) and if he cant see it its better any help will be great as I dont want to plumb it back to intake on the other side of engine bay
  15. ok no dramas will look into getting re tuned any idea what it would cost roughly to get a retune /new tune and would it be worth just getting a e85 tune this is just my weekend car
