  1. Remember these guys have all the EPA cr@p to contend with. So have to pay big bucks to have the old coolant taken away as you can't tip it down a drain anymore, can't recycle it, can't leave it in the sun to evapourate. And since we all seem to be complaining about hourly rates my boss charges $395/hr for my apperances....I get about 20% of that....
  2. Ahh yes but there is more than one Mick that works/worked there......see not so silly after all.
  3. I was going to Bling it but need the car, and this was a same day solution... Next time.
  4. Now I had been considering getting a polished alloy PWR one for a while for this exact reason, but didn’t like the idea of not being able to see the coolant level easily. So after the leak I went off to the Ford parts place did a bit of Mick name dropping and got myself a new one from Ford at trade price. I then masked up the front side (min max) where the sun never shines and painted the rest to keep the UV off. The car is silver so that was the colour I used, looks a bit odd but I think it will do the job. If not I guess I will have to go the alloy one....
  5. Cr@p!!!! I washed and detailed the car top to bottom on New Years Eve and noticed a small amount of crazing on the rad overflow bottle where it is exposed to the sun. Less than a week later and the unmistakeable smell of coolant was emanating from the car. Had a look under the bonnet and the entire thing where it is exposed to UV is cactus.
  6. Congratulations mate ..... I hope you got all the sleep you will need for the next 6mths, already.
  7. I have been to all 3 now. I was there with my other car, and we too, were banished from the track and the inner display area, to up on the grassy noll up near the TE/S/L's.....where my car ended the day very dusty. The day was more of a race day than in previous years. In the past the focus was on static displays and parade laps this year it was all historic racing with one parade lap of all thigs Brock. Including 2 very untidy EA Brock Falcons. Last year was better.

    Apec Sucks

Hey you can Jam that we don't want em here either......
  9. I must be weird I prefered .... Авто
  10. I am for the full sized spare. I hadnt had a flat for the last 10 years or about 400,000ks....then I have had 2 flats in the last month..... Crappy Yoko Advan V103s... once they are half worn its as if they are made of cheese reinforced with tissue paper.
  11. Won't work. ICC does not have VGA inputs....SCART NTSC inputs.
  12. Sorry Mick Maffra Sale is off .. .its been sold.
  13. Anyone who has had dealings with lawers would know, just because you were let off does not mean you are innocent, just that you had a good lawyer. What do they say "better a hundred guilty men go free than one innocent man is imprisoned" Either way as a country we could do better than to allow immigrants who's family are known terrorists. The circumstantial eveidence did not look good, I know if my wife were preganant with my first child I would be home a few days before the kid was born, not a few days after.
  14. ...probably just chasing one of these...
  15. Not anymore Rosco....what about the revenue cameras just installed on the long downhill stretch of the parkway?
  16. Unless they have chunks missing most plastic buper actually get sent off and repaired, by plastic welders. So the panel shops get money for them. Just as in the old days chrome bumpers got sent off and pressed back into shape and rechromed if they werent totally cactus.
  17. Article did not make a lot of sense to me as a biased F6 owner. The Force 6 came.... 2nd in lap times (XR6T 7th) 2nd for acceleration.. (XR6T 6th) 3rd for Kw ...what you pay for V's what you get.... (XR6T 7th) 1st for Fuel economy (XR6T3rd) Yet overall ratting is 5th (XR6T 4th) Perhaps Force 6 was penalised for price premium over Typhoon, and XR6T. The bit that made me giggle was the car described as the lard arsed XR6T when it first came out in 2002 is now the lightest car of the lot...
  18. I have the V103s and would not get them again, not as much grip as the original Dunlops, and don't last anywhere as long. They are quieter though. Paid $420 ea last year for 245/40/18's
  19. B@stards....but your really should not trust anyone with that birthday.
  20. A bit like this one I took a few months ago... Hmmmm unleaded or 98, ULP no 98....no ULP. Save one cent you know.
  21. Plenty of stupid people here, why limit yourself to picking on just the one?
  22. The other day I let the Mrs drive may car and upon her return she complained that the Hoffoon was jumping out of 4th gear. I took it for a drive and it didnt do it for me, however I did notice that the shift lever seems 'floppy'. Fo example when the car is in 4th you can move the gear lever another 20mm futher back and it just sort of springs forward....I never noticed this before. How much free play is normal?
  23. I also have a mix of 18V Atlas Copco / AEG / Milwaukee (same drill different colour and brand) and Metabo all made in Germany. As well as being tougher the batteries last longer and charge in 1/14th the time of the cheaper ones. But I noticed AC/ AEG / Mke are now made in the Czech Rebpublic and Metabo sell cheaper PRC cordless combo kits, as well as still selling the more expensive German ones. You can feel they are lighter duty with plastic rather than metal gears. You get what you pay for...I started with what I thought was expensive Ryobi 12V $200 and it lasted about 2 years of very hard work, then I bought an 18V Atlas Copco $480 and still had it 4 years later so bought another Milwaukee one. Zillions of 100mm allen head screw into hardwood etc. The same with grinders Ryobi $99 = 13 months Bosch $129 = 18 months Metabo $280 still going after 3 years so bought a second, (one for cutting and one for grinding) both still working 5 years later. I am told Festool are the best...but for what you are using it for the B&D should be fine.
  24. Can't wait to say I told you so. Have you ever used an angle grinder or welder whilst wearing a cotton shirt? Cotton rags burn really well. I am serious all the plastic crap inside a car is highly flammable, the carpet, everything. If you really are that foolish wet the rags first and have a CO2 fire extinguisher nearby, and a handy cam so you can make a few bucks from the silliest home video show....goodluck.
