  1. Are the vdo coils any good or do I need to get genuine ford? Also what plugs are recommended - I thought the ngks would be alright?
  2. Thanks for all the responses - the car is stock 155,000km. I have replace 5 of 6 coils with aftermarket, can't remember exact brand but they were cheap approx. $20 each. I used the ngk plugs with 1.1mm gap as car is still stock. Shaun - I live south of the river but happy to travel to have someone with expertise check it over. What is the best method to use to eliminate the coils? I replaced them originally because they looked sh*tty and had hairline cracks in the plastic and it did seem to solve the problem.
  3. Hi All, I have a 03 ba xr6 turbo sedan which when I bought had a problem of missing when on boost which I fixed by replacing the coils and plugs. Over the weekend the miss has come back and gotten worse to the point where it is running on 5 cyls at idle and breaking down really bad when giving it any throttle at all. Also when I shut the car off I can hear the turbo still spinning but it's a coarse sound? What is acceptable end float for a turbo? I don't appear to be losing coolant and there is no milkshake in the overflow bottle so hopefully not a head gasket. Basically I want to have the car checked out but not really sure who to take it to in Perth? Cheers for any help you can offer.
