  1. thanks for the replies guys so is there anything inparticular that I should really be looking for with these cars? Items that a common to fail? Parts that need frequent attention or service? What would you look for mainly if you were looking at buying one? Also can someone give me their opinion of the interior and stereo, nav, etc that's in the car?
  2. Really? All the ones in Syd right now are all $40k plus and have at least 60k kms on them. I found this one in SA and seems like a great deal compared to the rest... http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/fpv-f6-2009-14137377?base=1216&vertical=Car&cr=3&eapi=2&__N=1246%201252%201247%201282%204294965879%204294954501%201216%204294680278&num=15&silo=Stock&sort=%7ePrice anyone know this one?
  3. yeah all the ones on carsales right now are in the high 30s for a 09 with around 70,000kms plus. Unfortunatly im in NSW so there isnt many good deals like there are in SA and WA for example :( Yeah the M3 has been a great car but paying $1500-2000 for a service is taking its toll. Im leaning more towards the f6 because of the FPV badge and overall I feel I would be happier with it. Does anyone know anyone in Sydney who are good with these cars that could do a PPI for me, or would a ford dealer be the best option? And yeah service history is a must, plus id do a complete inspection and fluid change when I have it just to make sure its all good. A personal opinion from you guys, are F6 owners finding it hard to sell etc? Would be nice to get an idea of what the market is like for FPVs as it gives a buyer more room to haggle lol. I know the M3 market is poor right now, my car is worth about 36-38k however will be letting it go for around 32k. Thanks again guys looking forward to owning one of these
  4. So I'm about to sell my e46 m3 and want something that will basically cost less to maintain but it still fun to drive and on a similar level. I originally was going to be sensible and get a relatively new XR6T but for similar money I can get a 09-10 F6 but they have between 70,000-100,000kms on them. My budget is around the $37k mark. Basically how reliable are these cars? I am a noob to ford, I know my BMWs but over the $$$ they cost to keep up, in the last year I've spent almost $7k on my M3 so it's time to let her go. Anything I should be looking out for in particular? Or is it worth sticking to a 2012-13 XR6T instead? Either way which ever car I go will have light mods, probably go as far as a tune, exhaust and maybe injectors but that's about it. Thanks for the help guys.
  5. Oh I know how to change oil however don't have the ability to where I live. I could do a fair but of maintenance on it myself however I have a 5 year warranty on the car which requires certified mechanic work done on it (records etc) to maintain the warranty. Haha yeah sure seems legit
  6. Thanks for the feedback guys Nope the car is great it's just paying $450 for an oil change every 5000-6000 KMs and $2000 for a major service is starting to take its toll on me. Especially after paying the $5000 for the subframe repair I can't justify holding onto it anymore as it's a money pit and is my DD. I love the car, it's power and sound is amazing but at 22 can be $$$ and I need to draw the line somewhere. Reason I was looking at a falcon is because it's cheap to maintain, I could get a new or demo FG XR6T for basically what I would sell the M3 for and it's 4 doors so with the future of children very soon could be practical. I'm also looking at other options like a Golf R, Expensive Daewoo Bogan special or used GTS, bmw 335 and lexus 350. Basically keeping my options open and trying not to be bias to BMW. I didn't expect the overall quality of the ford to be the same as BMW, but is it really as bad as what everyone makes it seem haha? But yeah I know the M3 is a very good car (probably better then the XR6T [dont bash me for saying that but probably true]) but for the price it looks good.
  7. Hey all I'm a newbie around here wondering about what to get next. Basically I'm 22 and enjoy driving cars that have power behind them but are fun to drive. I currently have an 02 M3 and while I love the car to death the maintenance costs are killing me - just had to do a $5000 subframe repair. So I'm looking for something to replace it - budget is around $40-45k and looking for something with factory warranty. Basically what I want to know is will the trade to the XR6T be worth it for me? Are they good cars and fun to drive? Anything else I should look for? Thanks guys
